        Oi! Settle down, you lot!

        ----

        *in the pits*

Melissa: You are up against one of the most powerful flippers ever to grace, or befoul, the warzone. What are your tactics?
Samuel: Dont let him flip me, keep to the sides and rear...and more.
        Melissa: Are you worried?
        Samuel: Ummm...not really.
Melissa: Alright, drum nice and sharpened?
Samuel: Got the cutting wheel right here.
Melissa: You really have come prepared. Right then, over to the Gravity bench...ah here we are. Gravity. You scared?
        Ben: No way.
        WJ: Not a bit.
Melissa: Finished repairing the side armour? I noticed you took quite a buffetting in the second round.
WJ: Yeah, it wasnt as bad as it looked, so were ready to go.
Melissa: Right. Good luck out there.
        WJ: You got it.
        Ben: Ay.
        Melissa: Back to you, boys!

        ----

JP: Right. For me I feel that we have an underdog here. What say you?
Kody: I say that the newcomer wont last long. For me, I say Gravity all the way.
JP: I am inclined to agree, really. Dont forget, Gravity is pretty much one of the most powerful flippers to date. It throws, it tosses, and its even tossed over Growler in one go! Paralyzation 2 barely survived Round 1 in a melee with Gravity, it was being flipped around and everything...
Kody: Exactly. It did manage to get in a few blows but I dont think that will compensate.
JP: Well then I guess what we have to decide is how Paralyzation 2 will exit?
Kody: Out in one flip. Over the fence, mate.
JP: Exactly what I was thinking. Lets see if were right!

        ----

        Gravity!

Reached the Series Semi-Finals in Robot Wars Series 7, but Tornado sent them down the pit.

        Paralyzation 2!

A good newcomer, very strong, but one-on-one with a very powerful flipper...

        Roboteers, stand by...

House robots! Cassius Chrome! Asterix Anarchius! The sound of these terrors shall surely bestow many more exclamation marks in the written words of the warzone!

        3...
        2...
        1...
        ACTIVATE!

And they are definitely off! And Paralyzation 2 is slightly quicker but Gravity has the 2 wheel drive so it can manoeuvre around better, dont forget. But hey! Look at this! A slight drum hit has already knocked over Gravity! Could we see a shock here? Gravity self-rights, but it needs to get away from that spinning drum! Paralyzation now on the attack, Gravity roaming the warzone, trying to...build up some sort of steam but Paralyzation still after it, eh...ah! There, Gravity has found the side of Paralyzation, it came in too fast and let Gravity spin around to the side! And there we go! Gravity gives a huge toss...but not out! Paralyzation bounces on the railing, but comes back in! The newcomer continues to live! For how long though is anyones guess, as the tides have turned in WJs favour! Gravity attacks again, but Paralyzation just manages to slip by, and attack - no! Gravity has eluded the drum with a quick turn and is at the side again! Another toss! Paralyzation must be dizzy, spinning into the air as it comes crashing down onto its back, but Gravity wont leave it alone for a second! Another flip is given to the newbie, and it soars across the arena! Paralyzation cant get anything going in this match! It turns to fight off Gravity...only fo the flipper to come in again before it can attack! But...

        CRASH!

Was it careless? Gravity simply attacked the now inverted drum, not what WJ or Ben had in mind, and the flipper takes the hit, bouncing Gravity into the air slightly before it comes down, and Paralyzation gets away...its after the pit release, obviously, and...shreds into it upon contact. Urgh. Right, another person to bill...and Gravity comes flying in from behind! It smashes into the back of Paralyzation, the tip of the wedge getting right to the drum, and lets fly another gigantic flip, sending Paralyzation flying into the air again - OH NO! Gravitys lifted its front end into the air with that same flip, and beached it onto the arena wall, just near the remains of the release button! Paralyzation seems to be right side up now, and now it sees Gravity perched there! Gravity fires the flipper to try and get itself off the wall, but ends up putting itself onto its back, and very much away from the wall! Paralyzation plows in immediately with the drum, and unexpectedly just as Gravity self-rights!

