    Ive changed my mind. This is not being closed down. I swore I would complete it, whether by myself, or with help. So its getting done damnit. :P

    C&B4 however will be much, much smaller.

      Oh FFS, this is not working at all...

      Right. As you know, I am suffering from a rather moderate fanfic burnout. So, in a pathetic attempt to get this going again, Im going to pull a Dave Sheppard and hypo ROUND 1 of every remaining heat to cut the workload (and cut the intros, which I feel arent worth my time anymore :P)...yeah, guess I wont be able to wholly finish a 128-bot tournament :sad:. Thats hypoing...22 battles, so dont feel too ripped off.

        Well hey! Ive found some motivation! Here we go, then. Let€™s get it over with. :P

        Round 2, Battle 1
        The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Death Threat 0.2

        Roboteers, stand by€¦

        House robots€¦Triple Big Mac€¦and why not? Renegade, because he can, and he will. Destroy stuff, that is.

        ACTIVATE!

        And here starts Round 2! The May Tracks Has You€¦err€¦has Death Threat in its sights, and looks to shear some its fellow tracked machine€™s€¦tracks! But Death Threat isn€™t too keen on finding itself a track below the rest, and swiftly nips to May Tracks€™ side, only to find the front of the machine facing him! Frank wasn€™t fooled, and kept his machine facing its opponent, and now has a clear advantage! Before Death Threat can even register the disadvantage it€™s in, May Tracks has given the newcomer a rough shove to the front! Unfortunately, he€™s forgotten about the claws, which quickly latch hold around the front of the sides of May Tracks, and exert their massive pressure into the Hardox armour! May Tracks in response lets fly with its flipper, which doesn€™t seem that good for Danny seeing as its claws have been wrenched from the sides, its body tilted up, and with a CRASH, lands back down onto its tracks. Frank presses his advantage further, driving into Death Threat and underneath the claws before they can clamp in again, and slams it into the wall with horrific power! Suddenly Frank, guns the motors in reverse, sending May Tracks backwards a bit, and as he does so, there is a slight jerk as Death Threat somehow moves sideways, the rubber on the tracks of Death Threat screeching eerily€¦quickly May Tracks fires the flipper, and there is a CLANK Death Threat lurches over onto its back, and the damage is clear to see. Death Threat€™s right side track is completely ripped off, and the track itself lays in front of it, severed and looking forlorn on the arena floor. Frank punches the air in triumph, his first tread attacking attempt succeeding in a great way as The Watcher comes forward to count-out the obviously circling Death Threat.
        1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

        However, Frank is far from done, and he espies the house robots from afar. Given past experience, the house robots know Frank loves to attack them, and immediately both come out to attack him rather than Death Threat. But Frank is prepared, m€™boys! Renegade charges into May Tracks first, but the claws can€™t get under May Tracks, while the wedge of May Tracks gets under the claws, and May Tracks pushes Renegade, wheels stranded in the air, across the arena like he did with Death Threat with Triple Big Mac with whirling pursuit, the whole mass easily outmuscled, and slammed against the arena wall, furthering Renegade€™s ascent up the wedge€¦but Franky€™s too late this time, as Triple Big Mac is simply too close for comfort€¦

        CRASH!!!

        The rear Hardox panel, thanks to May Tracks being pegged by Renegade€™s added weight, gets smashed right in€¦causing our Geddinton bot to smoke. Heavily. Smoke pours from May Tracks, which tells us that Triple Big Mac, now in a Son of Whyachi-style crazy jig, has hit something important. Frank might have to repair that for later, but he€™s won this fight.

        CEASE!

        Death Threat 0.2 was all that it said on the tin! Back to Bedford for you!
        The May Tracks Has You (25) advances to the Heat E Final!

        And as a treat for AJ, he€™s not going to have to do the next fight, as I€™ve somehow found sudden inspiration to write the next fight as well. Could it be the end of my burnout?!

        Round 2, Battle 2
        Thor vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0

        Roboteers, stand by€¦

        Of course we have Exa-Gore-Ic Evo€¦and the big boy of the arena, Ancalagon the Black!

        ACTIVATE!

