      Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs. Ge5orce

SHA gave me a lot of trouble last tourney, so Im going to stay on the initial defensive. Hes a lot thinner than last year, though, so Im positive my claws can fit around him. Do so and squish his tracks together.

Never mind, I have the power of predicting SHA might win this.

                    *in the pits*

Melissa: So, Mr. Benschop, you are up against a very powerful flipper. What have you got in store for them?
Martijn: Ge5orce, eh€¦gonna go for the sides and rear, knock him over a fair few times.
                    Melissa: Confident?
Martijn: Fairly, but you never know. Anything can happen in there and hopefully we€™ll come out on top.
Melissa: All right, then, good luck.
                    Martijn: Thanks.
Melissa: Right€¦let€™s go over to the Ge5orce team€¦ah, Andrew, how you feel facing the reigning champion?
Andy: Well I€™m pretty confident about my powerful flipper, but of course Marti ain€™t number one for nothing. Don€™t think the drum looks high enough to knock my wedge away so I€™ll be box-rushing it mostly. Anywhere€™s good.
Melissa: It is a really powerful weapon, though.
Andy: Well we have some strong armour and hardened steel nuts and bolts and pieces holding it together so it should hold up.
                    Melissa: Fight hard out there.
                    Andy: You got it.

                    ----

JP: Right, I€™m in the box here with the host€¦this battle looks very complicated, what do you think?
Kody: Well, Sheer Heart Attack 2 of course is the champ but that doesn€™t mean much other than the fact that he€™s experienced. Ge5orce on the other hand looks highly impressive, but I really don€™t think he can get the champion out of the arena or down the pit, the drum will hassle him too much.
JP: I think the impact damage from Ge5orce€™s flips will be telling factor though, so I will predict Ge5orce to win.
Kody: I€™ll respect the champ and say that he€™ll pull off a nice KO on Ge5orce through shock damage without receiving many flips.
JP: All right, then, let€™s go down to the arena, and find out!

                    ----

                    Round 3
                    Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs. Ge5orce

                    Sheer Heart Attack 2!

Unbeaten in 9 previous contests, but will it progress further? I think so!

                    Ge5orce!

Newcomer to Crash & Burn, masterful weaponry, but how will it fare here?

                    Roboteers, stand by€¦

In the arena, for the house robots, we have Sergeant Bash with the pincer and flamethrower€¦and Cassius Chrome, our regional boxer, bit putrid, wouldn€™t you say?

                    3€¦
                    2€¦
                    1€¦
                    ACTIVATE!

And the heat final beckons! And what a quick dash Ge5orce has made across the arena already, zooming past the middle and right into Sheer Heart Attack€™s drum, which hasn€™t nearly gotten up to speed and now Andy makes the gigantic flip! The champ€™s world is thrown into spin cycle as it hurtles through the air, coming right down onto its back! The rear wedges flop down but the drum won€™t be able to throw its opponent back as easily as before, if at all! Andy smiles; that was his exact tactic; certainly surprised me, completely unexpected! And now Ge5orce rams in again with that flipper; Sheer Heart Attack turns and runs away, trying to spin up the drum but the €˜5orce catches him from the rear, slides under those rear wedges and starts pushing him across the arena! It seems that Andy isn€™t going to risk putting Sheer Heart Attack right side up again for risk of getting tossed away by that drum, and dumps the champ into Cassius Chrome€™s CPZ!

Cassius Chrome, rather €˜underpowered€™ in the weaponry case, tries to pin Sheer Heart Attack against the wall, but the drum catches the left side fist and buckles it! Wot, no CRASH? Ge5orce meanwhile has smacked into the pit release button, and now goes back for the champ. Cassius Chrome turns Sheer Heart Attack back into the corner and slams him against the other wall, again pinning him, but Ge5orce€¦to the rescue? Ho ho! Cassius Chrome has been tossed against the arena wall by that mighty flipper! And here comes Sgt. Bash, he ain€™t liking that one bit! Ge5orce, not forgetting its opponent, backs into Sheer Heart Attack to prevent it from moving, but the clever Sergeant comes in from the other side, its claw sinking into that flipper! Of course, you€™d be well put to even slightly damage Hardox, Sgt. €œI€™ve-Been-Mentioned-On-Mock-The-Week€ Bash! The Watcher comes near, but Ge5orce has broken free of Sgt. Bash, got to its side, and taking to the wall gives it an almighty toss, sending the Sergeant over the fence! Pity!

