  • So, there is a work around to my CAD issue. Sam Griffin AKA Sam_DRT was kind enough to test if he could convert the parts to DXF if I export them as a different file. Thanks again for doing that Sam. And through that test Sam did actually make it possible although he only tried it with one part. But by chance I discovered I had a 2D software that can read DXF and export DXF files. Using this software I was able to replicate the other parts from my Maya file in 2D and put them together with the DXF of the base plate.

    • Soooo, I just got my quote from K-cut and well... How much?! Only kidding I did think it would going to be around £200, £190 to be exact.

Time to save some pocket money.

      • Got bored and decided to model an idea in my head.

        • Yeah getting your whole chassis cut isn't gonna be cheap. What thickness were you going for?

Well.. it was just an Idea I had, I'm currently building a Antweight with a similar set up.

                    • More work on my 6WD bot idea.

                      • Added link covers, made mounts for XT60 connectors. Narrowed the 6WD (currently 48cm x 46cm x 10cm ) bot and arrange most of the mock internals.

                        • So I've looked at down sizing my 6WD bot codenamed CSB. I've also considered using brushless motors, gearboxes, drive belts to run the drive.

                          (smaller version on the left)

                          • That looks very cool, man. Nice and compact as well. I didn't realise you were designing a front-hinger too. If you build this we will need to have a battle!

Thanks Dominic, it's that compact that it's roughly the same size as your FHF bot concept. And yeah we need a FW FHF match. Though I need to actually build Wolf-E first, then again might not hurt to build this instead.

                              • More internal designing, featuring rough renditions of brushless motors with gearboxes and trying out a mechanism based on what I have seen being used in another featherweight front hinged flipper called Amnesia.
