  • I think the curved sides is a good idea, I would imagine it will deflect the energy quite well.

    • well im hoping the curved side will give the drum/ vertical spinners less to dig in to

right bit of an update got the actuator fitted in and allot of the welding i now done

next i need to get its new face made and make proper mounts for the LED/eyes, make a few interchangeable scoops, make the top plates, mount everything, paint it and wire it up

oh and some how make some 20mm long spike out of ti or carbon steel with a m4-m6 tap so will probably have to be 15mm diameter as i can really trust the goth spike to hold up anymore

      • Looking good! The curved sides will work well at deflecting damage, but I would be mindful of drums for getting a bite - I don't know if it will so much with the fact that they are curved, but it'll definitely deflect a lot of the damage regardless!

Any plans for electronic upgrades or anything? I remember you mentioned about moving back up to 4S again back at the champs...

        • got a bit more done to scruffy 3 a have plans for scruffy 4

the top plates are only 3mm aluminium but i will be adding some 5mm hdpe to the and the front scoop will be more like scruffy 2s but probably wider, i will be going back to a 4s and adding a gyro so it will have the power of scruffy 1 with the control of scruffy 2 hopefully..... also the scoop will be interchangeable between a couple of designed

night fury 2 has taken a bit of a back burner due to needing about £50 of materials and the fact that its taking me ages to get my heavyweight and scruffy 3 going but as it will probably be the easiest build i will probably look at ordering the parts soon

          couple of update pics

                  • What esc's will you be running? still going to be sticking with the cheapo chinese ones?

                    • probably they have done me well so far and with a gyro in the mix it should improve the handling

                      • Ryobi make awesome drills, the most underrated in my opinion. They last me longer than dewalt so obviously have decent 'boxes in. Will definitely be giving them a try next time.

                        • I'll be using Ryobis for Hatchet 2's drive after seeing how well they've performed in Scuffy

                          • well the ones in night fury have had nothing done to them for 2 years and there still going but i have had to tighten the 2 screws that hold the motors in place as i noticed they were starting to move a bit when i dismantled it
