              Pack Raptors vs. Gamma-Rex vs. Heroin vs. Blizzard MW

              From the United States...Pack Raptors!
              Basically Gamma Raptor x 2! A two-part clusterbot that's pushy, fast, and has decent armour. The 4WD is slightly expoed but that helps it self-right easier. They can however be knocked out quite easily thanks to the weight disadvantage...heading to the back of the pack, perhaps?

              From Cardiff, Wales...Gamma-Rex!
              Uhm...is that fur? It seems Team Welsh Warlords have replaced the titanium/vanadium with some fur...strange. It's basically a barrel shape with a powerful flipping mechanism. Mildly powerful, but...really, they'll just catch on fire here.

              From Pontefract...Heroin!
              Warning: this robot may induce a feeling of...well, whatever feeling it wants you to feel! It's got a nasty-looking spinning blade and a rear lifter as back-up. 4WD helps this thing push, but inferior armour to all but Gamma-Rex may have it shot up a little more than intended.

              From Geddinton in Northamponshire...Blizzard MW!
              A smaller brother of heavyweight Blizzard...quite unusual in that it uses a screw mechanism to drive itself around which, when coupled with 36v Bosch power and 17mph, can prove deadly. The weapons are akin to massive drills but don't look too effective, nor does the armour.

              Roboteers, stand by...

              They're middleweights, they can take it! :P Asterix Anarchius and Hexadecimal are the house robots here.

              And middleweights are go! It's Heroin that's surprisingly off first, followed by the Pack Raptors. Each goes after the other in an instant, but that's not all. Gamma-Rex is after Blizzard MW, but the tricky omni-like bot swerves away allowing Gamma-Rex to blow a kiss to the wall, almost. Gamma-Rex turns about but is broadsided by its own prey, and Blizzard tries to push it...umm...the drills just went into the fur. Just as Liam is about to retaliate, he gets broadsided by an incoming Pack Raptor pushed aside by Heroin's rear wedge. Heroin keeps going, but Gamma-Rex has finally turned about and got the flipper under the Raptor! Joey blinks, then gets Heroin out of there, pronto. The Pack Raptor is unable to get away from Gamma-Rex and is subsequently launched across the arena...comes down bouncing onto its top claw and lies on its back. As its twin goes to help it out, it is blocked by the flywheel of Heroin! The other Raptor self-rights as Heroin takes off after its twin, but the Raptor easily outstrips Heroin and both parts regroup. Meanwhile Blizzard is still trying to get a good hold on Gamma-Rex, but is failing. Gamma-Rex is able to finall get its flipper into play on Blizzard, and lets loose an almighty snort...on air! Blizzard got away just in time and Gamma-Rex ends up flipping itself thanks to its own power! ...well, fur doesn't really keep the barrel shape, even with the chassis, right? So Gamma-Rex is stuck there and completely unable to roll onto its wheels! Sooooo...Liam is forced to resort to the flipper, and does so...Blizzard hurries to get under as Gamma-Rex lands -

              CRASH!!!

              And that sound can only mean that something's been hit! It's one of the Raptors, flung into Blizzard and sporting a massive scar in the rear! Obviously the culprit must have been Heroin, as the blade is stopped! The other moves in to capitalize...but only succeeds in lifting Heroin a few millimetres off the ground before Joey gets his robot away. The other Raptor moves away from Blizzard and the still-inverted Gamma-Rex, whose srimech didn't exactly help there, still too powerful, and Blizzard has complete control of the situation! Diving to a corner of the arena, it drives Gamma-Rex into Hex's CPZ with its drills! Hexadecimal raises her outer blades in question...and delivers her own answer! Hahaha! The fur flies! Now we can see the inner chassis of Gamma-Rex, a bit scuffed from the collision but otherwise all right...but not for long! Hex is spinning again...and Blizzard has no intention of letting Gamma-Rex go! Liam has to use the flipper again, but Hex is too near!

              CRASH!!!

              AND THE FLIPPING ARM GETS IT!!! Oh blimey, that was a major, major hit to the Gamma-Rex weaponry, that was! It's completely bent the arm and now prevented Gamma-Rex from self-righting...possibly...no, no srimech action! Blizzard gets out of there, quite pleased with itself as The Watcher, seizing its chance, wheedles away with the countdown!
              1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

              And that means we're down to three! Or, rather, four, as the Pack Raptors are still managing to avoid that mighty weaponry of Heroin's! Blizzard comes into the fray now and nudges one of the Raptors as it makes headway to the middle of the arena, and pushes it towards the flame pit, which blazes hungrily! The other Raptor is hot in pursuit and before Blizzard completes its task it's slammed into by the Raptor! It's not done much to Blizzard but it's phased it enough to allow thee other Raptor to escape...running straight into Heroin's mighty weaponry!

              CRASH!!!

