Okay. MANY thanks to Kody, Martyn and Martijn for helping me figure this out.
The following announcement is NOT true. Apparantly, C&B3 IS still going on.
Then who was that Kody, you say? Why, none other than our very own Self proclaimed Retired vapourboteer who continues to write tourtaments despite retiring: ANTHONY POLITZI!
See, Tony knew doing [bleep] like this would make most leave FRA: Like he had threanted to take others down with him in NSIREC. He succeded doing so with Male Kram, which is a bad loss, but we arent going to let that ruin our fun now, will we?
Tony is slowly liking ZED more and more, and hating FRA more and more...so by spreading the rumor the C&B3 would be cancelled, most wouldnt see a reason to stay at FRA, and Tony would convince them to go to ZED if they wanted to use vapours again. Now, dont tell me this all dosent add up and makes the only suspect.
So, Tony got a new email, copied Kodys font, and tried to act like him...and he did A VERY good job, except for some things [the lack of random disconnections, no router problems, the fact Kody more than likley would have known his dad would be getting a job at Arabia BEFORE C&B3 started, when signups opened just€¦ whenever] And so therefore we have the only person with a reason to do this: Tony himself.
Toe-Knee, if you are going to leave, stop causing trouble and do it now, youve done more harm than help. But if you are going to STAY, then drop your weapons and stop causing problems.

I am only predicting the heat winner in heats I am not in. Don€™t want to give others false confidence, do I? =P

          HEAT A
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs. Ge5orce vs. Megabyte vs. Hell€™s Teeth
Turbulence (17) vs. Axes of Evil vs. Slammer VI vs. Naughty Girl

Heat Winner - Sheer Heart Attack 2, beating Ge5orce in the heat final on a Judge€™s Decision.

          HEAT E
Another Night at the Bar (9) vs. Death Threat 0.2 vs. Walk Don€™t Run 3€™n a Half vs. Nitro-Gene 5.0
The May Tracks Has You (25) vs. Thor vs. Exertion vs. Y4

Heat Winner - I have a soft spot for ANATB, but I don€™t think it has had the best draw. Y4 to win!

          HEAT F
Tengu VII (11) vs. Eurypterus Evolved vs. ISDSFA vs. Flick of the Wrist
Disco 5 (27) vs. Monolith vs. Ramminator vs. Venus Fly Trap

Heat Winner - Either of the seeds, Flicky or Monolith could win here. I€™ll go for Monolith.

          HEAT G
Cosmic Thunder 2 (13) vs. X-Terminator 3 vs. Crash Trashing Robot vs. Axetra
Back to Rock (29) vs. Cobalt vs. Tsunami vs. Spin Dash Unleashed

Heat Winner - I€™m gonna say X Terminator and Tsunami to repeat their RW7 heat final, but Tsunami to snatch victory.

          HEAT I
Malaria (16) vs. Atomic vs. Storm II vs. ArchAngel of the Abyss
Whirligig 4.5 (32) vs. Wedga€™s Revenge vs. Iron Awe 5 vs. Sakura

Heat Winner - 3 ring spinners in the shape of AotA, Whirly and Sakura. Any of these 3 could win, but I will edge my bets on Sakura.

          HEAT L
BIACS-LE (10) vs. Nightmare vs. Lethal Execution vs. Tornado
Cacodemon (26) vs. Heyght vs. Door Stops vs. Under Pressure

Heat Winner - Any of the 8, in my opinion. Probably the weakest heat in terms of the machines entered.

          HEAT N
Killotine: EVO (6) vs. PsycloniZer vs. Axe to Fall vs. Onslaught
Leprosy Infection (22) vs. Forklift 2 vs. Riptile vs. Air

          Heat Winner - PsycloniZer. Easily.

          HEAT O
Son of Ripper X (4) vs. Masamune vs. Leviathan vs. Mad Dash
Axe-O-Lotl (20) vs. (Matty bot 7) vs. Typhoon 2 vs. The Rock

          Heat Winner - Pure Evil: Reve€¦ I mean, SoR X :P

Tactics will be done in another post!

sorry to hijack your thread......BEN READ....you post numerous post on the forum i.e. 8cm wheels. there are people that are more than willing to help you. why do you ignore their posts after laying the bait. if you are going to build a real robot ben then i suggest you make a start instead of posting what seems to me like meaningless posts inviting everyone to help and when they do you go quiet.

                just be careful ben read

+1>Welcome to The Crash & Burn Tournament 3!

