      Meh.

Im sure ya all know by now, but Im feeling that now-familiar mood of temporarily having lost interest in writing fanfic battles. Wont continue C&B3 or finish HRR3 right now, but when I feel like writing battles again, I will, mkay?

      • The Crash & Burn Tournament 3

Well its been a little while in coming, almost a month, but the Heat D Final has finally arrived.

        *in the pits*

Melissa: Your 7th seeding is on the line, Chris, can you defend it for this fight?
Chris: Oh hell yeah. Lifter again for this fight, gonna lift him into the pit, or wherever deemed advantagous for me.
Melissa: Not worried about the flipper?
Chris: Actually yeah, but I reckon the lifter can deal with it.
Melissa: All right, good on you€¦
Chris: Come on, I won€™t bite, please can I have your number€¦?
Melissa: Augh. Right, I€™ll be over here€¦at the Stickler table with the scary robot Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics!
        Daniel: Veeeery scaaaaary€¦
Melissa: Ha ha. Right. Any tactics other than €˜flip him out€™?
Daniel: Nope. Although I do fancy him on his back first, since I know he€™s got a lifter in one of his set-ups€¦
Melissa: Right, good luck to you! Let€™s see what€™s going down!

        ----

JP: Right. We have a bloody good flipper, versus a versatile rammer. What do you reckon?
Kody: For myself, I see Cyclone Force going over the wall...
JP: I actually would go for the 7th seed because there€™s quite a bit of area for Cyclone Force to attack Pure Evil. Pure Evil can only use a relatively small space in the front to attack, and Cyclone Force is faster, so I feel Pure Evil will get pitted.
Kody: Do remember that Pure Evil can turn pretty fast with its drive, so it can keep Cyclone Force in check. I still say Pure Evil will get that robot out of the arena.
JP: Well let€™s go down to the arena for the final!

        ----

        Round 3
Cyclone Force 3 (7) vs. Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics

        ----

        Cyclone Force 3!
Very capable rammer, this. Invertible, too, and could go all the way this time.

        Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics!
Quite a good flipper, I€™d say, but can it progress against this Round 4 marker?

        Roboteers, stand by€¦

The house robots are Shunt and Matilda for this time around.

        3€¦
        2€¦
        1€¦
        ACTIVATE!

The Heat Final of D is underway and Cyclone Force 3 has the quickest start, cantering across the arena to meet with a rather startled Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics! The resulting collision between the two sends Pure Evil back quite a bit, and owing to this, Cyclone Force is able to slide underneath the flipper of Pure Evil and lift it over! Pure Evil€™s flipper fires, sending it right back over, but onto Cyclone Force€™s lifter again! And now Cyclone Force, wanting to send its opponent some prolonged suffering, takes Pure Evil into Matilda€™s CPZ! Matilda€™s tusks come into play and lift up Pure Evil€™s rear end, as Cyclone Force backs off and goes for the pit release button. Obviously he wants to end his opponent€™s run before vice-versa happens, but Pure Evil fires its flipper, and the force is enough to tilt Daniel€™s bot off the tusks of the warthog house robot, as Cyclone Force slams into the release button. Pit open! Pure Evil is coming right for the 7th seed, just as Cyclone Force turns around. WHAM! Whoa! Pure Evil got underneath Cyclone Force, and tossed it€¦but not out! It was a side flip, but it€™s sent Cyclone Force twirling into the air like a baton! It thankfully comes back down right side up, and backs off as Pure Evil closes the flipper and comes after Chris€™ Storm 2-alike. Unfortunately for Daniel, Chris comes flying in again and a major bot collision results, in which Cyclone Force sneaks the lifter under Pure Evil€™s flipper and takes it into Shunt€™s CPZ this time! Shunt gives the flipper an axe to the top, but Shunt apparently needs to take some enhancers because that axe did pretty much nothing to phase Pure Evil at all. Of course, because Pure Evil is lifted up, he€™s going to get a lot more axe blows, but Daniel isn€™t going to let that continue and, with a mighty air toss, Pure Evil slides off of Cyclone Force€™s lifter and gets the dickens away.

