How have beetleweights cost less than antweights?

A lot of people who have built them have the parts spare from antweights. I have all my beetle bits from other projects.

smaller components can be more expensive, also the 5 amp speed controller (as used by many beetlewights) is also used in antweights

I really would like a BW FBS or bar/drum spinner but I don't have a clue what parts I would need

                here's a list of what i used:

                2x £4 huge servos
                10mm chopping board
                2.5mm aluminium treadplate
                wheels from a pushchair
6v 1ah nicad battery made from drill battery cells

i'm thinking about making a kilobot bar spinner in future but i'll have to see how much the bar will cost to be machined

it is a seraphim style thwackbot, servos have built in escs so i just use them

I'm nit too fussed about price so what is probably the biggest servo you can buy?

There are some HUGE servos for winchs and such, but too big I think.

                        My parts list:
                        1 x 5A Sabretooth
                        2 x MFA 100:1 motors
                        1 (maybe 2) 11.1v 1300mA Lipo
Speed 900 copy for a weapon motor.

Are those lighter ones still a little heavy for beetleweights?

the ones gary linked are 780 grams so not suitable for a beetleweight i use 60g towerpro ones 4kg/cm torque. they're fine on flat surfaces but complain when you try to take them up a slight hill.

by the way kookaburra is currently not working due to it falling 1ft from a shelf the servo horn snapped in 4 places, i'll investigate getting some metal servo horns or maybe invest in better motors+ speed control in future

Does anyone have a link to a good powerful servo that is also usable?