              It's the same Raptor as before who got nailed, and it's LOST THE ENTIRE SIDE PANEL! Look at that, just sheared right off with such ferocity, and said ferocity is enough to pinball the Raptor across the arena, off the wall opposite, and a few feet away from the wall! The Raptor looks like it's struggling to move...its partner goes over to try and help it but now Heroin and Blizzard are closing in...evidence of a team-up? And nope, there's no more movement from Raptor #1, so The Watcher is over again to make things final!
              1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

              CEASE!

              Gamma-Rex needs some 'gamma correction', while Pack Raptors were more like pack rats!
              Heroin and Blizzard MW advance to Round 2!

                Wow, we're at a fourth Heat Final and no hypo yet! Isn't that amazing?! :P

                Samuel: Grr...Sideswipe knocked the drum motor out a bit but I've fixed that now.
                Melissa: Scared about your opponent?
                Samuel: I eat wedges for breakfast.
                Melissa: Wouldn't that hurt your teeth?
                Samuel: Not Paralyzation's.
                Melissa: Good point! And your response to that, Mr Politzi?
                Tony: Well he certainly won't eat my wedges if he can't get his drum in and I'm not going to let him. :P

                Melissa: Let's just get to the arena. Ya wai.

                Paralyzation 2 (7) vs. Novastorm

                Roboteers, stand by...

                House robots: Count Bleck, as maddening as ever, and Damocles, as frightening as ever.

                And so another heat final arrives! It's Novastorm first on the attack, zipping across the arena in a hurry and trying to get to Paralyzation before the drum's spun up! Unfortunately, you're too late, Mr. Tony! That drum's very much up to speed and very much about to cause Novastorm some pure unadulterated pain! Novastorm applies the brakes as hard as he can...but is just simply going way too fast to avoid a head-on collision! The said collision isn't very spectacular in terms of noise, as we only get a dull THUNK when the drum smacks into the V-wedges, but in terms of distance, well...hell yeah! Outweighing his opponent by almost 20kg, Paralyzation sends Novastorm flying backwards; the angle of the wedges prevented Novastorm from getting flipped but the sheer power behind the blow and Novastorm's weight disadvantage were enough to catapult it back across the arena! Novastorm thuds near the floor flipper and appears to be a bit shaken up, but is back on the attack immediately, this time trying to go around the 7th seed and avoid the drum completely! So far he's doing a good job of this and is around Paralyzation's side already! Samuel tries to turn but now the tide's about to be turned! Novastorm has found the side of Paralyzation and is shoving it across the arena with all his might! Paralyzation, heavier though he may be, hasn't have the more powerful drivetrain in this fight and is soon scooped up onto the wedge and brought straight into the wall at terrible speed! The gyrometric force keeps Paralyzation stable in the air, but it bounces back several feet from the wall after that and looks very shaken, itself! Tony takes this opportunity to try and get to the side again and repeat the magnificent slam, but Samuel won't hear a word of it! Paralyzation backs away as Novastorm tries to turn around to the rear, and ends up putting himself right in front of Paralyzation! Grasping quickly at his chance, the drumbot slams into the side of Novastorm, finally gaining purchase on the side spikes and ripping them all off! And guess what? That's hardly stopped the drum! Slightly scared, Tony tries to turn and ram the drum out of sheer pressure, but doesn't have a proper chance as Paralyzation moves in again!

                CRASH!

                And this time the collision is massive, in terms of, well, everything! It's sent Novastorm away, spinning, flying, err...generally backwards into the wall with fierce power! It's also sporting some nicely visible scratches in the side armour now! So the 7th seed's weaponry is not at all to be underestimated, less so if you're Novastorm! To his relief, Tony is able to squeeze Novastorm out of there before Paralyzation can move in for the kill! Now Tony is back on the attack, looking to make up for lost time, and he's certainly doing a good job of it! Paralyzation isn't able to keep up with Novastorm's speed and subsequently finds himself on the V-wedges again! With a blast from the motors Novastorm hurtles into Damocles' CPZ, and the house robot greets our 7th-seeded drumbot with a gigantic smack to the other side!

                CRASH!!!

                Hooooo-weeee! Now that's some air! More air than Novastorm got, even! Paralyzation flew over top of Novastorm and landed smack-dab in the middle of the arena, still right side up but now with a badly dented up side panel! Things are looking bad for Paralyzation now, but things are far from looking better for Samuel as Tony brings his invertible rammer into play yet again! Samuel tries backing up again, to throw Tony for a loop, but our two-time veteran isn't fooled! Novastorm keeps going straight and outpaces Paralyzation completely, and now is facing the rear of his opponent! Paralyzation can't turn fast enough, and soon his rear end is on the top of Novastorm's wedge! With glee Tony drives Novastorm straight into one of the Discs of Death, the seed in front!

                CRAAASH!!!!

