He can use another robots system of movement, provided he fully understands it and has a reason for copying it as opposed to using his own...but from what Ive been asking Ben doesnt seem to understand how it works or how much it would weigh, and I repeat what I said earlier about keeping it simple.
(incidentally, I asked Alex over MSN how they system worked, and after many diagrams it seems to be borderline on shuffling)
Chris, I understand what you are saying, but it is like me saying It has the wheels of Storm II when I mean vulkalon coated wheels. It not like I snuck into Eds workshop and took its wheels off to copy them.
In case of vapourbots I dislike seeing things like same mechanism as archangel of the abyss.
Alex invested an amount of time in coming up with the srimech, no matter how simple it is, and after that he invested time in explaining how it works.
With your solution Ben, you basically say just see what Alex already did for me
To be fair, Alex didnt invent the mechanism...and its not as if stealing things from other vapours is all that bad (hello, Mr Paramagnetic LOX Box), its just when you do it without fully appreciating things and just duct tape the parts together then theres a problem. You cant exactly talk, Chris, considering how much originality is in your designs...
I dont think having interchangable angled wedges is really going to help - it falls in the category of a wedge is a wedge and stating the angle isnt really going to give you advantages or disadvantages when battles are written.
The other thing is that with fully vulkanised tracks, you will need some serious batteries to get you through a full match because your motors are going to be drawing more current to fight the friction when turning, and that might take it overweight with some setups, especially when you consider the current needed for hydraulic pumps.
Joey, I know my designs are hardly original by any definition of the word, but I do know which REAL robots they come from. I dont try and pinch any ideas from existing vapourbots without knowing which real robots they are based on first.
Long story short, I think it would have been better if Ben had found out which real robot has a mechanism closest to ArchAngel of the Abyss, and stated that. Theres a logical difference if you ask me.
