    * - bots that need to be adjusted / fixed.

Paul - I've gone over MeCannibal's stats again and I'm sorry but I don't think your spinner would be able to spin properly with all that shockproofing. You might want to take some of it away.

Aaron - No problem, I'll wait. And sorry, but no flamethrowers. The only flamethrowers I'm going to allow are on the house robots. :P

    ----

Right, Alex Holt got a spot over MSN (he needs to get in the rest of his otherweights though :P), so the HW competition is now closed. I still need HWs from Tracy, Aaron, and Leo, and otherweights from Alex. That leaves 3 spots open for AWs, 1 spot open for FWs, and 2 for the rest of the otherweights. Get 'em in!

Re: The Crash & Burn Tournament 4

          The May Tracks Has You

Shape: A box wedge, like Comengetorix. It has a wedge extender to give it 0 mm at the front.

          Speed: 15 MPH.

          Dimensions(lwh A): 85CM X 45 CM X 24 CM

          Armour: 4.5 MM hardox.

GC: 0 mm at the front, 6 mm everywhere else, covered by skirts made of 3 mm Ti.

Weapon 1: Rear hinged flipper, powered by two pneumatic rams at 500 psi.

Weapon 2: Upward facing spikes on the wedge. A robot can go over them, but if it tries to reverse, say goodbye to your tyres. By wedging a robot then reversing suddenly, TMTHY can impale the tyres, then fire the flipper to do loads of damage. Even a robot with stuffed tyres will be limping after that.

Drive: Inner tracks, powered by Lem-130€™s at 24 volts.

          Srimech: The flipper.

Strengths: Weapon synergy, has sunglasses painted on the side. Once The May Tracks Has You, there is no escape.

Weaknesses: Axe/flipper combos could take the tracks out.

Notes: There is a strip of metal shaped like sunglasses at the top of the flipper to prevent fast robots just going straight up and over like in Storm 2 vs Firestorm.

          The Crashing Bore 2

Shape: Box with a wedge on front, with a sharpened front wedge extender.

          Dimensions: 80 X 40 X 25 (lwh)

GC: 2 CMs at sides and rear, 0 at front. Side and rear skirts protect the sides and rear, but can be removed to fight spinners.

Weapon 1: The trap is back as ever, powered by two LEM 130s on 36 volts. This time the idea is to snap and grip.

Weapon 2: The front wedge lifts up, powered by a linear actuator. This should lift around 200 KGs.

Weapon 3: The drill is also back, powered by the same actuator as the wedge. As the wedge lifts, the drill extends to attack the base of whatever is being lifted. The drill is sprung with 50 KGs of downforce, so anything the drill cannot penetrate easily will push it down the shaft and still allow the wedge to lift. However, the drill will still push into the opponent with a force of 50 KGs.

Armour: A 3.2 mm hardox monocoque, except for the front wedge which is 8 mm hardox. The skirts are 5 mm grade 5 Ti.

Drive: Four wheel drive, powered by two LEM 130s on 36 volts

          Srimech: The trap

Notes: Painted to look like it€™s a red robot with a fine layer of dust :O

          Raging Tempest

          Shape: Ring spinner.

          Speed: 12 MPH.

          Dimensions(dh): 80CM X 25 CM

          GC: 1 CM.

Armour: The spinning ring is 4 MM of Hardox 500. The base and top are 5 mm of polycarb. There is a 1 CM Ti box section frame, with weight reducing holes.

Weapon: Ring spinner powered by two Lem 130s at 36 volts and spinning at 1500 RPM to deliver around 70 KJs per hit. The four hardox teeth are 6 inches long with two being placed near the top and two near the bottom.

Weapon 2: Two foot long blades can be attached to the bottom of the machine and skim 5 mm above the floor, with the idea being to sneak under GCs and attack wheels. This is only used as an anti-Tengu measure.

Drive: 2 wheeled, driven by S28-400 magmotors at 24 volts.

          Srimech: Invertible.

Notes: Has an absolute buttload of shock proofing inside. Everything is firmly bolted down, with layers of rubber between everything. Added to that, the teeth have a backwards curving shape which maximises the distance it will throw itself away from the opponent. The reason is twofold. First is to make ramming and flipping it difficult, but the main reason is to bleed away kinetic energy backlash, by using that backlash to move the robot externally rather than internally. The shockproofing is mostly there to stop it shock killing itself upon landing.

          The 6isc

Shape: Like an old fashioned bar-bell. It is two circular wheel pods, connected by an axle in the middle of which sits the disc.

          Size: 60X110X60 CM (LWH)

          Weight: ~100 KGs

          Speed: 10 MPH.