                MAN, WHAT! A! HIT! Paralyzation 2's drum has been deeply carved into, and missing a few teeth, but the Disc of Death has been taken out of play entirely! One of the teeth is bent up and the whole rotation is just messed up! Of course, the same hit has taken Paralyzation off of the wedge of Novastorm, but oh dear! The drum is not spinning, not after that literally hazardous hit! So this leaves the seed in a very nasty situation indeed! His delight now clearly apparent, Tony drives Novastorm into Paralyzation, easily catching him this time and sending him into the wall, bouncing the seeded robot away along the wall, but Novastorm doesn't stop there! He reaches the empty CPZ and deposits the seed in there! The house robots immediately vacate their patrol zones, smelling blood, and Novastorm backs the hell away quickly! However, he doesn't count on Paralyzation's drivetrain recovering almost as quickly and heading out of the CPz in the other direction! Novastorm goes after Paralyzation but just barely misses him as Paralyzation spins off to the side, and catching Novastorm's side unguarded, Paralyzation pushes him into the wall with the stationary drum. It doesn't do much though, and soon Novastorm moves around to the side of his foe and pushes him across the arena into the pit release button...just missing it! Realizing this, Tony puts the drive in reverse, and the button is hit. Novastorm now works to try and get the elusive Paralyzation towards the ever-lowering pit, but the seed isn't seeded 7th for nothing! It manages to evade Tony's attack again and pushes Novastorm into the other empty CPZ, and Count Bleck is out of his CPZ immediately this time. Paralyzation holds Novastorm there as long as he can, but eventually cannot do so anymore and Novastorm gets away...only to be greeted by a horrible spinning ring!

                CRASH!!!

                With malice Count Bleck smashes Novastorm into the wall and tears into the 3.5mm Hardox wedge, gashing it up severely and forcing Novastorm into the corner wall, and in behind he is greeted by a ram from Paralyzation, and is stuck! However, Novastorm's greater drive kicks in and he slowly forces Count Bleck away, but the house robot drives up onto the wedge he so scarred, and is now at the mercy of Novastorm! This was not intentional, and Paralyzation is ramming Novastorm from behind, so Tony doesn't exactly know what to do here. Damocles hasn't moved from his CPZ this time and The Watcher remains erect and unmoving in his spot near the arena saws. What's a roboteer to do? The only thing he can do: move forward! And that's exactly what Tony does, pushing Count Bleck along the wall slowly and eventually into the CPZ opposite. Count Bleck breathes flame but can do nothing else in this predicament, but Damocles now has moved since they are in another CPZ. Samuel won't leave Tony alone though, and Paralyzation is just...well, let's not go into detail. Anyway they're held there and Damocles...attacks Paralyzation?!

                CRASH!!!

                What was that for? Paralyzation wasn't even in the CPZ! Oh yes! That's right, The Watcher's piping angry now! He moves over to Damocles, and there it is! The red card! Back to your CPZ, on the double! Damocles sulks back to his corner, but now Paralyzation's 2 wheels are more exposed than ever! The side panel's gone! What an unfair treatment! And this, of course, has allowed Novastorm to escape the CPZ! Count Bleck gratefully accepts the ground his wheels have found and breathes more flame to vent his feelings, but Paralyzation gets out of there before the house robot can do much else. And for all the damage the competitors have received, they still look to be about at full drive power here! Novastorm is again trying to get around Paralyzation but the seeded machine again proves to have the manoeuvrability advantage by deftly sidestepping the assault and moving to attack Novastorm's side, but can't do much because the drum is taken down...or can he? No, he can't: just as Samuel sees the pit, Tony drives backwards and avoids a pitting. Paralyzation chases him down but is wedged immediately and brought to the wall! WHAM! Another earth-shattering collision and Paralyzation bounces awa - is that...the drum's spinning again! Not fully, but it's managing to keep a decent speed going! Tony can't believe it, and nor, apparently, can Samuel. Tony reacts first and tries to get around Samuel, but Novastorm is now starting to show signs of fatigue and Paralyzation is able to keep the drum pointed at Novastorm. Taking advantage of his opponent's weariness, Samuel moves in. The confrontation is not as great as the previous ones but it's enough to tip Novastorm onto his back. Novastorm turns and rams Paralyzation, catching the drumbot's side off-guard and slams him into an empty CPZ again, but again Novastorm's slight fatigue is enough to slow the hit down for Paralyzation to recover quickly, and THUNK! The tired drum catches the side of Novastorm that still has spikes, and rips one off, and then another before Novastorm gets away. The American machine wades outside of the CPZ, but finding Count Bleck approaching again gets out of there, Paralyzation likewise and in doing so gaining the advantage! Or does he? Novastorm flies into Paralyzation, takes the drum like a champ and flings Paralyzation into the CPZ! Unfortunately, trying a last minute get-your-opponent-in-the-CPZ-and-escape-yourself-in-the-nick-of-time tactic doesn't quite work for Tony, as Count Bleck just catches the front of Novastorm's side!

                CRASH!