It started in March 2006, and during the first ever Crash & Burn Tournament, Salamander III bashed its way through its heat, finally smashing Clawdius Decimus Murderous aside for the judges decision and ultimate win! However, the next series sent it against oldbie Axeon in the Semis, where it ended up axed into submission. Newcomer Sheer Heart Attack then plowed its way past that stage, into the Grand Finals, and ultimately pushing past Tempest Evil-er-oution to claim the title of champion!

However, it is Stage 3, and now a whole new war begins€¦

*Kody appears at the balcony above the arena*

Kody: So, it€™s here, back for another bout. The champion Sheer Heart Attack 2 returns, but if Martijn Benschop wants to defend his beloved title, he€™s going to have to keep it away from the greedy eyes of 7 other roboteers and their machines! It€™s Heat A time! Let the wars begin!

                            Heat A
                            Round 1, Eliminator 1
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) vs. Ge5orce vs. Megabyte vs. Hell€™s Teeth

From Enschede, Holland, seeded number 1 and reigning champion, Sheer Heart Attack 2!
Back for another war, back to drum another day, will this tracked spinner go again all the way?

Melissa: So, what have you got in store for us this time around?
Martijn: A bigger drum, that€™s damn what. It goes at 3500rpm and it€™s got some nice teeth that I€™m sure will damage the other robots quite nicely.
Melissa: Right. Your opponents: Ge5orce€¦Megabyte€¦and Hell€™s Teeth.
Martijn: Dodgy, really. Think I€™ll give it the ol€™ college try against Megabyte.
Melissa: Think you can go all the way like you did last series?
                            Martijn: Deffo.

The defending champion has that extremely powerful titanium drum, a nice upgrade on the previous version. It has the fastest drivetrain in this fight, good armour, and plenty powerful, but those tracks are vulnerable, and it won€™t be as manoeuvrable as the wheeled machines.

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
C&B2: Defeated Quocunque Jeceris Stabit, The Deer, and Aneurysm (4) in its heat, Cyclone Force 2.5 and Flank Attack: DT in the Semi-finals, SUNCUST in the Grand Final eliminator, and finally Tempest Evil-er-oution (14) to win the championship!

                            From Shrewsbury in Shropshire, Ge5orce!
First Crash & Burn appearance, the flipper certainly looks like it has force!

Melissa: So this is Ge5orce, looks lovely.
                            Andy: Yep.
                            Melissa: Nice flipper.
Andy: 1600kg of force packed in it, should launch bots over the fence in no time.
Melissa: I must say, I like the edginess, really.
Andy: Yes, well, 4.0 couldn€™t get its flipper into play so we brought the weapon out more.
                            Melissa: And your tactics are?
                            Andy: Straight in, straight out.

The flipper can fire about 20 times a fight so there€™s limited CO2 but still plenty of it. 2 wheel drive, Mag powered, so it has some push. The ground clearance at the rear is questionable but there€™s no doubt about the tough Hardox armour, so watch out for €˜the force€™ in this one!

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
                            C&B2: Did not compete.

                            From Escondidoin, USA, Megabyte!
Look out for this American spinner; its shattered walls!

                            Melissa: Hello, team.
                            Ben: Hi.
                            John: Howdy.
                            Melissa: So Megabyte€™s back?
John: Oh yeah, weve improved since last wars.
Melissa: But you didn€™t do too well last time, and now you€™re in the same fight as the reigning champion! How does that make you feel?
John: We were the champs once in the US, and we fell. This champ here, he€™s going down.
                            Melissa: Good luck, then.
                            Ben: Thanks€¦

The weapon and drive are electrically powered and the outer shell is quite tough, however they have had issues self-righting in the past. The 8th ranked heavyweight in America, Megabyte could get the chomp, or they could bloody well rip straight through the competition!

C&B1: Ripped apart Biohazard in Round 1, but then was flipped over by Tails and couldn€™t self-right.
C&B2: Shoved down the pit by Hacked Off Ha-ka and Turbulence (17) in Round 1.

From Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire, Hell€™s Teeth!
Newcomer€¦but does it have the bite to match its bark?

Melissa: Right, what do you think?
Shane: Well, I don€™t really think that flipper is a bother, but that champion worries me slightly though.
                            Melissa: Going for them, then?
Shane: Pretty much, yes. We have a smaller weapon though so it will be tough.
Melissa: And do you think you€™ll come out of this alive?
                            Shane: Oh definitely, definitely.
                            Melissa: All right.

Powered by 3 Bosch 750 electric motors, and has a vertical spinning flywheel at the rear; it€™s got good armour and it can runs both ways up, but the wheels are exposed, and a 7.5cm ground clearance could having it whimpering in the devil€™s denture glass before long.