Sheer Heart Attack is moving away now, but Ge5orce is not done yet with the house robots! As The Watcher sidles in to right Cassius Chrome, the bold wedge moves in and tackles The Watcher€™s side! Sheer Heart Attack, after witnessing this attack, decides to lay aside the match and help its opponent as well€¦to find out Ge5orce doesn€™t need any help launching the referee€¦OUT OF THE ARENA! With a rather loud SMASH, The Watcher€™s head smacks into the polycarbonate covering and lies pathetically on the arena camera tracks! Talk about anarchy! The red card has been given€¦but who cares? This is a robot combat fight, not a game of footie! And that€™s only for the house robots, get that out of there! Now!

Back to the Heat Final, Sheer Heart Attack makes another charge at Ge5orce, who decides not to risk the drum this time and tries to outmanoeuvre the champ. Suffice to say, Andy is successful at this and the flipper nudges against the titanium tracks€¦right underneath the side! It starts pushing, but Sheer Heart Attack can€™t really be pushed from the side due to its huge traction advantage. Martijn tries to turn and attack, but Andy has seen what he needs to do and turns away from the sides to attack the rear. Sheer Heart Attack, to Andy€™s surprise, spins the other way, and Ge5orce greets the other side€¦only to get under it this time! Martijn however drives straight off as Andy tries to send the towards the pit, and turns around again.

Ge5orce is right after it, fully intent on delivering the champ to the pit by the looks of it, and slams into the drum head-on now. There€™s a BANG as sparks erupt, but Martijn sees his beloved champ bounce straight up onto Ge5orce, and Andy€™s slight anxiety turns to sheer delight as Sheer Heart Attack has driven straight up onto the wheel housings of Ge5orce, and it appears unable to move further onto the housings; Ge5orce turns, as Sheer Heart Attack backs away, off the housings, but Andy zooms off towards the pit with all his might, the champ struggles, the pit nears, and finally claims Sheer Heart Attack in a overwhelming burst of smoke. Ge5orce backs off and spins around wildly, having just ended the champion€™s quest towards a 2nd crowning!

                    CEASE!

Sheer Heart Attack 2 encounters a sheer coronary for all its sheer effort towards that sheer title defense!
Ge5orce advances to the Series Semi-Finals!!!

Hmmm... a tough heat... my tactics is to go for anyone who has an exploitable ground clearance, flip and whack, or, failing that, whoever has the softest armour.

Tactics - Concentrate my attacks on Knyfe. D:GX was designed to halt the spread of ramming vapours, and it€™s going to do exactly as I planned. Basically just spin the egg-beater weaponry to its top speed as quickly as possible and hit Knyfe every time it comes on the attack. It€™s ramming capabilities won€™t even come into play in this fight, as every time it comes near the body it will be sent flying!

If Knyfe tries to attack the wheels, just use the 0m turning circle to turn the spinning body into it. By the end of the fight, Knyfe should end up being a little blunt.

                            Team-up Steve-o?

Why do I get the feeling Im going to do really badly this year?

                              HEAT B
                              ROUND 1
Black Panther VS Dervish: Generation X VS Knyfe VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (19)

I really dont know what to do. If Black Panther comes after me, aim for the rear, flip it over and try to throw the bugger out the ring ASAP. If Dervish comes after me, box-rush it to stop the blades (or box-rush someone else into it to stop the blades) and pit or flip out the ring. If Knyfe comes after me, aim for the skirts, flip it about and maybe aim for a pitting. I guess it depends what weapon Paul fits.

The main tactic, however, is to SURVIVE.

Phenominal start to the tournament BTW, Kody. I do believe youve put us all to shame.