        CRASH!

Gravity is tossed over, and right near the pit! The tides have turned once more! Gravity self-rights again, but the last shove is enough to send the famed flipper down to its doom!

        CEASE!

Gravitys laws turn against him! The flipper gets drummed up into a state worse than having an apple fall on your head!
Paralyzation 2 advances to the Series Semi-Finals!!!

Cyclone Force 3 (7) vs. Rupture vs. Warhead vs. Pure Evil: Back to Basics: The seed and Rupture are head, shoulders, knees and toes above this lot. Those two to go through.

Liar 2 (23) vs. Inferno vs. You€™re Dreaming vs. Panic Attack: Martyn - fancy a team-up Panic Attack is made of EXTREMELY weak Aluminium armour, so we should cut him up quite quickly, but Liar is my main threat. If Martyn and me team-up, we have good chances of taking off the wheels, as although the wheels may be 6mm Hardox, the axle will be made of weaker stuff, and in Robot SMASH!!, Whirligig 4.5 with its 100kj tore off one wheel quite happily. Our spinners are as strong and stronger than that, so well take out Liar quite easily.
Bottom line - I wish to team-up with Martyn so me and him can both me it through.

              Good luck everyone

                CYCLONE FORCES HEAT
Now, Im safely going to presume that Kody is willing to put the argument we had over in the How Could I Improve thread behind him, and not use it as a guideline. Im only saying this because of a certain previous writer who I got into arguments with because he wouldnt accept my opinions deliberately mis-read my stats to make me lose...it happened quite a long time ago, but I just cant take that risk.

Anyway, as I said, Ill be having the scoop on. Avoid Pure Evil and keep my attentions to Warhead. Get behind it and use it as a battering ram, or simply knock it into submission.

Liar 2 (23) vs. Inferno vs. You€™re Dreaming vs. Panic Attack

I took a close look at both my opponents and noticed for one that Inferno and Youre Dreaming are much alike and neither has a srimech. Also I noticed Infernos weapon is quite detailed and has quite some numbers in it to run through the Team Cosmos kinetic energy calculator, which I did. For the numbers that were not available I was QUITE guillable and what I saw is that the disc puts out 50 kJ at most, and seeing Youre Dreamings weapon is smaller AND lighter his output should be less then that. Either way I want both on their back ASAP.
                      quote:

I am quite sorry but where do you read the axle is weaker than 6 mm Hardox? If its a standard axle its quite a bit bigger than 6 mm (6 mm is quite puny for even a FWs axle). I must admit that I never gave specifics for the axle but tbh no vapour does that. We always assume theres a standard axle and really a standard axle is thicker than 6 mm.

We use 16mm axles on our feathers. Obsidians is close to 50mm solid steel I think.

                                --------

The flipper run has come to an end, as our newest Series Semi-Finalist has drummed his way through three tough rounds. The question is, who will join Ge5orce, Wedge Devolution, and newbie Paralyzation 2 in the Semis? Heat D will answer that for us!

Cyclone Force 3 (7) vs. Rupture vs. Warhead vs. Pure Evil: Back to Basics

From Suffolk, seeded number 7, Cyclone Force 3!
Reached the semis last time, but suffered a Sheer Heart Attack at the fourth hurdle!

Melissa: Right, we have a strong pusher here. Whats the plan?
Chris: Well Ive decided to team up with Daniel against the other two. Im not really that scared of taking the fight to them.
Melissa: And you have the scoop for this fight?
Chris: Thats right. Daniel will take out Rupture so I dont have to worry, and even if I do get flipped, Daniel can right me.
Melissa: All right, then. Have a good fight out there.
Chris: Right. Can I have your phone number, by the way?
                                Melissa: You may NOT.

