    A chamfer is a small rounded or diagonal edge so it won't snag on the arena floor.

    Oh, ok I'll keep that in mind, what exactly is a 'Chamfer'?

    I had considered the lifter idea but there isn't space for a motor and gear transmission to be added to give the torge needed to lift the robots.

    This is a concept I have investigated myself so it would be great to see it put into action!

    You are more likely to catch the wedge on a join in the floor than on the edge of the pit IMO, o just put all small chamfer on the edge so no matter which way its going its going to ride over any bumps.

    My idea has a small ~1.5kg reversible drum (this was for a FW) in the middle of the pivoting section so that I would always have a weapon no matter which way up I was, but just having it as a powerful passive slambot would be good too.

    If you got under someone you could move the pivoting unit down, lifting the front of the robot up and getting your opponent properly off the ground!

    Oh yeah I see what you mean, they wasn't meant to be hooks, but I'm going to change the shape, mostly cause the blocks might get caught on the edge of the pit and the robot would get stuck.

    But I'll keep the front facing hooks in mind.

    I had pondered about using a servo to move the blocks should they get caught on something.

    Ah ok. I think I got confused because the hook shape is facing backwards. Might be a good idea to face them the other way. I think Daves robot Satanix had little forward facing hooks at the champs and did very well.

    Well the idea is that they stop other robots fly over the top of the robot, like Panic Attack did in series 2 of robot wars.

    As I said in a older post this is more of a idea I was experimenting with, wether it gets used or not is uncertain.

    Remembering that I'm a animator I did a animation of the rotation of my 'Wedge blocks' (grey parts) to show that they'll counter rotate as the robot rests on it's wedge.

    More of a experiment update, I wanted to see if I added two components that rotated depending on which way up it is.

    The idea is that it stop robots flying over the robot like a ramp.

    The way it makes the 'wedge blocks' as I like to call them rotate is through the front being down on the ground.

    might use it, might not, depending how practical it is

    Thanks, I'm an animator (by trade) and I simply used the same approach as I would do an animation. Plan out every aspect before even making a single frame of animation.

    In this case I am not starting to build any piece of the robot till I'm 100% sure the plan and research is finished.

    I already changed the design twice due to my research.