                It isn't a very big hit, and it hit the wedge actually, but Novastorm's flung back anyway! And it gives Paralyzation a chance to escape, which he does. But now Paralyzation itself is looking very weary and can't seem to spin the drum up enough to cause any monumental impact...similarly, Novastorm's fatigue has worsened, he's traveling at nearly half-speed and can't seem to wedge Paralyzation properly. Bleck nudges them both with the spinning ring and glazes them with his flames.

                10...9...8...7...

                With time running out, Novastorm backs off and attempts to ram Paralyzation again, but Paralyzation escapes and tries to spin up the drum again; unfortunately it fails as it's again stopped!

                6...5...4...

                Novastorm catches Paralyzation and begins to move it across the arena. Paralyzation however turns about and finds the side of Novastorm, pushing it across the arena itself.

                Paralyzation smashes Novastorm into the wall and holds him there...

                CEASE!

                Well, we haven't had a judges decision for a while in the heavyweight category! A very well-fought contest from both parties, but only one can claim that fourth spot in the semis!

                  Right, let's move on to the fifth heat! I give ye...two fights!

                  Fight 1
                  Under Pressure (9) vs. Elizabeth

                  From Enschede, Holland, seeded number 9...Under Pressure!
                  Had a great final with Welsh robot Monsoon Season in our mini-tournament. Not to be taken lightly.

                  Melissa: Martijn, welcome back!
                  Martijn: Ey.
                  Melissa: You're not gutted by your loss a few days ago?
                  Martijn: We were close, but Monsoon was the greater robot that day. However we're definitely looking to go all the way here.
                  Melissa: And what do you think of the competition?
                  Martijn: WHEELS. They look tasty.
                  Melissa: So you're quite confident about this battle?
                  Martijn: Quite.

                  You'll know all about this Tough-As-Nails inspired machine by now. Two sets of claws, one wedges and cancels the opponent's traction, the other pierces and makes a mess of things. 3.5mm Hardox protects just about everything, including the 5mm titanium maiin body. However the set-up isn't quite as lethal inverted and it's quite cumbersome.

                  C&B1: Didn't compete.
                  C&B2: Didn't compete.
                  C&B3: Made it to the semis only to be defied at the last by Ge5orce; was flipped into the pit just 4 seconds before the match ended.

                  God save the Queen...

                  Melissa: Now that is a unique machine.
                  Liam: You think so? Thanks!
                  Melissa: And how will it win the tournament?
                  Liam: By whacking anything it encounters repeatedly with this nice blade, gives out about 3kJ of energy each hit.
                  Melissa: That's quite a lot! What are you most dreading out there?
                  Liam: Uhm...my blade ripping off?
                  Melissa: Yeah...wouldn't be as effective without it, would it?
                  Liam: Yes, but I'll make sure to keep it working the entire match.
                  Melissa: Then good luck, and make some noise!
                  Liam: I shall, thanks again.

                  A 5mm Hardox body protects the front and the 2 big juicy wheels, and connects to a front plow. Its weapon is a ghastly knife-like blade designed to smack opponents into oblivion, and can work as a side thwack with those side spikes on it. PERM-powered, has a very high speed, but looks very uncontrollable and might suffer from weapon inaccuracy as all overhead weapons do.

                  Under Pressure, ready to get back in control here, and immediately is buffeted by the huge speed of Elizabeth early on! Unfortunately the force of Elizabeth's charge carries it too far and although it gets under the claw of Under Pressure it blows out from under it and into the wall behind! Martijn moves in now and Liam...backs the blade into Under Pressure? Well hey! Looks like the claws can't seem to get any grip on the blade, heh heh. Elizabeth sneaks away as Under Pressure opens its jaws again, but the knifed axlebot makes a surprise turn into Under Pressure's side, sliding under the claw and this time carrying the crusher into the wall with great force! It does however bounce the 9th seed off the wall and out of reach of the hungry blade of Elizabeth; Martijn goes on the attack again as Elizabeth backs away, but Liam's bot is just way too fast for Martijn to catch! That also means that Elizabeth is way too fast for precise control here and it ends up powersliding after a swing around the arena saws in the middle. As it turns to re-orient itself, Under Pressure finally catches it, but the width of Elizabeth makes it hard for Martijn to gain purchase and Liam escapes yet again, Elizabeth giving Under Pressure a thwack in the side claw for its efforts. To say Martijn is not impressed yet is very true, however. He calmly moves his crusher forward as Elizabeth swings about and attempts an attack on his side. As she swings around, Under Pressure turns, catches a glancing thwack with the upper claw, and moves in against the main body.

                  Having actually caught his opponent this time, Under Pressure sinks the claws in firmly, and now the Hardox is being breached! Oh dear! It's penetrating the wheel now too! Elizabeth is stuck on Under Pressure at a weird angle, but that's all Under Pressure needs to destroy the wheel! The wheelguard didn't help it at all! With an extra-firm grip on its opponent, Under Pressure heads for the pit release, but Elizabeth starts to use its blade to repeatedly smack the top of Under Pressure! As Martijn gets to it, one of the claws is taking a huge beating, dents are appearing in it very fast! The pit descends, and Martijn hurriedly tries to pit his opponent. However all that pounding's take its toll on the claw, and it opens! Elizabeth finally escapes...and starts wheeling around in a circle! Well, what happens when half of your drivetrain is taken out? As the Watcher comes over to take a look, I'll let you wise folks guess.
                  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

                  That's right! It means the 9th seed is moving on! But Martijn isn't happy with letting any house robots get their mitts on Elizabeth and keeps going forward. Liam sets his controls down and watches as Under Pressure pits his machine and spares it further damage.