Oh, for goodness sakes...anyway, the armourment is 11mm titanium, and its 6WD is driven off Lynch motors. It has three set-ups, of which the scoop will be on this time. Its shape is inspired by Storm II but it will tend to have limited control at times. Will the Cyclone lack the Force to blow away the competition a 3rd time around?

                                C&B1: Did not compete.
C&B2: Sent out NSBFR-X in a judges decision, and shredded 15th seed Terrorhurtz with the disc set-up, finally overcoming Baldur Gamma in the Heat Final. The up and coming champ Sheer Heart Attack proved too much in Round 4, however.

                                From Shrewsbury in Shropshire, Rupture!
It keeps going, and going, and going, and, er...going.

Melissa: Mr. Jackson, your machine can lift, it can push, and...what else does it do?
Andy: Continue to exist. Its meant to last entire battles.
                                Melissa: And your game plan?
Andy: Team with Warhead and try and lift over Cyclone Force. Its rubbish when inverted.
Melissa: Its teammate can right it, you realize.
Andy: Ill just attack Pure Evil after that, then!
                                Melissa: Ha ha, good luck!

Going, and going, and...oops! Sorry! Ah, it has MagMotor power, so it can provide some decent power to the unknown amount of wheels. Its got a 4mm thick Hardox monocoque, so it should outlast some spinners, but it cant really damage opponents, and its quite compact, meaning it can get thrown around easily. Ruptures hopes might get ruptured themselves.

                                C&B1: Did not compete.
                                C&B2: Did not compete.

                                From Bournemouth in Dorset, Warhead!
The Razer teams other beast defiles the Battlegrounds!

                                Melissa: What. A. Machine.
                                Dan: Thats Warhead.
Ian: Indeed it is, and were hoping to smash up a fair amount of machinery out there.
Melissa: The 7th seeds are coming straight for you, how do you feel about that?
Ian: Warheads faced rammers before and beaten them, this shouldnt be too much trouble.
Melissa: Going to go all the way?
                                Ian: You bet.
Melissa: Right, get out there and show what you can do!
                                Dan: My pleasure!

A very powerful beast with a vicious spinning dome weapon that has torn out wheels, and goodness knows what else besides; what less would you expect from Razers brother? Self-righting wings on the sides help to stabilize as well, but the self-righting does tend to take a while, and it can go out of control. Will Warhead bomb out?

                                C&B1: Did not compete.
                                C&B2: Did not compete.

From Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics!
Its a flipper, of course! An evil flipper! Ooooo!

Melissa: Are you quite sure its...evil?
Daniel: I am quite sure. It can flip 2500kg! If that aint evil enough for you...
                                Melissa: Point taken.
Daniel: It also has tracks, Hardox armour, and LEM130s.
                                Melissa: You are scaring me.
Daniel: I think now I have made my point.
Melissa: Ill stand over here right now...

Evil? Or feeble? The specs say loads of flipping power, a tough Hardox exterior with more protection around the flipper, Lynch motor power, and some nice titanium/vanadium tracks. The specs also say that it has a 7mm ground clearance around the sides and rear. Could Pure Evil get sent back to the deepest pits of Hades?

                                C&B1: Did not compete.
                                C&B2: Did not compete.

                                Roboteers, stand by...

Teams...Daniel Stickler and Christopher Mason in Booth 1...and Andrew Jackson, and Dan Boulton with Team Razer in Booth 2. For house robots, we have 112kg of Dead Metal, sawblade, pincers and all, and alongside him is 185kg of Triple Whamlet.

                                3...
                                2...
                                1...
                                ACTIVATE!

