also for drums, what do people think about using bolts for teeth? they seem to work in some of the american beetleweights but i'm not sure how effective they would be

On RPM Tom used bolts before he machined a piece of hardox...worked well

alright, well I'll probably try using offset stainless steel bolts for teeth for now, and upgrade to hardox 450 teeth in the future

Oh and Harry, pretty rubbish powerpoint drawing of the robot, but you get the idea haha :P I will probably change the shape to try and make it a bit more unique.

              I like it
How would you be changing the shape exactly? I'm guessing you would be making it more oval shaped, making the robot wider?
I have now settled on a design (can't remember if I said lol) Won't give away too much just yet but it should be a pretty powerful little machine.

well I'm planning to use a strip of HDPE and bending it around the robot to make the outer shape, i've not fully decided on what shape it will end up being but i'll try to make it as unique and spinner resistant as possible. The outer layer is really only to protect the wheels and look nice anyway :P

can you say what weapon you are planning on making? ;D

Just getting it mocked up to see how its looking. The tape is to show the height once the polycarbonate is trimmed and the sign was for a bit of a laugh.

                            Looking good so

                              Looking awesome, nice one

just wondering by the way, is it definitely 1.5kg now? Because people didn't seem sure on the other thread and it would be good to know what the weight is going to be for certain.