                  CEASE!

                  Elizabeth's rule in the arena comes to a rather pointed end!
                  Under Pressure (9) advances to the Heat E Final!

                  Megabyte vs. MeCannibal 3.0

                  From the United States of America...Megabyte!
                  This infecting realie's back for a fourth try after disappointing earlier bouts.

                  Melissa: So Megabyte is back and ready for another war.
                  Tony: Yep.
                  Melissa: How are you reacting to another spinner?
                  Tony: Megabyte's taken out Tornado Mer, Shrederator, Brutality, etc. I'm not that worried.
                  Melissa: Any repairs you've had to do before coming into the pits?
                  Tony: Nope, we're good to go.
                  Melissa: Great! Give 'em hell!

                  Megabyte. The name strikes fear into most of its opponents. A ferocious full-body spinner with aluminium armour but titanium blades all around, which have proven to be deadly and can rip apart opponents completely. It has a decent drivetrain, and it also has a self-righting pole, but it's not all that effective...

                  C&B1: Flipped out of the arena by Tails in Round 2.
                  C&B2: Ganged up on by Turbulence and Hacked Off Ha-ka in Round 1.
                  C&B3: Made another Round 1 exit when the champ and Ge5orce decided to team-up on it; Ge5orce flipped it out.

                  From Orpington, in Kent...MeCannibal 3.0!
                  A ring-spinning shuffler...again.

                  Melissa: So what have you learned from the previous war?
                  Paul: That MeCannibal doesn't like flippers. :P
                  Melissa: And you're up against one of the most ridiculously feared spinners out there.
                  Paul: Megabyte? Great! I should rip him apart in no time! Look what Typhoon 2 did.
                  Melissa: All right, you seem confident enough, good luck to you.
                  Paul: Thanks.

                  It's a ring-spinning shuffler...with a twist! It has a skirt running around it that spoilers flippers...didn't prove too effective against Firestorm last time, though. It's got decent drive and good armour, but it's obviously slow, being a shuffler. Will it consume itself in the battle ahead?

                  C&B1: Didn't compete.
                  C&B2: Didn't compete.
                  C&B3: Stopped working after a while, when Firestorm V stalled the ring and flipped it all around the arena.

                  Roboteers, stand by...

                  And so our spinners spin up to full speed and approach each other. Megabyte has the greater speed but MeCannibal seems to have the greater power, and the skirt is up. Suddenly it comes down and MeCannibal stops moving! Tony, about to smack the skirt, thinks better to himself and Megabyte halts just before hitting MeCannibal. Now Paul starts getting nervous; if he doesn't move, The Watcher will come over and count him out, but if he does move, Megabyte will move in and attack the skirt. And indeed The Watcher wheels over to check on MeCannibal. Paul gathers his courage and lifts the skirt up to move...Tony reacts immediately and Megabyte strikes!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  And that's the sound of Megabyte connecting with titanium and MeCannibal connecting with diddly! The skirt's ripped to hell and it definitely won't be as effective now! MeCannibal however is still spinning, but it can't approach Megabyte quick enough before the RFL monster is back up to speed! It comes back over and smacks into the C&B3 Heat Finalist again!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  And this time, both robots have hit the other's weaponry, and the sparks here are worth telling! Megabyte's looking to be okay, but MeCannibal isn't looking too good, on account of its ring being stationary! Something inside of MeCannibal must have snapped! So much for that PU foam. And now Megabyte's looking for blood! Paul lowers the skirt again, but Tony comes in anyway!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  The skirt is torn off completely now, exposing its workings, as both bots are flung away! MeCannibal gets sent onto the arena spike which flips him right over...hey the ring's spinning again! I guess it was only temporary. Megabyte however hasn't suffered a problem yet, having spun up and dodged the arena saws to get back to MeCannibal. And for the fourth time, they collide in epic fashion!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  Megabyte gets sent into the wall nearby, while MeCannibal's thrown into the middle of the arena - what's this?! MeCannibal is missing a tooth from its ring! It's broken off! Where's the tooth, you ask? Well - aaaaahahahaha! Oh dear. Megabyte found the missing tooth and smacked it flying across the arena., and there it goes, bouncing off the walls, that lone tooth. Well, it really looks like MeCannibal can't spin up properly now, so it's only a matter of time! Megabyte pours on the aggression and collides full-tilt with the damaged spinning ring of MeCannibal!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  The 8mm Hardox takes the hit but remains steady, and Megabyte is deflected into the middle of the arena! MeCannibal is still moving, but for how long? It's trying to move towards the pit release button, but its progress is slow. Seeing this, Tony goes to move Megabyte across the arena and in front of MeCannibal, but -

                  CRASH!!!!