And from the get-go, the 7th seed is the first to make a break for it - it being Warhead! The realie tries to avoid the charge, but the rammer is just too fast and barrels into the bowl, stopping it cold with the scoop! Rupture is after Cyclone Force 3, but Pure Evil: Back 2 Basics says noooooooooo to that, and slips under it from the side! This results in a mighty flip being given to the lifter, sending it high into the air, and it comes straight down onto its own lifter! Has that buckled the weaponry at all? Lets see...Pure Evil has Rupture as its target, and Andy much prefers Cyclone Force to attack...but Daniel ensures that Andy isnt getting his way! Pure Evil slides under the lifter of Rupture easily, and just as easily lets him fly again! Rupture flies across the arean and lands in Triple Whamlets CPZ! Not good! Pure Evil turns back to find Warhead getting pushed across the arena by Cyclone Force 3; obviously Chris is quite having his way at the moment, and shunts Warhead along the wall into the pit release button, which engages instantly! Pure Evil suddenly feels very inactive and blasts off towards Triple Whamlets CPZ, eager for some action! The said Triple Whamlet is giving Rupture one good hell of a battering, the 4mm Hardox monocoque steadily getting dented, and dented, and dented worse! Pure Evil at that point in time barges into the CPZ and shoving aside Whamlet tosses Rupture, but only by the tip, so sending Rupture onto his back! Before it can self-right, however, it is attacked once more by the axes of Whamlet! And its partner isnt doing that well of a job either! Warhead gets slammed against the wall once more by Cyclone Force, the LEM-driven machine exerting its proven power into pummelling the Team Razer robot into oblivion!

Pure Evil however just cant stand being idle, and races over to attack Warhead itself, as Rupture simply cannot get out of his major predicament! The wedge slams into Warheads rear, and a mighty flip sees Warhead leave the floor and take to the air...for a few seconds, that is! Warhead crashes down noisily onto the arena floor, one of the arms seemingly bent on that landing, as it tries to regain its senses; however, Cyclone Force and Pure Evil wont let him! They slam into Warhead as one and take him into Dead Metals CPZ. The silver scorpion is forced straight back into the CPZ as the two powerful machines thrust Warhead into Dead Metals midst with utmost tenacity! Another flip from Pure Evil sends Warhead straight on top of Dead Metal, as the 7th seed crashes into one of Dead Metals own claws and pins the house robot there! Triple Whamlet has had enough of pummelling Rupture into metal fillings, and goes off to aid his comrade-in-arms, and slams into the rear of Cyclone Force, sliding under but not bringing down the axes yet, possibly because he is afraid he will hit Dead Metal! And that proves to be his undoing: Pure Evil turns to the 185kg housie and slides under him, takes him to the wall, and lets out another mighty flip; Whamlet just goes over the wall, and the audience are loving it! The Watcher certainly is not; he bumps into the rear of Pure Evil, reminding the Stickler creation that youre not supposed to attack house robots unless they attack you. Daniel shakes his fist at the ref in the control booth as Pure Evil is given a yellow card: the audience boos the ref; quite clearly that was undeserved, a slight warning surely should have sufficed!

But Rupture it seems just wont bow out; the lifter is indeed working as it slows props the battered machine up off the floor and onto its wheels; however this does not pass the eye of Daniel Stickler, and Pure Evil is right in its face. Rupture seems much too sluggish now to avoid the charge, and again the flipper beats the lifter (in terms of ground clearance at the least), and gliding into the corner sends Rupture skyward, and then ground bound as it crashes onto the arena camera tracks! Pure Evil twirls around, almost forgetting himself, as Cyclone Force is shoved in the rear by The Watcher, he cant pin both robots there. Cyclone Force backs off, but once again its the flipper of Pure Evil that shines again as it slams into both Dead Metal and Warhead and sends them over! Warhead tries futilely to self-right; its pinned right up against Dead Metal again, whos on his back as well, but Cyclone Force begins to push Dead Metal away, and Warhead finally is able to right itself...just in time to be scooped up onto the wedge of Pure Evil, and one forceful flip sends Warhead straight up over the fence to experience a fate akin to that of Rupture! And Dead Metal now is going to feel some humiliation as Cyclone Force nears the pit...and one shove is enough, as the silver scorpion plummets to its death. The Watcher again holds up the yellow card, desperate for order, but thats what happens!
