Been working on Spinza's chassis a bit, here it is with the Lipo in the back and the polycarb sheets top and bottom.

Sweet! looks like a fairly balanced machine. How big is the bar going to be?

Just something to keep me ticking over while I wait for parts and money for the eggbeater.
Since Shane is busy making the arena fantastic and generally doing cool things, I've been sent RPM to rewire and rejig.
Got it this morning, and just span it up.. I am very impressed!

Impressive! What might be useful is if you could put up a parts list of what's gone into RPM, that way we can get an idea as to what clearly works

Any idea what pulleys and belts are used on the motor? Everything I've found is a bit big and a bit pricey.

I'm using 2.5mm pitch, but I've already snapped a belt.

                  RPM uses a O ring.

The Bigconkers site will soon have a seperate page dedicated for The Slaughterhouse events, Videos and Pictures. Projects can still be posted on there too. Started the scoring system and got some led score boards working. Need to program them now with their judges buttons. Nipping to maplins later to get some LEDs for the F1 style start board for the fights. Got the first mock ups of the Logo too...Changing it to suit and should have a 2nd mock up soon. I have a brilliant idea too that will add a new dimension to the arena...but need time for that so wont say just yet. still lots to do. Got the mobility scooter project to fit in between all this too. Good job Air is ready for battle.

                      • I like the idea of adding a bit of variety to the arenas! I`m looking forward to seeing the meat hooks snagging a robot in mid-air too.

                        • Driving test of RPM. The wiring needs a fair bit of tidying still.

                          • I've got the first sort of trial of my beetle working. It's made purely out of recycled parts from other machines and bits of things I found laying about the house. The main chassis is kind of made of plywood, but that's not permanent, hopefully. Going to have 2mm aluminium that I've got spare from HardWired as the chassis and main shell, then I'm hoping to find something to make a disc or drum out of for the back (opposite side to the wedge). It's all a work in progress, and will likely end in tears and/or large amounts of fire, but the sentiment's there I suppose.

                            • is that driven on servo and microswitches?. and thats good made completely from recycled parts lying around. I would get some armour on it tho

                              • It is indeed! It used to be in HardWired but I'm buying some proper ESCs for it, so I thought I'd rehome it! Handles very nicely considering, the motors are quite torquey but slow so it suits it well
And thanks too! I fell quite lucky with some of the things I've found about, like that spare battery and speedo for what will eventually become the weapon! I definitely need to fashion a shell for it too, especially after seeing RPM not a couple of posts earlier... can't see it ending well without any!

I've got some scrap aluminium (same stuff I made HardWired's chassis/shell from) so that should work, I'm hoping... if not, I'll still use it and polish it somewhat excessively haha!