        And here starts the 2nd Round 2 battle and it€™s off to a flying start as both competitors come at each other with the tenacity of wolves! Thor€™s got its hammer working and immediately it slams it down on Nitro-Gene 5.0€™s armoured flipper, but even that has hardly made a dent and now the rest of Thor will meet the flipper€¦and it does! In a huge way! It€™s slid right under that tough front of Thor, and sent it across the arena, right into the wall opposite! What€™s more, it€™s on its back! As Thor self-rights, Nitro-Gene smacks into it again, this time from the side, obviously the plan Paul had in his notebook because Nitro-Gene€™s taking him for a ride into a CPZ! That€™s where Ancalagon the Black is, and oh dear!

        CRASH!!!

        Thor€™s other side armourment takes a hell of a bash from Ancalagon€™s right disc€¦and is sent over again! Good aggression and control from Nitro-Gene so far, but he€™ll need to keep it up. €¦and there he is again, pushing Thor across the - no wait, Thor rights himself€¦right on top of Nitro-Gene! Paul quickly fires the flipper, sending Thor backwards off Nitro-Gene and again onto its back, but this time it is able to self-right before the aggressor can get back to him. Now on the defensive, Thor backs off, and goes for the pit release button, slamming into it with enough force to shatter a brick wall, possibly. Well it almost shattered the release button, which looks rather bruised after that collision, and the pit descends. However, it can€™t turn around fast enough to avoid another charge from Nitro-Gene, but luckily it was facing Paul€™s machine this time and gets under it! The hammer falls! And that€™s a nice dent in the armour beside the flipper, very nice indeed, but Thor€™s now pushing its adversary across the arena€¦towards the pit! WHACK, another thwack for good measure, and another dent! Has Thor€™s plan worked? The answer is€¦no, because Nitro-Gene fires the flipper, sending it sideways onto Thor, and its wheels just graze the front of Thor and send it away, and Thor nearly drives in himself! Back away€¦that€™s better, Thor. Nitro-Gene comes in for another charge€¦and again drives onto Thor, but this time backs off before Thor€™s hammer comes down€¦which it does, much too late. Nitro-Gene drives into it quickly, and Thor can€™t seem to pull the hammer back! Sensing a weakness, Nitro-Gene slides underneath the hammer, and collides with Thor€™s blade protecting the front ground clearance€¦and gets underneath it! Just as he does this, Thor finally gets the hammer back, but he€™s too near the pit€¦and guess what? Paul wanted an OOTA, but he€™ll have to settle for a pitting, because that€™s he gets. Nitro-Gene shoves one final time, and Thor slides into the abyss, firing the hammer in futility. Nitro-Gene spins around, as he€™s just earned himself a rematch with the 25th seed.

        CEASE!

        Thor devolves from a god to a lesser life form! Perhaps it€™s time to pack your bags to the Underworld, Shane? :wink:
        Nitro-Gene 5.0 advances to the Heat E Final!

          HEAT E - SO FAR...

          Round 1
          Nitro-Gene 5.0 & Death Threat 0.2 won their battle when Walk Dont Run took off one of Another Night at the Bars wheels, but then self-destructed!
          The May Tracks Has You & Thor won their battle when The May Tracks Has You eventually got all the competitors out of the arena, Exertion and Y4 going first!

          Round 2
          The May Tracks Has You ripped open Death Threat 0.2s track in one single attack, but failed to take out the house robots.
          Nitro-Gene 5.0 held out against Team Buds robot Thor, and after a struggle got it down the pit.


          Round 3
          The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0

          Right. Again apologies about the Round 1 hypo. :sad: I still feel it was necessary, even after these fights, because, really...its too much. I really shouldnt burden myself with so many things at once. Now Ive learned my lesson...

          Anyway, tactics and predictions please.

            WOOOOOT! The Heat Final is here - and Im in it!
            No problem with you doing the Round 1 hypo, if you feel it lessens your work load. Round 2s are often easier to write, because there are less robots in the battle, you know what each robot can do well enough now and you can try and make the fights last long.

            Anyway, the Heat Final:

            The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0
            Ive been beaten 2 times now by that darn May Tracks - knows the time for some vengence The thing about the May Tracks is it seems to be able to get under almost everything it fights - which means a front attack is out of the question; if hes attacking he head-on, reverse and get out the way.

