      Hobbyweights anyone?

Sorry to revive an old thread but I thought Id turn your attention to some new 6kg robot kits which would probably be an excellent start for a young person to get involved with roboteering. I would say, from seeing these kits close up, they would make great fun for anyone from 8 to 80!

The Robo-Kits are 6kg fighting robots fully adaptable for different events. The chassis is made from a super-strong combination of precision welded steel panels, while weapon attachments can easily be added or removed. Each kit fits many different attachments such as spikes, scoops, hammers, and possibly in future, active weapons. The kits are really ajustable in any way you could imagine, without the user ever having to get out a hacksaw. Also, you dont need to go into the fuss of getting any electronics! Each kit comes complete with EVERYTHING you need to make a completely versatile combat machine.

Just go to http://www.robochallenge.co.ukwww.robochallenge.co.uk and use the contacts page (http://www.priorycastor.co.uk/web2/contact.htmhttp://www.priorycastor.co.uk/web2/contact.htm) to ask for more info.

James? Is it just me or did you buy robo-challenge.com and redirect it to your xbots site? see http://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/checkdomain.pl?domain=robo-challenge.comhttp://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/c...-challenge.com
In my opinion this is certainly just as bad as the incident with RobotCrusade and the KanOpener website.

Re Gary - Its a shame that not all people can afford to buy all the tools and materials to build a fully functional fighting machine. This is certainly an excellent chance for those who dont have the time or cannot afford to build from scratch. Some of the features of the kits, such as some really effective and origanal drill mounts are really worth every penny.

                    Hobbyweights anyone?

I have had a breif look at the zeobot motors, and if i am correct, they are the same that i used in the origional PloughBot. They were good enough for what i needed them for at the time, and if there are many of them in a robot then thye should be ok. When i used them, they had steel gears, but Wayne (trilibium) used some in trilibium and kept on stripping and breaking the gears in them as they got changed to tuffnell gears. I dont know if that is the case with the zeobots though. Are they the tuffnell gears Paul? The motors from RS?

And Ewan, its not just you

Are Kilobots (1kg robots) stillin existance ? Thing is, I was given a metal case from a project my mate was working on, but screwed up, and I thought it would make a great 1kg robot (too small for 6kg), so do they still exist ?

Germany is a good Hobbyweight fighting country.

And 1 new Dutch machine did prove to be very evil.

VERY evil. So evil feathers shied away from it.

any uk event can run 6kg robots, in with the feathers.
for dedicated 6kg fights, we need more people to build them.