                  OH NO! Megabyte just hit one of the arena saws by mistake!!! Got too near and it popped up, but Megabyte smashed into it! The saw isn't going down now, nor spinning, but nor is Megabyte!!! Tony is completely shocked by this, he couldn't believe the saws just did that. In that event, however, MeCannibal reaches the pit release button and nudges it, opening the pit! Now MeCannibal heads towards the pit, and Paul's intention is clear; lure the fellow spinner into the pit! Easier said than done, Mr. Cuomo! Megabyte comes flying in and hits MeCannibal with a ram of sorts, but can't seem to really push MeCannibal. The shuffler tries to shuffle around Megabyte and try to push him down, but Tony drives Megabyte back around Paul's machine and - whoa! Megabyte's spinning again now! Talk about weapon revivals! Tony is pleasantly surprised and Paul is full of icy dread; whatever the outcome, it's not at all in his favour now as Megabyte comes forward!

                  CRASH!!!!

                  And MeCannibal eats pit bottom as he's smashed directly into the hole, and Megabyte goes flying into the middle of the arena, spinning about to fight another day!

                  CEASE!

                  MeCannibal, you Lame.
                  Megabyte advances to the Heat E Final!

                    No real tactics for Revolver, other than to trundle aboue, smack people's sides and try not to get hit itself. If I feel brave/stupid, I'll coax Toro into firing that flipping arm and try to tear it off.

                      From Glasgow, Scotland...Revolver!
                      We all live in a Yellow Submarine...oops, sorry. A nasty horizontal disc on this Beatles-inspired box on wheels. Can run either way up, has good armour and good drivetrain. Could be tricky to turn though with those wheels bunched up back there, and the wheels are exposed as with all invertible machines...could its misery be a LP?

                      From Pontefract...Drive!
                      Oh...dear. Another music-inspired robot. :P And it's the thinnest superheavyweight you'll ever find. 9cm in height, with 8 S28-400 MagMotors powering 4WD making for a very powerful machine indeed, and manoeuvrable too with its front castors. A rather-trapezoidal box with a hinged wedge in front, it has 2 tool steel spikes surrounding the wedge to impale opponents. Hardox and Grade 5 titanium armour this beast as well, so don't get under this machine's wheels, or guess 'who's gonna drive you home' in the binbag?

                      From the United States of America...Toro!
                      This Battlebots Season 4 champion is no bull; it's got a wickedly powerful flipping arm and a heavy one at that. Steel and polycarbonate armour are the main defensive materials on the Inertia Labs robot, and it can push you around all day with its massive rear end. However it's known to have reliability problems.

                      From Canada...Ziggy!
                      Like its fellow flipper Toro, Ziggy has powerful weaponry, but unlike Toro, its flipper is a 4-bar mechanism that sends opponents away as well up in the sky! Fast and heavily armoured, it'll show you around the arena before flipping out, as several RoboGames superheavyweights have found out! It has had trouble keeping its weaponry operating, though.

                      Roboteers, stand by...

                      Superheavyweights? We'd better call in King Leer and Exa-Gore-Ic to deal with them, then.

                      Superheavies, AWAY!
                      Toro and Drive have the fastest start, and Drive heads straight for Toro! The bull isn't really concerned and rushes out to meet him head-on! As Ziggy shoots out and Revolver's disc spins up, Drive and Toro collide in the middle of the arena, barely avoiding the arena saws, but it's Toro who prevails here and the flipper gets underneath Drive's hinged wedge! Before Toro can do much, however, Drive...drives backwards, only to meet an aggressive Ziggy and gets ridden under immediately! With a flick, Ziggy throws Drive across the arena, and Drive collides with the floor with a rather wincing CRUNCH. There seems to be a team-up here between Toro and Ziggy, as Martijn and Samuel are talking in their booth. Drive is at it again, however, and this time manages to get right up underneath Toro's flipping arm, but with another ram from Ziggy gets pushed off-course and Toro's free. At this point, Revolver enters the scene, flywheel spun up and looking deadly! Steven decides that Ziggy would make a fine target and heads straight for it! Ziggy doesn't seem to be interested in Revolver however and continues to harass Drive, who's just been given a massive toss by Toro into an empty CPZ! Before Drive can re-orient, Ziggy scoops it up, and lets fly an enormous flip! Drive sails over the barrier and ends up out of the arena very quickly indeed! After a tense second of disbelief, Joey sighs and sets down his controls. Steve looks perturbed, seeing how fast the two flippers disposed of the rammer, but gathers his courage and drives Revolver straight towards Toro, who turns about. Bad move, Toro?

                      CRASH!!!