Ground clearance: Under the wheel protectors, it€™s 5 mm.

Weapon: 26 KG spinning disc, powered by one LEM 130 Lynch motor and going at 2500 RPM. The disc is shaped with its own teeth rather than needing teeth surgically attached to it, so dentistry is quite impossible. The energy output is 36 KJ€™s which, while modest by vapour €˜bot standards should still be enough to make a mess of things.

Wheels: 6 wheels, but four wheel drive. This has three wheels on either side arranged in a triangular fashion, so it only runs on four at a time. The wheels are 1 CM solid Ti with soft compound rubber wrapped around them to provide shock resistance, and a layer of Vulcalon wrapped around that to provide traction.

Chassis: The main chassis consists of one solitary 1 CM thick 4 mm box section hardox bar. Slotted over that is a secondary axle, inside which are the batteries. There are also two other triangular chassis€™ supporting the wheels. These are made from 4 MM 1 CM box section Ti bars with weight reducing holes.

Armour: The true axle and chassis is a 4 MM hardox bar. The battery axle is 2 mm aluminium. The semi circular wheel protectors and side spikes are 5 mm Hardox. The disc itself is 14 MM of Hardox 500, and the outer axle is 4 mm grade 5 Ti.

Srimech: Totally invertible. Controls won€™t even have to be reversed after flipping, meaning it can just go straight back on the attack.

          Drive: 2 S28-400 Magmotors at 24 volts.

Strengths: The newest version of The 6isc does away with as many weaknesses in The Disc 5 as I could find.

Weaknesses: Weak armour in places. Can€™t use axe attacks.

I'll get some otherweights knocked up if I have time, but I've been really busy lately so no promises. I'll enter some random real ones if I run out of time on that front.

Aaron, how's entering going to take up any time at all? It's not like ARC where you have to RP weekly. You can virtually just enter your designs and not even post tactics at all and you could still be a contender to win [I don't recall posting any tactics whatsoever and SUNCUST still made it to the quarterfinals of C&BT....2, right?]

              * - bots that need to be adjusted / fixed.

Paul - I also just noticed that your spinning ring, given the dimensions and thickness of it, is actually 43kg, not 30kg. Could you rectify this problem please? Make the ring thinner than 10mm or compensate for the extra 13kg of spinning ring you're bringing on board.

Frank - The Crashing Bore 2 is much too thin. You won't be able to get everything that's in your robot in there. Please widen it, thank you.

Right. We have all our heavyweights. The draw for that will be posted some time in the near future. Still need otherweights, though. 1 more AW and FW, and 2 more LWs, MWs, and SHWs. Get them in!

Just take my default otherweights for each category, unless they aren't eligible in which case just take the most ludicrous robot of each weight you can think of, my knowledge of real otherweights is minimal.

No problem, Alex. I'll take Sith, Tiny Tengu, MW Blizzard, and Red Knight to be your entries then, if that's okay.

Just waiting on AJ's otherweights, one more person to enter a LW, MW, and SHW, and for Paul and Frank to fix up MeCannibal 3.0 and The Crashing Bore 2, before fights officially begin. Line-ups regardless will be posted very shortly.

                        HEAT A
                        ELIMINATORS
                        1) Disco 5 (1) VS The Final Cut
An interesting pair for the first fight of the tourny, but I think Disco can boogie to victory once again.

                        2) Drilla Killa 7 VS MORNINGTON CRESCENT
Zoiks, Hardox pushers aren't exactly Mornington Crescent's bag but let's give it a go. I'll use my superior manoueverability to avoid the front wedge and aim for the sides or rear. Ripping off those skirts should rack up a good few Damage points. Basically keep moving and batter it till it dies. If Drilla Killa manages to catch me, keep on spinning and see if I can't tear one of those drills off.

You've got a great line-up for war four, Kody. Can't wait for the kick-off!

                          Presenting: TEAM PICUS' TACTICS

Heat C: Killotine: EVO vs. STAT:

Avoid the front of Killotine (and, by extension, the axe) and attempt to ram it quite a bit at the front corners, sides and rear, getting up a good head of steam with the spike to try and dent or punch into the shell, and then ram it into various objects. If spiking it fails to work, use the flat arse end (to use the technical term) of the robot to push Killotine around and into various things, including and not limited to; the wall discs, the pit, the house robots, and any portals to hell that may appear over the course of the event.