            My plan is to attack him from the sides and get under those 3mm Titanium skirts. Then FLIP HIM! This will be a easier way to get him towards the edge of the arena. Also, it means that if he does get flip into the edge of the arena, I can try and get him with his back facing the wall. This will mean 3 things can happen:
            1. He self-rights out the arena.
            2. He cant self-right because the walls behind him
            3. He stacks himself against the wall.

            If 1 & 2 happens, great If 3 happens, drive up behind him, and just throw him out the ring.

            Thats Plan A. Plan B is to open the pit at the start (which I wll do anyway) and just try and get underneath and push him in.

              I cant honestly say I didnt see this coming - the waty it was all headed something was going to break, be it your motivation or something else, and for the sake of the tourney being finished and your w00ty fights coming ssone Ive no problem with a little hypoing to speed things along. Just dont get yourself in too deep again

              PRedictions...no idea. Will probably come down to who OOTAs who first.

                  Shame you had to hypo most of round 1 Kody :sad:

                  Problem with Nitrogenes flipper, its just too powerful for the sort of fine control it looks like hes going for. Ill be going for side attacks myself, only going head on if theres no alternative. Aim is to shred the tyres as per then try and get him pitted or OOTA.

                  Then attack the house robots:wink:

                    House bots€¦Asterix Anarchius, and€¦Damocles. Shove something into those drums and it don€™t live no more.

                    ACTIVATE!

                    So, it€™s a vengeance match from long ago€¦depending on how €˜long ago€™ was, but that€™s a moot point right now. Both machines off to quite a fast start, Nitro-Gene 5.0 going for the pit release button off the get-go, with The May Tracks Has You in hot pursuit. Paul gets to the button first, but he€™s unable to turn as he hits it, and the 25th seed slams into him from behind, penetrating the rear skirt easily and sliding under Paul€™s machine with ease. Frank doesn€™t go for the OOTA, but instead backs off and flips, as Nitro-Gene sprawls onto his back from the flip, but there€™s no damage to the tyres, at least not from what we can see, and Paul manages to get away, breathing a sigh of relief as he realizes that May Tracks€™ attack failed. However he€™s far from safe, as he€™s in an inverted position and May Tracks is coming after him again. Paul decides to run away first. He manages to get far enough from May Tracks to perform a flip, however he just manages a 450, crashing onto his snout, thankfully right side up though, and very fortunately for Paul Nitro-Gene is facing May Tracks.

                    May Tracks tries to turn to attack Nitro-Gene€™s sides, but it€™s vice versa as Nitro-Gene turns right into May Tracks€™ own, and tosses him straight into the air! Paul jumps, though, as the force nearly tips Nitro-Gene itself over, but it€™s May Tracks who€™s been sent flying the arena and now lays inverted in the centre of the arena. It self-rights, but Nitro-Gene is back at its sides in no time at all and tosses. This time, it does flip itself as well, and Paul groans, but quickly redresses the act by pushing the re-inverted May Tracks into Damocles€™ CPZ. As it does so, it self-rights€¦or tries to, but merely ends up doing a 360, as Damocles€™ foremost drum eats into May Tracks€™ side.

                    CRASH!!!

                    And tears it completely off! May Tracks is hardly sent flying at all, merely tipped a bit, as Damocles attacks again, now with that drum stalled. Both Frank and Paul self-right again, and this time Paul gets his desired effect: Nitro-Gene does a perfect 540 and lands squarely on all four wheels. May Tracks isn€™t so lucky. It does land right side up, but unfortunate enough to put itself right in front of Damocles€™ right side drum!

                    CRASH!!!

                    This time the flipper takes the blow and is wrenched open, May Tracks tumbling into its rear but back down onto its wheels, as Frank grits his teeth. Obviously he won€™t get his wish of attacking the house robots later on, if he does defeat Nitro-Gene. Which is starting to become doubtful now, as Nitro-Gene smacks in from the other side and plows May Tracks into the wall from the side. And€¦how ironic. May Tracks doesn€™t go over at all. In fact, the flipper barely nicked him, and has sent Nitro-Gene over again. Paul€™s machine has very limited flips, and €˜twil be interesting to see if Nitro-Gene has enough - yes, he does. Nitro-Gene self-rights, but definitely not as graceful as before. An rough 210 back onto its wheels, as May Tracks slowly advances on it. Confident still, Paul charges it from the front. And he gets his wish; Damocles has undoubtedly damaged the wedge extender, and Nitro-Gene gets under and tosses May Tracks over, nothing fancy. May Tracks€¦self-rights. Quickly. So the flipper still remains okay, but the 0mm clearance at the front as pretty much taken away now.