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
                            C&B2: Did not compete.

                            Roboteers, stand by€¦
Let€™s have a look at the teams. Martijn Benschop on the left side, Ben Read and John of the Robotic Death Company on the right, that€™s Booth 1; in Booth 2 is Andrew Jackson on the left, and Shane Swan of Team Bud on the right. For the house robots, we have revisions! Asterix Anarchius, more power but less speed, new front wedge design and sides, and alongside him is new house robot Renegade, with the pincer pair and axe blade. Don€™t forget our refbot, The Watcher, patrols the arena and will break up fights if needed.

                            3€¦
                            2€¦
                            1€¦
                            ACTIVATE!

                            And here we go again!
It€™s the champion Sheer Heart Attack 2 who makes the first move, heading straight for Hell€™s Teeth, who spins around quickly and shows them their teeth - the teeth on that flywheel, that is! But if anything, that just makes Martijn more determined to rip it off and Sheer Heart Attack€™s pace quickens! Before it can do anything more, however, it is interrupted by the quickly spinning shell of Megabyte, who swerves in and greets the side of the champion with a devastating blow!

                            CRASH!!!

And we get our first CRASH of the tournament! Sheer Heart Attack is spun away, the 10mm titanium side okay but slightly bent. It has, however, sent Megabyte across the arena itself, and now it is very vulnerable to a flipping! And that€™s exactly what Andy is going to do! Ge5orce bursts in as Megabyte goes all top-like, spinning on its head, and pushes it into the arena wall. Obviously, since the robot is spinning and not the shell, it€™s hardly moved away from the wall, so this makes things a little difficult for Ge5orce. He then decides to push Megabyte into an empty CPZ and then goes for the gusto! FLIP! No! He only righted Megabyte! And right about to be rightly slammed and rightly mashed against the corner by Asterix Anarchius, our house robot! WHAM! Megabyte is slammed with great power, very great, against that said corner, and ricocheting off towards the center of the arena! Ge5orce follows and before Megabyte can even try to get its feared shell spinning again, it€™s flipped over!

Sheer Heart Attack and Hell€™s Teeth are going at it as well, like a pair of rabid mongeese during mating season! Sheer Heart Attack doesn€™t want to hit the drum and instead uses the rear wedges to smack into that rear of Hell€™s Teeth; owing to the ground clearance it quite easily slips under and pushes Hell€™s Teeth onto the arena saws! BZZT! Loads of sparks, so I€™m not sure if a tire was hit, but oh well€¦but Sheer Heart Attack keeps him there, and the wheels of Hell€™s Teeth have been taken completely off the ground! BZZT! More sparks! What damage is being caused to the bottom armour of Hell€™s Teeth I wonder? It might look like an very overused cutting board before long!

Ge5orce sees what is going on and doesn€™t bother to intervene; instead, it backs into the pit release button, and the first time this tournament, the demonic pit of doom opens, the grave of many robots so far in robotic combat history. And that€™s where it looks like Megabyte is going first! It€™s unable to self-right, can€™t seem to bounce up onto its wheels, and Ge5orce is now behind it! Pushing! Pushing! Pushing€¦gone. Megabyte is down the pit, and the first to be eliminated after a good first hit to a straight-down very disappointing performance later on. Ge5orce opens its flipper as Andy clenches his fist, smiling.

However, it ain€™t over yet, lad. Hell€™s Teeth may be down for the count, but it€™s not out. BZZT! And even more sparks as Sheer Heart Attack keeps him suspended over those damn saws, and now The Watcher thinks enough is enough. It shunts the champ away from Hell€™s Teeth, who lands directly onto the arena saws, but gets off before they come up€¦and Ge5orce attacks! No way is Hell€™s Teeth getting a nick in - Andy is just too fast! The wedge slams into Hell€™s Teeth€™s side and carries it to the arena wall€¦and tosses it out!

                            CEASE!

Megabyte€™s processor couldn€™t keep up with the others€™ and it finds itself in the pit! Hell€™s Teeth turns Hell€™s Angel as it flies the fence!
                            Sheer Heart Attack 2 (1) & Ge5orce advance to Round 2!
                            ----
                            Round 1, Eliminator 2
Turbulence (17) vs. Axes of Evil vs. Slammer VI vs. Naughty Girl

From Coleshill, Birmingham, and seeded number 17, Turbulence!
Made the heat final last time, only the pressure of Flank Attack: DT could grind it to a halt.

