so would this 12V 3700mAh be better than using a 9.6 for me and would just 1 run my bot?

      Tom,

Theres a pic on my profile of how it was a few weeks ago, the batteries inside it were 12v 3700mAh so they should be fine. I found that in the end I didnt need to use 2 as 1 pack would run it for about 1/2 hour.

The chassis is just tapped and bolted together and the motor mounts are the same as the ones James Baker sells. They are cut down though because the height of the body is 5cm.

As for progress pics to see how the chassis was made have a look at Ewans site as it is what used to be Action. http://www.micro-maul.co.uk/action.htmlhttp://www.micro-maul.co.uk/action.html

One power supply, either O-IP2000 or O-IP2004 as labeled on this page should do the job.

You could change the connectors on the packs yourself to Anderson power poles for example or buy some Tamiya connectors to connect the lot together as-is.

remember that test frame i made? well today i had nothing to do at work so after about 15 cups of tea and reading the same nuts magazine about 6 times i decided to make a body and a little flipper for the test frame. ill post a little vid of it on youtube i have made a weird flipper. if you look at it the rams pull and works on a pivot instead of straight forward push. most i have flipped it a 4lb hammer so far.

Looks well made. That layout could be up to 6kg bots, but still those rams are tiny

Low pressure pneumatics are fun but expensive so Im finding myself.

Both those chargers could to the job, but poorly. Both only have two selectable charge rates (meaning you have little choice on how fast you charge your packs and the minimum time youd be able to charge from flat with either of those options would be about three-four hours, assuming a 3700mah pack, not so good for live events). Maybe its best to invest in something of a higher quality, depending how far your budget can stretch.
