Re: Crash & Burn: Mini-Tournament of Death 3
That was my reaction as well

Monsoon Season turns about swiftly and charges again, and this time just manages to clip the bottom ring of Mornington Crescent. The blow is mediocre in terms of quality, though, but nonetheless it turns Monsoon Season aside a bit and gives Mornington Crescent another chance to spin up. That he does, and is now at full speed...but with Monsoon Season's overall slanted shape, I'm afraid that the top spinning ring is about as useful as Darke Destroyer's chisel-like blades.
Daniel turns his machine about again and tries to stick his robot's ramming plate in, but that damned ring spinner of Steve's is just too swift to catch; thus, Monsoon Season ends up completely blowing by Mornington Crescent again in a Welsh blur! The Scotsman moves in to make a blur of his own!
Anyway, there's a massive gash down the side of Monsoon Season, to rival that of the one on his rear, but Mornington Crescent isn't able to fully cut through the armour, it being absurdly thick, so Daniel's much in the game still. He directs his robot across the arena, and it zooms over and smacks Mornington Crescent, hard, with the wedge. Steve was unable to get away that time and the resulting blow on Monsoon Season's ramming plate is wholly deflected away, sending the ring spinner flying across the arena in a flash of white! Thirsty for blood, the Welsh flipper pursues. Steve moves to evade again but forgets the arena saws are in the way and accidentally drives right over them...BZZT! Sparks litter the arena. Steve doesn't have time to recollect his wits before 110kg of massive black and green box wedge catapults into his precious ring spinner a second time, driving it fully onto the wedge, and takes it all the way to the arena wall! And hey! Would you look at that, the upper ring of Mornington Crescent is still spinning aimlessly!
Just before Monsoon Season reaches the wall, the flipper activates, tossing Mornington Crescent up, up, and...AND IT'S OVER! Mornington Crescent is out of the arena and HEY! Well...it flew out of the arena still spinning its upper ring, which immediately took out the polycarb wall beyond, on contact! You bet your arse that Steve'll be payin' for that later! Oh what an insult to injury! The house bots look on, forlorn. Such a shame, eh?
But it's Liam who strikes first, avoiding the claws, striking the middle of Under Pressure and tossing it! Unfortunately, it just sends the crusher flying, not quite flipping it. Under Pressure lands with a clatter but Apocalypse is back in its face, and takes it to the arena wall, pinning it on the wedge. Strangely stuck in a downward angle, Under Pressure tries closing the claws but they're not flush with the ground now and they merely go over Apocalypse's sides. Liam decides this is a perfect opportunity to strike and fires the flipper again; Martijn's bot flies almost terminal, ungraciously crashes onto the arena barrier and falls back in, only on top of Apocalypse! Well...not quite. One of the wheels is stuck on the barbs on the right side of Apocalypse, but the other is stuck in the air, the proportioned claw hugging the floor and keeping the wheel hovering. Under Pressure tries to get off the barbs, but it's way too late for that; Apocalypse turns and attacks, and is finally, finally able to get the right leverage to slide just under the crusher's front and send Under Pressure onto its back! With its weaponry largely nullified, Under Pressure plays the brave soldier and goes after Apocalypse, who returns the favour by smashing into him again, and starts pushing him towards the arena wall. But before Apocalypse can do this, he stops. ...aha! Under Pressure's claws have got him! But how? Well the finely pointed tips have slid under Apocalypse, trapping him! The tide seems to have turned! Liam never expected this, but tries to use the barbs-on-lifters to get away, but no go, I'm afraid! Martijn, wanting to get this over with quickly as possible, goes straight for the pit release button, and slams into it. With the pit opened, Liam panics a bit and fires the flipper...well hey, what do you know, he's free! The flipper was against the main body and pushing the flipper against it sent Apocalypse through the claws and back into play!
Under Pressure's, well...torn off the pit release button, to put it as blunt as a dull axeblade. Envy reverses away from the pit and wheels about; the pit opens. Envy goes over to the pit, still carrying Under Pressure in that same sort of Heimlich manoeuvre, and...oh dear. Oh dear. Oh dear oh...dear? Wha...correct me if I'm wrong, but...I don't see how Envy is going to get Under Pressure into the pit here. And nor does Shane! Envy's got his scoop over the edge of the pit, but he can't do anything as Under Pressure is stuck on the open flipper! Under Pressure's claws open...oh you wee git you. :P Under Pressure dropped the pit release button into the pit. Insult our arena, will you?! Well...we'll settle that one later. Anyway, The Watcher seems to be necessitating on whether to free them. Apparently he's made his decision, because he's coming over swiftly. However, Envy doesn't want the ref's help; turning away from the pit, he drives Under Pressure in a beeline straight towards the wall! With a dull crash, Under Pressure's claws connect with the wall and send him backwards over Envy, free at last! Envy, having also driven into the wall, backs away and spins around very quicky, to ward off any opportunities, but there's a problem! And a big one it is, too! Envy's flipper is still stuck, even without the weight of Under Pressure stuck on top of him! Shane taps the flipper switch on his controls a few times fiercely, but there's no response!
The force also has spun the two bots around right quick, but no internal damage seems to have been done to Under Pressure, as far as we know. Seeing the great gash in Envy's rear from his control booth, Martijn now abandons his plan of pitting Envy for the moment, having remembered it seconds before, and plans to cause Envy as much damage as possible! He spins Under Pressure (and Envy) back around to face Count Bleck, and waits for the Count to spin up again; the said Count emits a long blast of flame which sweeps over Envy's rear, reflecting off the black and silver paintwork, and quite possibly into Envy through that gash. Now Martijn moves in on the house robot again.