                            Melissa: Hello.
                            Dan: Hi.
                            Ed: Lo.
                            Melissa: Right, what€™s your plan?
Ed: Flip them all out, o€™ course.
                            Melissa: No specific opponent?
Ed: Not really, just flip them all out.
Melissa: All right, then, have fun.
                            Dan: Thanks!

The armour titanium and the chassis CNC aluminium; a powerful flipper for sure could send robots away packing, but that always means it has a limited supply. A quarter-finalist of the 2008 Roaming Robots Championship, and hoping to go all the way here.

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
C&B2: Got Megabyte down the pit in Round 1, then pulled off a judges decision against ForcePower 5.0 in Round 2€¦but then was pushed into the pit by Flank Attack: DT in its Heat Final.

                            From Bedford, Axes of Evil!
                            Ooh€¦it€™s evil€¦but just how evil?

Melissa: Right, this is Axes of Evil.
Danny: Indeed it is, and we€™re going to do some bloody good damage to the other robots.
Melissa: Right. You are facing Turbulence€¦Slammer€¦and a robot over there called €œNaughty Girl€.
Danny: Slammers shape doesn€™t look too hard to grab so I€™ll grab it, I suppose.
                            Melissa: Not worried?
Danny: Nah, not in the least bit.
                            Melissa: Right then.

2 wheel drive with 750w electric motors and a top speed of 15mph means this bot will be in your face, and the double-sided axe could spell trouble for the opposition. That said, it has polycarbonate armour, which though quite thick could prove its undoing.

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
                            C&B2: Did not compete.

From Geddinton in Northamponshire, Slammer VI!
Slam, bam, that€™s how it goes, m€™am. Entered in the first series but not the second€¦

Melissa: The Doomforall team, welcome. What are you looking to do out there?
Alex: Hello. Well, we€™ve got the claw on for this fight so we€™re looking to go after weak armour.
Melissa: Which opponent worries you the most?
Alex: Probably something that can grab hold of Slammer or damage the wheels.
Melissa: But you do realize Axes of Evil has€¦an axe.
Alex: I think I can damage him enough long before he can bring that into play, he does have polycarb armour.
Melissa: All right, good luck out there.
                            Alex: Thank you.

A great slab of 7mm Hardox is the main armour, and 5mm rear hub section protects the electronics, it€™s got multiple weaponry and it€™s mildly swift at 14mph. Though it€™s a Slammer, it won€™t be pushing much, and it can be grabbed. I see two axes in this upcoming fight€¦

C&B1: Outshined by its rival The Disc 5 again in Round 1.
                            C&B2: Did not compete.

                            From Kelvedon, Naughty Girl!
Doesn€™t really look anything like a naughty girl, really, but what does this newcomer have in store for us?

Melissa: Ooh, Naughty Girl, a name I can live with.
                            Martyn: Hahaha.
                            Melissa: What€™s your plan?
Martyn: Axe. Axe. And more axe. Slammer€™s cagey so I€™ll go for that.
Melissa: Not worried about the others?
Martyn: Oh no, not at all.
                            Melissa: Confident?
                            Martyn: Quite.
                            Melissa: Well, that€™s good.

A very potent axe on board, coupled with some nice durable tracks. Box-like shape with a scoop-ish front, Magmotor power and a 17mph speed means it€™s not too bad a shover, but its weakness: people not liking tracked robots! How discriminatory of them!

                            C&B1: Did not compete.
                            C&B2: Did not compete.

                            Roboteers, stand by€¦
Let€™s see the teams, there€™s Martyn Forsyth on the left, and Dan Boulton with Ed Wallace on the right in Booth 1, Booth 2 sees Danny Bailey on the left and Alex Holt and the Doomforall team on the right! Oh, but we€™re not alone! Taki III is out with us for the house robots, lifting wedge, rear blade and all! Joining her is Damocles, our resident 360 degree drum mercenary!

                            3€¦
                            2€¦
                            1€¦
                            ACTIVATE!

And it€™s the seed who strikes first, as Turbulence rockets out of its square immediately, and his first target is Axes of Evil, who is starting to move out of his own spot to attack Slammer VI. The wedge slams straight into Axes of Evil and Ed hits the flipper button as Dan watches, which sends the THz-alike high into the air and crashing back down! Slammer VI wants to join in on the fun, but the fun, or opposite, has come to him in the form of a very Naughty Girl, who gets in from the side and brings the axe down on Slammer€™s cage. Needless to say, it doesn€™t do much to the armour, but it does have the effect Martyn wanted, as it€™s found a slot in Slammer€™s armour to lodge in, and now Naughty Girl rams forward, pushing Slammer across the arena.

