Did some work today. Milled out the pockets for the motor faceplates to sit in. 2 motors mounted.

Here is part of the finger joint and motor pocket

Also finished drilling and tapping out the pulley.

      Wouldn't be a proper post without a Pretend-O-Botâ„¢

      Also Ellis made a GIF

I finished off the pockets for the motors to sit in. Not the most legit work ever but it functions

Put everything back together, got the motors in position. They fit quite snugly witch is nice. Frame looks suitably chunky.

          And with the wheels

And here is working out some positions for the mounting of stuff like the weapon esc, battery mounts/padding and that.

It seems to be coming along quite nicely.

What are the slots on the inside of the back panel for?

The allow me to run another set of bulkheads along the inside of the frame. I have an alu set but they may prove too heavy. I've got hdpe in the same thickness so if there is enough weight for those I'll stick them in. They will have a use regardless even if its just to give something to mount components too.

Oh and I started on the weapon gearbox this afternoon. This is mk4. By far the most solid and hardcore

Hope nobody minds the picturespam too much.

Looking great, can't wait to see it! Picturespam is good, more interesting than just text :P. Also like the 'Do not lick' sign on the brushless ESC!

That sticker does has a use... that bot is looking finger licking good so far. Even if most bots that come across it will have it disagreeing with them if they (try to) take a bite.

Looks great, what size bearings you using for the blade and gearbox shaft?

Cheers guys I appreciate the comments .

Bar has got 25mm bore roller bearings pressed into the pulley, if these turn out to be too weak I have bushings in the same size so i can transplant them. Gearbox has a 10mm shaft.

                            Yo,

Got my belts and the steel pulley in the post today. Shame I've got to write about machining techniques for college today instead of going out to the shed and doing the practical

Pulley has a 10mm bore and a keyway. The boss is way to flimsy now so I'll just chop it off.

All the stuff feels nice and strong, but I have plenty spare belts (I hope) 15mm wide HTD5 If you're interested.

Bit more work done, gearbox and things are getting bolted together. Got a fair few holes still to put in the base and figure out where the everything can go. Small robot is small, but heavy robot is heavy :/

The gap on the right hand finger joint is because I haven't got round to tapping the holes yet.

I really need to work out what I'm going to do with the base. I don't particularity want to leave it all rusty etc. May attack it with sandpaper then polish or something.

Also ground clearance is better than I thought. Still less than I would like but that's one worry gone. Making the thing function is now the main goal.

                                Cheers.
