a 2:1 reduction is far too fast. Youd have virtually no control. I know we are on the same team, so Id thought Id better tell you

Wheel diameter acts as another reduction. RPM doesnt change, but km/h does. One should note though that with 20 cm wheels, his robot would actually be going 56.6 km/h, instead of 29. (Using Eteks at 3000 rpm as a reference, since Im too lazy to look it up to the tens digit).

Proves my point. 59Km/H is far too fast to keep under control

I might change the drive system on Son of Wedgie to an inverted double transect axle, if I can be bother to word it right.

In other news, the Aussies Loss to Somerset at cricket. I suggest its the added zider that makes Somerset unbeatable: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/4095124.stmhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/4095124.stm

yeah, everyones right about the reduction, so here is the same robot, but then how it should be ;p

note that Ill enter this INSTEAD of my previous machine (although theyre generally the same, only with a different reduction, AND I also modified the angle with the floor btw)

I do love the smell of wheel spins in the morning.

400 Amps being drawn to power each motor, I also smell burning wires.

I still say there is no need for 50+ horsepower, because its an arse to put down and whats the point, if you cant get underneath the other robot? A 2 horsepower wedge can outpush an 64 horsepower box if the wedge gets underneath and lifts the wheels off the ground or pushes from the side.

Anyway, please feel free to ingore this old fools comments.

                        1) Robots dont do wheel spins, they have grip.
                        2) The whole point of the power is to get under the other robots.
                        3) A 2hp wedge can only push a 64hp rammer if it is under with all four wheels off the ground.
                        4) I shall consider all complaints.
                        5) If you have left, stop comming back and irritating us.
                        6) There is no number 6.
                        7) Goodbye, roll on the next complaint about me.