Turbulence is having a blast, really, as it€™s tossing Axes of Evil all around the arena without giving the polycarbonate robot a chance to attack. Danny is finding that trying to get away is difficult as Turbulence keeps ramming forward even time it flips, but finally gets away and heads in Slammer VI€™s direction. Turbulence ceases its attack and goes for€¦ah, I see. The pit release button. Good control there, and now it rejoins the fun, where Axes is sticking its weaponry into poor old Slammer, who really hasn€™t gotten a chance to bring its own weaponry into play and is being bashed all over now by Axes€¦not that its making much progress on the armour, but the internals must have been shaken about as if someone turned on the €˜blender€™ button inside!

But Turbulence isn€™t giving up that easily, and moments later the skirts have been breached again as Axes of Evil finds its world once again inverted, courtesy of the 17th seed€™s damn persistent flipper! Naughty Girl seems to have had enough of dishing out pain and is dragging Slammer VI over to the pit€¦until Turbulence crashes into the side of Slammer, pushing Slammer away and almost wrenching the axe shaft from Naughty Girl€™s pneumatics system in the process! But Turbulence isn€™t stopping there, it€™s tossed Slammer into an empty CPZ, and now tries to get it out! Axes of Evil rights itself, only to be shoved aside by Taki III as it makes its way over to that CPZ€¦but nothing can save Slammer now, it€™s propped up against the wall, and even as it drives off, Turbulence elevates it above the arena wall corner and onto the camera tracks!

Now rid of an opponent that sadly didn€™t do much during the fight, Turbulence turns its attention back to Axes of Evil€¦only to be greeted by a house robot! And Taki does indeed get under the front flipper of Turbulence and smacks the 17th seed into the corner further! Danny is pleased and thinks this would be a wonderful time to get revenge, as Axes of Evil goes around back of Taki, minding the blade, and attacks Turbulence, who rights itself off the wall, but back onto Taki€™s wedge, and WHACK! goes the axe of Axes of Evil, slightly denting the titanium atop, but nothing more with that first blow. Naughty Girl isn€™t about to left out either and moves to the rear of Axes of Evil, attacking its fellow axe member! WHACK! And that axe blow proves to be much more effective as it€™s pierced about 2cm of polycarbonate!

Taki moves back to her previously occupied CPZ to allow Turbulence some breathing room, and room does the 17th seed get indeed! It charges out, forgetting that its opponents are behind it, and turns around to attack. A good attack by Naughty Girl, but now Axes of Evil attacks from the rear with its double-sided axe! WHACK! Unfortunately, it€™s rather ineffective against the 3.5mm Hardox of Naughty Girl and that devilish purplish boxy-ish scoopy-ish axer drags Axes back, as Turbulence moves in again€¦only to drive up onto Axes€™ skirts this time. Naughty Girl continues to drag Axes of Evil backwards, Turbulence sliding off, and Axes giving the Girl another whack to the scoop, doing nothing serious but only making Martyn smirk and Naughty Girl turns to the open pit€¦

€¦only to get its prey rammed by Turbulence again! Not only that, but Turbulence gets under again, and tosses Axes over, sending Naughty Girl with it! Axes self-rights, and now Naughty Girl is stuck on top of Axes of Evil, but rights itself as well€¦and the axe comes loose. Axes of Evil moves to attack Turbulence, but Turbulence is already in his face and gets under the skirts once again, tossing him onto his head, but he self-rights, only for Turbulence to toss him over again, and shove him back into that CPZ! Axes of Evil is in major peril now, it€™s in danger of being flipped out, can it get out? It self-rights, but Turbulence is there€¦but can€™t get under the skirts here! Naughty Girl moves in for another wallop, indeed sending one Axes of Evil€™s way as the axe WHACKS into Axes€™ armour, sticking in again, and this time from the side!

Axes struggles and itself smacks Turbulence, who seems to be caught on the front of Axes€™ with the axe, denting the flipper slightly. Naughty Girl however is in control now and drags Axes towards the pit. Ed Wallace knows perfectly well what€™s going to happen now and decides to lay off as Turbulence heads for the center of the arena and remains still. Axes of Evil, however much it drags Martyn€™s bot around, can€™t shake it off, as it gets nearer and nearer the pit, and a genial shove more sends it plummeting down as Round 1 finally draws to a close.

                            CEASE!

Slammer VI gets a one-way ticket to the slammer itself, and Axes of Evil lacked the power of what Hell truly is!
Turbulence (17) & Naughty Girl advance to Round 2!