                      The Hardox teeth smack against the flipping arm of Toro and carve a nice slice right into it, as Toro is flung deep into the CPZ! Ziggy takes advantage of Revolver's momentary recovery time and slides under Steve's machine! Taking it to the arena wall, Ziggy lets fly an enormous shot...but fails to get Revolver completely over the fence! Revolver bounces away and tries to get the blade spinning up again but an angry Toro is now in front of him and gets under the disc before it even has time to spin! Another flip sends Revolver against the arena wall, but it slides off rather quickly! However Ziggy is after it and pushes it into Exa-Gore-Ic's CPZ nearby, shoving the disced bot into the jaws of the house robot! Well...ah, there we go. Exa-Gore-Ic's jaws are wide open now and can crush the daylights out of Revolver, but Toro and Ziggy have other plans! Both of them rush to the opposite end of the arena and collide with King Leer! Could this be another house robot rebellion? As King Leer tries to push them away, Toro gets under and tries to flip it! And just barely succeeds! King Leer's turned turtle, the blades thwacking uselessly! The Watcher, after careful monitoring, decides he doesn't want to anger the massive flipper robots and decides to check on Revolver...but gets attacked next anyway! Ziggy is under the refbot and with another flick sends it flying out, too! Now no one can count out Revolver, but Revolver's dropped suddenly, and still mobile: Exa-Gore-Ic drives around Revolver and looks to be in a right state after that cheeky assault! But such attention has made both flipps target HIM next! As Exa-Gore-Ic grapples with Toro, Ziggy gets to its side and with one giant toss sends BOTH of them onto their sides! However, Ziggy didn't count on Revolver recovering so quickly, and Steve grins at the distraction as REvolver advances!

                      CRASH!!!

                      Sparks fly and so does Ziggy! Across the arena and into the wall, to be exact! A nice gash in the rear, that is indeed! But Ziggy's still moving perfectly fine! It comes after Revolver but the disced robot dodges and begins spinning up again! Ziggy pursues it, as Exa-Gore-Ic releases Toro, Toro still on its side, but only just. The side spike don't stop from being stacked fully, but - ah! Exactly! The flipper does the rest, over-balancing it! Toro's back in the game, with slightly crumpled sides but definitely still alive! Revolver turns to face Ziggy again, but Toro rushes in and attempts to get around Revolver's side! Steve finds this team-up quite aggravating and moves backwards, but Toro keeps going after it! Ziggy goes to move around the side again and Revolver has to back all the way into the wall to keep its weaponry pointed at its hounding enemies! Now Ziggy rushes him!

                      CRASH!!!

                      Ziggy's front gets slightly dented up, and it gets sent flying back, but the kick-back stops Revolver's disc completely, allowing Toro to move in and get under it without fear! The massive flipper sends Revolver onto the wall, but before it can slide all the way down, Toro gets under it again and with another giant toss, ejects a resigned Revolver from the arena!

                      CEASE!

                      Joey has to Drive home the hard way, while Revolver is more like a broken record now!
                      Toro and Ziggy advance to Round 2!

                      Melissa: And that's it?
                      Martijn: Definitely.
                      Tony: So you're saying that your claws are pretty much indestructible?
                      Martijn: Indeed I am, Tony.
                      Tony: I'll just check out how really indestructible they are when we get robot fighting, how does that sound?
                      Martijn: Fine by me, Tony.
                      Melissa: Fighting words! Let's see if you guys back them up. Let's go!

                      Already - wait a second, was Megabyte's shell spinning before ACTIVATE was called? Have they cheated the system? We may never know, but it's spinning dangerously fast already and there's no possible way for Under Pressure to stop it now, unless of course he slams into him! Martijn turns around and exposes the rear end! At this point Megabyte moves forward, on the attack, and looking very, very -

                      CRASH!!!

                      - menacing!!! It's sent the 9th seed spinning away like a top, along with itself! But how about that armour? It's barely taken a dent! And you know what else has barely taken a dent? Megabyte's weapon speed! It's hardly slowed at all, but in comes Martijn and Under Pressure again to rectify that! Megabyte doesn't back down and bashes itself against the rear armour again!

                      CRASH!!!

                      OUCH! More sparks, but Megabyte's at half speed now and Martijn's bot hasn't been flung as far! Martijn quickly moves in and tries to stop the spinning shell, but the momentum of Megabyte's weaponry spins Under Pressure around, exposing the rear end again! Undaunted, Under Pressure backs into Megabyte and ricochets it into the wall! Megabyte stops spinning fully and Under Pressure chases it with the claws now! But...Megabyte seems quicker! It's escaped the crusher and looking very, very menacing...again! Again, Under Pressure turns and backs towards the full body spinner; the RFL HW champ obliges and greets Under Pressure with a slam!

                      CRASH!!!!

                      Ooooh! NOW there's damage! The crusher's rear has been ripped off completely, exposing the ram! And the force sends Under Pressure whirling away across the arena thrice more! As Megabyte spins back up to devastating speeds, Martijn takes aim at the pit release button and gets to it...but Megabyte is in close pursuit and before Martijn can escape, he's hammered by the spinning shell again!