                    Paul, realizing this just now, charges straight into May Tracks, who can€™t seem to turn fast enough to avoid it, and the 25th seed goes for another tumble, but that last flip really was weak, and we€™ve got to wonder if Nitro-Gene€™s flippability factor has run dry€¦certainly May Tracks€™ hasn€™t. But May Tracks€™ flipper seems to be useless now without that 0mm clearance, so Nitro-Gene may not be worse off here. Paul charges Frank again; Frank valiantly tries to get in there with the flipper, but Nitro-Gene€™s now clear leverage advantage helps him get under the flipper€¦but ironically, he can€™t seem to flip the tracked machine over. So Paul goes over to try and pit May Tracks, but May Tracks drives off, albeit slowly. Nitro-Gene turns and rams May Tracks again, this time getting under the rear. Oh, I think that€™s done it! Due to the smallish width of the flipping arm, the tracks of the 25th seed can€™t find a thing to grab onto, the only front wedge is the flipper, and it€™s right between the tracks! So€¦we€™re now treated to another shoving by Nitro-Gene, and though Frank grinds the controls as much as he can, there€™s no chance of escape€¦and The Nitro-Gene Has May Tracks€¦in the pit. BOOM!

                    CEASE!

                    The May Tracks has rock bottom! The 25th seed€™s hopes are disconnected!
                    Nitro-Gene 5.0 advances to the Series Semi-Finals!!!

                        Revenge and victory is sweet - great battle Frank, and great battle Kody. Beating Another Night At The Bar, Walk Dont Run 3, Thor and The May Tracks Has You in the same heat is a massive acheivement, but having them written well is an extra acheivement.

                        I look forward to the semi-finals and the rest of the heats, minus the most annoying round to write.

                        I think its between Tengu and Disco for who wins, as I predict theyll win the Round 2 battles. I think itll be Tengu, because its awesome and itll tear Disco apart.

                            Wait, Venus Fly Trap actually survived a fight?

                            It really must be Christmas!

                            As for the fight, ram Tengu straight away and try to corner it. Hook the wheels with the barbs, trap it up if Im far enough underneath and head straight for the Pit.

                                Tengu VII (11) vs. Venus Fly Trap

                                House robots...Triple Whamlet and Triple Big Mac, zeh triples.

                                ACTIVATE!

                                The ominous spinning shell of Tengu starts its trek towards its maximum spinning speed, which is not too long considering its already there! Venus Fly Trap decides to play the brave fool and charges straight into it. However, the result is very unexpected. Tengu flies onto the wedge, and though successfully knocking off one of the barbs, is stopped! The shell is shocked into stationary mode, and the trap is set! It shuts with horrifying speed, and Tengu is trapped! This is a startling turn of events, and Steven already looks like he has this game in the bag! However, he fears loosening his foe, and instead of going for the Pit as planned, he calculated another fine move; a slam into Triple Whamlets CPZ! The big house robot lets its tri-axes fly on Tengus underbelly. The 4mm titanium is not taking the blows well at all, and already great dents appear on the previously smooth belly! Oh dear! And there goes a wheel! Wait...its been struck, but is there any damage? We might know now, but the axes continue to pound Tengus underbelly, just missing the upper part of Venus Fly Traps lifter. Venus Fly Trap however is not satisfied, and now moves away from the CPZ, to go for the pit at last. It smacks into the release button as quick as it can, but as Steve feared, the heavy collision knocks Tengu out of Venus Fly Traps grip, and away. Its on its back though...and can it not right itself?! Oh dear! Tengus been robbed! It cant self-right! Has Triple Whamlets merciless hacking messed up the srimech? Well have to wait and see, though, as The Watcher comes over to bring an end to this one-sided upset!