Feeling quite confident, Chris and Cyclone Force give chase, as Pure Evil swings around, trying to slide the flipper under the side of the 7th seed, but the flipper grazes right over the side and away, deflecting Pure Evil away as Cyclone Force swings right into and out from under him, turning to around to bull rush him again. Pure Evil goes into thwackbot mode again, but can€™t seem to get the flipper under the side, and this time Cyclone Force fully gets the lifter under, and lifts Pure Evil onto its back€¦but not for long, as the big flipper comes into play again, sending Daniel€™s flipper onto its tracks again! Before Cyclone Force can get back on the attack, Pure Evil is sliding around the side of Cyclone Force, trying to get at the rear. Cyclone Force turns quickly, but not quickly enough, as instead of getting under the rear of the 7th seed, Pure Evil slips the flipper under the side, and wasting no time, tosses Cyclone Force straight into the air! Chris is less fortunate this time as Cyclone Force lands inverted, but doesn€™t pause to right itself, driving off before Pure Evil can take advantage of Cyclone Force€™s newfound invertedness. Pure Evil spins around with the flipper shutting, and gives chase, as Cyclone Force heads towards the wall. The lifter (which is facing the wall) extends just before Cyclone Force hits the wall, and sends the 7th seed right side up again! Beautiful! Pure Evil suddenly gangways in€¦but a little too late; Cyclone Force scurries away and Pure Evil hammers its nose into the arena wall. Cyclone Force shows off his zero turning circle again, by spinning around a few times, coming to rest its front end at Pure Evil€™s side€¦and Pure Evil can€™t seem to get its flipper end out from the wall€¦did it wedge itself into the wall shingles? Cyclone Force backs up, and rams into Pure Evil€™s side, and successfully frees Pure Evil from the wall, but also lifting it onto its back again. Pure Evil fires the flipper and self-rights back onto Cyclone Force€™s rear end. Chris decides to express his feelings by reversing across the arena at lightning speed and pounding Pure Evil into an empty CPZ!

Pure Evil isn€™t out yet; it bounces off the wall and away from Cyclone Force as the latter comes after it again, intent on getting it down that pit now. Pure Evil however turns around and€¦ahoy. Pure Evil€™s thwackbot attempt actually pushed it away from the incoming Cyclone Force, and into a very advantageous situation! It drives forward€¦but Cyclone Force is already away across the arena, and Pure Evil flies after it€¦just as Cyclone Force turns around once more€¦major bot collision! Pure Evil slams into Cyclone Force, piledriving it into the arena wall€¦uh oh, Cyclone Force has been wedged! And Pure Evil€™s flipper fires€¦sending Cyclone Force high above the arena wall and into the plexiglass and eventually the camera tracks. Ha-hey! Shunt€™s bolted out and grappled Pure Evil€™s side, lifting it with the scoop! Pure Evil can€™t turn now, and Shunt pushes the naughty flipper straight down the pit! So the house robots did indeed have the last laugh! Ha ha!

        CEASE!

Cyclone Force 3 whirlpools down the drain, though it proved it had quite enough €˜force€™ to be going on with!
Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics advances to the Series Semi-Finals!!!

            +1>Heat E
Another Night at the Bar (9) vs. Death Threat 0.2 vs. Walk Don€™t Run 3€™n a Half vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0: One main plan of victory - flip Death Threat OOTA, like Nitro-Gene did in his first ever fight. Just charge into the claws, and then push him to the edge and flip him over - if he starts to push me, flip so he gets further away from me. Then let Sam and Martijn murder each other, and if one of those two has their weapon stop, go on an all-out offensive to get one out (mainly WDR).

Good luck Danny, Martijn and Samuel

The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Thor vs. Exertion vs. Y4: Bye Y4. And I think that May Tracks may team-up with Exertion on Thor to get revenge for the Chevron Championship. If so - goodbye Thor.

            Heat Winner: May Tracks

Excellent fights Kody - looking forward to this heat

Tactics are to be careful and go for the sides of whoevers nearest/most accessible and shred their tyres a bit. Once Ive got a couple of opponants hobbling, Ill work on OOTAs or pitting them.

PREDICTIONS THAT MAY CONTRADICT ANY THAT I HAVE MADE AT EARLIER POINTS:

ANATB (9) vs. Death Threat vs. Walk Dont Run vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0

Nitro-Gene may actually have a chance here. :P Im sorry but I cant honestly see ANATB doing much other than repeatedly hitting the floor very fast, which is what it will probably end up doing...Death Threat definitely through imo, between WDR and Nitro-Gene will be close though.

The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Thor vs. Exertion vs. Y4: Hmm...Exertion and Y4 the most likely to go out here, probably off the end of May Tracks.

Hmm... I should teamup with Paul here. I could rip off ANATBs wheels and Paul could flip Martijn out of the arena.

Good luck Martijn, Danny, Paul... like you need it.

OK Sam. Ill keep my tactics the same, except get rid of ANATB this time, not WDR3.5.

Another Night will dodge the horizontal clampers most of all, and attack the boxy flipper, flippers have a tough time getting to ANATB in general, especially boxy ones. Attack the horizontal clamper is cool too as long as I dont get attacked by the actual clampers themselves, I hate those . Attack the FBS when needed, especially when Im up to speed and he isnt

                        Death Threats Tactics:

Grab WDR before it can spin up, crush it and pit it.

Then, wait for ABATB to collide with something. Paul, the walls, hopefully not me, whatever. Then grab it before it can spin up, crush it and pit it.
