You already know how it fares in combat, you saw it in the annihilator....
And Paul has already said you cant change it.

Sorry to pop in again, but I need some advice on how to construct a walking vapourbot.

By walking, Im not really fussy as by what way, although I must stress that Im not too keen on having a shufflebot.

If you had a system with linear/hydraulic actuators in multiples of two (one for raising/lowering and one for forward/back on each leg), that might work, altrhough itd be veeeeerrryyyyy slllllooooowwwww.

Or you could just steal another realie:

              Miss Struts
              Stomp
              Mammoth
              Anorachnid

What about if I had a walking-system like Clawed Hopper and Gammatron had? With the two rims that made them skip across the arena? Not sure if you count that as a walker, but it is to me.

The Gammatron system wouldnt count either, as I recall it ran off a continuous rotary motion, and it violates the rule on each leg having multi-axis movement...although obviously its up to the tournament writes what theyll accept.

I think the only true walkers there have been are Mechadon and Miss Struts, out of the ones that have been on TV anyway. I was going to design a walker myself, basically a 200kg hardox brick with no weapons...

What did Arnarchy use? That was effective.
Am I dreaming or did some walkers use linear actuators?

Jeroen, who also made Tough as Nails also made a 6 legged walker with linear actuators. It was very slow though and was never ment for robot combat.

Mechadon from team Sinister is probably the best example of a true walker that is linear actuated.

Notes: If I ever want a heavyweight cluster bot I can duplicate this one to become Dos Diablos. If I want a super heavyweight cluster bot there can be three/four of these depending on the rules.
