Ben, even dicounting what Gary said about not being able to put the power down in 13.6kgs, I with a full cnc workshop wouldnt try to build a gearbox for a mag in a feather. To build one capable of delivering the power to the wheels in an acceptable weight would be very difficult.
But if you are insisting on trying then MOD1 gears minimum. Plus you would be better off with golds, astros or speed 900s much better for feathers.
im putting some mags in drive for my heavy and that will still spin the wheels with all the weight on them, so on a feather you have no chance it will just spin up like pillow torque used to.
even if you could get a gearbox in weight etc, the gears would after be bored and pocketed so much they would brake with the power of the mag
The featherweight Battlekits seem to be able to make 2 S28-150s work, to be fair - admittedly they use chains rather than gears, but its not an impossibility.
I do think though youre not taking reality into account when planning this - you seem to not have made any considerations for budget or indedd practicality.
ben what parts for your feather do you actually have just out of interest. also you said you were going to build a heavyweight robot too so you really have got your work cut out.
I think this is rapidly becoming a fairly pointless thread.
I grant you that a Mag powered feather is not impossible, but it would be an extreme technical challange even for a very experienced engineer, and then the result would be very questionable with regard to chassies strength and armour.
As Woody quite rightly states, to your last question, this subject has been done to death elsewere.
Mr Read, do you wish this thread to be closed and removed?
Ben, if you dont have a full machineshop at your disposal, you have a weight/money issue
Were doing the 1 shop stop in this. Robot marketplace is a suitable webbased shop.
2 magmotors S28/150. 3.5kg Pricetag £322
2 gearboxes capable handling the power with a suitable gearratio,

Weight 4.4 kg pricetag £492.5
To get the power to the motors, you need batteries that can deliver at least 200amps without transforming into magic smoke.
2 sets of the 24V 2400 mAh NiCD Battlepacks should be capable. £133 weight 2.4kg
For the same weight you can have the NiMH 3300mAh packs, but then you pay £150
Speedo, Roboteq is going over 100A (and the mag S28/150 can draw up to 280A). £274 weight 1.4 kg
Grand total. 11.7 kg without wheels and £1222
To compare, the KOS Astroflight motor/custom build planetairy gearbox/motor in wheel setup with Sidewinder speedo and 13.1V A123 cells is the same pricetag, for 4.5kg all in.
And the Speed900/MSR gearbox combination with 13.1V A123s and Scorpion XXL speedo is £500 for less than 4 kg.