                      CRASH!!!!

                      Now the ram takes a direct hit! But...it doesn't appear to be damaged, and Megabyte's stopped spinning momentarily! Under Pressure turns about and chases after it, but Megabyte is much too fast and gets away to spin up yet again! Ah, memories of Typhoon 2...now it comes back on the attack, and Under Pressure not wanting the ram to be attacked again approaches with the claws!

                      CRASH!!

                      And in my opinion that was a very good decision! Megabyte is trapped between the jaws, which sustained very little damage, and now they close! Megabyte's traction is removed, the shell pinned between the claws and body and unable to spin up! Martijn is grinning broadily as he has fought the good fight, and takes Megabyte to the pit! Tony is agonized, but tries vainly to fight the grip anyway. It's all for naught, and Megabyte meets the bottom of the pit!

                      CEASE!

                      Megabyte's RAM is in massive need of a power surge!
                      Under Pressure (9) advances to the Series Semi-Finals!

                        Okay, to get this thing over to the semi-finals quickly I'm probably going to take what tactics I have and write fights non-stop until then. So if you want to get additional tactics in, DO IT QUICKLY!

                        Oh, and please reply in the thread so I know you're reading the fights. It gets kind of lonely in here without other people.

                          With Or Without You vs. Magnitude
                          For this fight I shan't bother with lowering the front horn, I'll merely keep it ground scraping and use it to lift either one of the clusterbots up should I encounter one of them. I'll try and drive defensively but be offensive when I have the chance, focusing on keeping my wedge pointed towards With You as I believe that poses more threat of getting under me, and when I go on the offensive I shall go for whoever is nearest and generally flip either cluster when/if I get wedged under it. If I can't get Without You flipped over I'll try and get With you out of the arena or into the house robots!

                          Shovearound 2.5 vs. Gabriel IV
                          I think my nose should be able to get under the forks due to their shape, I think if I ram into it my nose is far more likely to go between the forks than up one of them and from there I can wedge further underneath and flip. Nonetheless I'll try and aim away from the forks, and use the nose to get under the skirts and get well under it and flip. If flipping starts to prove impractical I shall go into thwackbot mode and try to warp the skirts with the spikes so I can get underneath them easier. As with WOWY, get it flipped out of the arena as soon as is practical, or into the house robots.

                          Ge5orce (4) vs. N³
                          Usual tactics here - go for the sides of the main wedge and get underneath there, using the forks to hold it if necessary, and then immediately bring the crusher down with full power - 8 tonnes of force on the crusher should outweigh 1.6 tonnes on his flipper and prevent him from escaping like that, and from there I can hopefully keep those wheels off the ground and carry the lovely Ge5orce over the threshold of the pit to spend a happy marital life doing...something or other. Probably spending the rest of their operational lifespan raising a new brood of hydrostatically powered flippers?

                            PsycloniZer vs. Panicking Still?

                            I€™m going to target the sides first. Attack the side skirts and try to cause as much damage to them as possible. I will go for the lifting forks next. Hopefully a couple of strong hits could break them. There are plenty of corners to hit, so just attack it until sufficient damage is caused and/or it is immobilised.

                            Gehenna vs. Lime-y

                            I think Gehenna is more manoeuvrable, so I will try and stay at the sides of Lime-y. My aim is to get under the sides and use the wedge shape to push Lime-y around, preferably into the hazards and the house robots. I won€™t bother using the flipper unless I have to. Only flip every now and then and try to dominate the match by wedging and pushing around. Save the flips for self-righting.

                            Ge5orce vs. N³

                            This should be good. No time for hanging around though. Go straight in, get under that 10mm clearance and start launching. If I can keep this battle short and fast-paced I should be able to dominate it. Once the first flip is in, I can take control of the match and try and throw it over the fence as soon as possible. Big and powerful flips, please. I hate crushers.

                              OK, Venus tactics. *69's a pretty fearsome spinner, so the best I can do is charge it head-on, stop it spinning before it gets too dangerous and try to get that enormous plate underneath it. If need be, I'll smack it into a wall so I can completely impale it on my prongs. If I can do that, I'll immediately try and dump it in the pit, lifting and gobbling where appropriate.

                              Oh and blah for Revolver. Happiness is a warm gun, my foot.

                                An interesting robot but I shall try to beat him on aggression. My weapon acts quickly. Fast in, fast out. Apart from that, he's mainly a lifter, SHA has got tracks all over so merely lifting SHA will not let you control SHA, I will simply drive off if he does that. Plus, if he gets under, make sure he gets under where my drum is, so that he will damage himself in the process. Get the weapon in as much as possible.

                                Dantu vs. >>>Liar 2<<<

                                Axlebot shape, hard to control for a lifter, but a flipper like Liar can get under and launch it, high, and watch it come down. Avoid that disc with my 2WDness and get it OOTA ASAP
