Mechanical Noise - Series 2
W00t, I€™m gonna continue this thing now.
Heat F
Round 1
Fight 1
Novastorm (11) vs Y4 vs Salamander III
Novastorm (11): Tony here made us a powerful diagonal bar spinner coupled with a nifty srimech. Like seen more often, the srimech doubles as a nice lifter, which has some nice synergy with aforementioned bar . The 20 mph provided by those 4 Mags might be a bit too much though.
In MN1: Has beaten the mighty Wild Thing (S4), but very much needed Wedge Devolution€™s help to do so. Then beat Dante in round 2, but when face-to-face with Wedge Devolution in the heat final Novastorm met his maker
.
Y4: A T-Minus lookalike, a rare breed but the weapon is very much proven. Chris is the one who brings us that powerful flipper, and even solved T-Minus€™ problem of having exposed wheels, even though Chris still had to semi-expose them .
In MN1: Did not compete.
Salamander III: Being my personal successor as the Crash & Burn Champion, Alex Holt€™s amphibious pet is an opponent to watch out for. The idea is simple; two big wheels driving 1 big horizontal flywheel around the arena. Axlebot-style.
In MN1: Did not compete.

VAPOURBOTS ARE GO! Novastorm is moving very quick, but not to face its opponents. Like fellow spinner Salamander it moves around a bit waiting for its powerful weapon to spin up. Chris sees (and knows, from reading the stats :wink
that both its opponents are not the quickest to spin up and the flipper now moves to Salamander. The black and yellow machine does its best to buy itself more time but Y4 is the faster of the two. Salamander turns around but that disc isnt strong enough yet!
CRASH!
Yeah, its a crash alright, but the damage is very hard to see for the naked eye. Y4 moves forward.
FLIP!
With that powerful arm under the disc, slowed down quite a bit due to the crash that just happened, Y4 manages to give Salamander an impressive amount of airtime! But what has Novastorm been up to?
CRASH!
Y4 left its rear open for Novastorm to come in! An impressive attack by Tony who literally sweeps Y4 aside and slams a nice hole in the titanium while doing so! While Y4 moves aside, and Novastorm recovers from the feedback, the bar spinner moves on to Salamander (who came down quite well after that flip of Y4), to which he has a pretty clear shot now Y4 is thrown away. Alex uses his 2WD mechanism to his advantage though and make sure the collision will be bar-to-disc rather than bar-to-exposed rear€¦
CRASH!
Its very clear that both spinners are very powerful, but Salamander came in a tad more effective and now its Novastorm who feels whats it like to be thrown away. Y4 comes moving in again, but that one attack of Novastorm was apparently enough for Y4€™s right wheel to be a bit more diagonal than Chris wishes it to be! Chris doesnt give up whoever and sees Novastorm before him. The 4WD 20mph wonder of Tony cant accelerate fast enough to escape Y4 attack its side€¦
FLIP!
The big bar of Novastorm is what hits the arena floor first and with quite some force! Salamander sees Novastorm lying defenceless and using its srimech, a fine moment to attack for Alex Holt!
CRASH!
That attack self-righted Novastorm, after the srimech did most of the work already mind you. But apart from €œhelping€ Novastorm, it also brings him into some degree of troubles as the bar spinner€™s bar is now bend quite a bit! Not to mention the damage done to the side panel! Novastorm turns around to show everyone that at least one of its weapons IS still working fine, namely its lifter. As the somewhat limp Y4 moves to Novastorm again, Salamander recognises the flipper as the current weakest opponent currently available and has a go at it€¦
CRASH!
OUCH! The already bend side now pushes the wheel away even further. So badly in fact that the wheels isnt even able to move anymore! This looks bad for Chris, very bad, very very bad.
