I bought one of these recently, most likely to be used for the lifting mechanism in my Cassius replica. Not the fastest (although with the correct leverage/linkage it could be) but it's meaty as hell in the torque department. Weighs 160g and costs £12, can't go too wrong with it.
i using two of those together for more torque
my parts list(basicly the same as david westons)
2x 100:1 mfa como motors
12v 2600mah nimh
10mm thick hdpe(chopping board!)
40mhz radio gear.
got an old electic screwdriver motor which may end up being a spinner
a good sized brushless out runner would be fine for a weapon
my wheels are held on with araldite, probably not a good idea to mount the disc directly to the motor
I use:
2x MFA motor (15:1) with 50mm wheels for drive
a 12ah sabretooth speed cotroler
lego pnumatics, with a deodrant can, or copper pipes for the cilinder
and 6mm hdpe for the body
and 1.5mm stainless steel for the armour
and I dont have a battery yet
but is there going to be an event? because if its going to the guildford event its getting quiet close
Apparently very popular in Beetles in America and come in several gearbox ratio's. Good amount of torque, especially compared to the MFA's on Technobots and lighter.
Unfortunately gotta order form America, haven't looked to availability in England yet.
They are good, Ive got some for my beetle if I make it...tried them out on a test chassis and they were pretty good with a 20mm wheel. Kenny also has them now in the latest version of 180
me and kenny just got them direct from Robotmarketplace...there P+P cost's arent as bad as everyone thinks... and there delivery time is quite good too.