                          Best of luck Steve

Heat I: With Or Without You vs. Magnitude, Heat K: Shovearound 2.5 vs. Gabriel IV, Heat O: Ge5orce vs. N³: Will all come closer to to the fights themselves

                          ***

Razzler vs. Katjuscha vs. Wedge 3mm vs. Bobcat:

I am much faster than Razzler or Wedge 3mm with the geared motors for drive, Katjuscha is my main concern here with that Hardox spinner. Tactics will be to keep either Wedge or Razzler between myself and Leo's machine, and grab onto whichever of those two is nearest - Razzler was a Razer toy and Wedge has polycarbonate armour so I should be able to get a good hold if I get under them at the sides or rear - and then feed the unfortunate victim to Katjuscha in the hope that, with our combined 300g and Katjuscha being 148g, it will suffer the recoil more than we do and flip itself over or out of the arena, or overload the weapon controller, or have some other positive effect. Try and do this when close to an enclosed side of the arena so if we do get thrown I can bounce back in hopefully :P
If that works, it should kill both Katjuscha and whoever I'm holding, but it's a big if.
In the event of that failing, I shall try and get around the rear of Katjuscha, or in on the side facing the camera in the above pic, and get firmly beneath it before pouring on the amps on the crusher motor. I might be able to go through the Kevlar - my priority will actually be to sever that exposed aerial but getting through would be good - and hope that I damage something important. If I now have control over it and the spinner is still going, make use of it and whack something.
If I penetrate the battery pack and it all goes up in flames, drop it and run away. Very fast.
And if the opportunity arises to shove someone off the edge for an easy elimination, do so. Although if anyone wants to team up something could be arranged...

Small System Shock vs. Innis vs. Sith vs. Redemption:

Ram into and push any of the other three around and into the pit, preferably at the sides to avoid their weaponry. Use the saws to lift them further up onto my wedges, create sparks, and cause damage if it goes to the judges.
I'm open to teamups here if anyone swings that way

Sergeant Slaughter vs. Backlash vs. Ziggo vs. Gamma Raptor:

To quote a certain Mr. Kody Kunz: Destroy things.

Pack Raptors vs. Gamma-Rex vs. Heroin vs. Blizzard MW:

...I'd actually like to offer a team up here, with Alex and Blizzard, as I feel together we could take out Pack Raptors and Gamma-Rex easily. Heroin will start in reverse and use the lifting wedge to fend opponents off until the triangular disc is brought up to full speed, and then go for the Pack Raptors first, hitting them with the disc, and then do similar things to Gamma-Rex, hopefully I should be able to impact it enough to shake something loose or remove part of the transmission (a chain, a belt, etc.) through shock damage. If that doesn't look like working, use the lifter to get in underneath it at the sides, front corners, or rear, and then lift it to break its traction and either request Alex' assistance in disposing of it down the pit, or ram it into things and down the pit myself.

I'd also like to reiterate that in my opinion Gamma-Rex is pushing the weight limit, and if it's not too much trouble I would like to request to see Liam's weight breakdown of it to assuage my fears before the fight happens.

Revolver vs. Drive vs. Toro vs. Ziggy:
Ram either of the real flippers into Revolver to try and damage both machines involved. I actually think Drive would fit underneath Revolver's disc and take no damage; if this is the case I shall at some early stage get under it at the front and deliver it swiftly to the pit, and then take my pick from the other two and do the same to them, getting around the sides or rear and pitting them.
I'm open to teamups again, should anyone wish to.

The very best of luck to all...Kody, do us proud and give us some good fights

Great to be drawn up against Steven, although Mornington Crescent should be a difficult proposition for DK7. Best I can do is to avoid using the drills altogether and just keep ramming him towards hazards and walls - if the front wedge starts looking a bit battered, I'll switch to reversing into him.

Neo-Mecha - Use the rear wedge on Holepunch, and since I'm faster than him, I'll just use my great pushing power to ram it all day. Try to use the disc when needed. Avoid the front like the plague! Also, I'll never do anything STUPID like drive onto his crusher, because if I do, I'm screwed. Either way, I'm very confident to survive.

Blue Hurricane - DESTROY MACBETH, and avoid the front like mad!

Next Stop, Jupiter - Flippin' and Shreddin' time! FIRST OF ALL, STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ARENA! DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE ARENA WALL! My ring should spin up fast, so I will AVOID THE FRONT LIKE MAD, and get under the sides of Monsoon Season. Then, I will flip it into the pit or out of the arena. I will also smash into the sides with the spinning ring when I can; you know, try to knock some panels off and stuff. Also, I'll never do anything STUPID like drive onto his flipper!

Paralyzation 2: Be mucho aggresivo, and AVOID THE SPINNER! GO FOR THE BACK, and shred it all!

                                Good luck, Leo and Dan.
