Just rewatched the melee from last year. With any luck Binky wont be able to peel back the front blade of this version like tin foil. It will be a proper fight! We aught to have an all spinner Annihilator! It would be chaos!

Never looks like I'm making much progress (side effect of Pretend-O-Boting)

I sneakily machined the main weapon shaft at college the other day. I mean what else am I supposed to be doing, work or something? Idk. Got it to within 0.01 of 25mm so it should be fine. Fits the bearings nice. Also mounted the weapon gearbox and motor now.
Don't worry I will be making sure that the wiring is as far away from the spinning everything as possible. I'll hold off that until I have found a sensible wiring loom that makes sense and isn't too spaghetti.

Where have you decided on placing the link?

If you look you can see the shaft is hollow. Link will be above the bar Little spinner style. I'll be milling out a protective case/box for it though. Its the safest way to do it, although not the most practical for the robot. And thank you

Hi All,
Did some more on the battery mounting, added a bracket and some foam to protect it from shocks.




Also got the lid cut out and the hole for the pulley/bar to go through cut. The pulley is sitting about 4mm lower than it would normally because I just stuck it on there to show how it fitted through.



Bar got a coat of black paint, but the edges are kept bare, thanks to daveimi (I think) for the suggestion.




Still got lots to do. Hope it comes together ok. Cheers.

Will you have to remove the bar to get the top cover off to change batteries etc. or will you have smaller removable panels?

Massacre v Drumroll 2 v Conker - Fun times if weapon works, bad times if not.
Endeavor v Defector v Massacre - My least favourite robot types (taking a guess at what defector is, flipper)
DB10 v No Toy v Massacre - Spinner and an axe. The axe could do some serious damage to me as thin top panel. Spinner could break stuff.

So I'm not particularly confident in my draws. Don't think I'll be qualifying this year but I'm so looking forward to the fights.
