    MacFan Fic - Season 1

    MDU3 VS Tengu

Well weve been here before, just previous incarnations. Main tactic is to keep total translation RPM down @ 1500rpm(Max of 2500) and bend his spinning shell in till it stops working. Once that is done, Tengu is not much of a challenge. I should take far less energy from the impacts compared to Tengu due to the fact my whole robot is rotating and there is no fixed axial point like in a shell/ring spinner. I want to stay agressive as possible in this match!

Knightrous Wedge VS Back 2 Rock 2

Simple tactics, rush B2R2 as soon as I can, attacking from the sides or back, getting under those skirts and pushing him to the wall, pin him against for wall for 20seconds. Then flip him over and push him to the next wall back off and give him a few seconds to selfright, but as he is about to finish self righting, rush under the airborne skirts, push him to the next wall and pin him again for 20 seconds. The idea is that, Knightrous Wedge is not very destructive, but is very fast, controllable and has a controlling weapon, so if I can keep controlling the opponent all the way through the match with out letting him have a chance, then I will rack up a lot more point in control and agression, making up for the lack of damage.

If I fail to go under the skirts, Ill just push him sideways since my front wedge will only lift to the top of those skirts and find a good pushing hold against the box sides on B2R2.

*Is that RP or tactics Alex *

    Axeius VS Infusion

Simple tactic. Spin up, tear hole out of the armour from the sides. Advanced tactic. Spin up the shell up to full speed, dodging any of his movements in the process. Wedge him with my wedge, get under and then just sit there spinning, his drive will be off the ground and he will not be able to move, what Ill do then is slowly pivot on the spot and try to shift the wedge around to let the spinning rim come undernieth Axeius, a further more rotation on the spot will allow the wedge to slide out from under Axeius and let him drop his under belly into the teeth of my spinning rim. The idea being that if I can attack him from underneith with the rim, I can take out his drive wheels and cause immobilisation....

Easy to follow those Role-Tactics Alex

      MDU3 VS Tengu

So we meet again MDU, but theres one little thing you forgot to take into account. Last time was before the spinner ring as added to tengu - this time your energy will me largely dissipated upon the hits, Ill use the standard blades as although if they worked the other ones would be very good, whether they would work is slightly iffy so Ill stick with the basics, try and bounce it off me into the walls with the impacts to essentially double the impacts it has.

        http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b212/teamvertex/tengoo.jpghttp://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...tex/tengoo.jpg

If I attack in the projected angle show by blue lines in the link diagram, Ill be able to transfer effectively all my energy into the anti-spinner rim without dissapating any energy into making the rim rotate. This is due to the angle of approach. This is based on practical work Ive done on a metal lathe. If I have the tool too high in the cutting approach, the tool doesnt cut clean and chatters, but if I match the cutting edge with the axial centre of the steel, I can cut smoothly without chatter or viabration (lose of energy)

The same principle will work with attackin Tengoo. Alex makes a good plan with trying to deflect me into the wall, but fortunately for me, I have 3 wheel actively accelerating and breaking to maintain the translation, which will allow MDU3 to gain traction on the floor during and after an impact several times faster then Tengu, who has no form of drive feedback whatsoever.

But aside from tactics, this match can go either way, its up to the writer to decide who he will be cruel to and who he will award the match to. For my sake, lets hope its a repeat of the past

          ROUND 1
          CHAOS 2 VS Street Magician

OK, from what Ive gathered, Tonys bot is something of a cross between Big Nipper and Splinter. With superior speed and manoueverability on my side, my main aim will be to get around to Street Magicians side (it says nothing about skirts in the stats, I believe) and flip it a few times to disorientate it.
From then on, keep to the sides and try ramming it into the arena discs. With any luck, the 7mm titanium will take a good amount of damage and if after several trips to the flywheels there is little harm, Ill get to the sides again and do my damndest to try and get another OOTA onto Chaos list.

All the best on this first run, Alexio!

            MacFan Fic - Season 1

Due to some complications yesterday and today, fights will be delayed ONE DAY. The other three fights will be up tommorow, so do not dismay. Just read this fantastic opening fight, and enjoy. No this is not an attempt to get you more anticipated and like my Tournament better like the XBox 360 =D.

            STREET MAGICIAN VS. CHAOS 2

            From Glasgae, Chaos 2!

Fresh from being bought off of Ebay for less than ten pounds, Steve has decided to enter this second carnation of the two-time winner into MacFan. As the first realie, and the first robot, Steve hopes that the previous success that this machine has had in Robot Wars will exist here, but will Chaos 2 rise? Or will the Chaos turn to turmoil and anarchy?

From Oswego, New York, Street Magician!

If Chaos 2 was fresh off of Ebay, then this guy came fresh off the streets. Probably inspired by those despicable people trying to earn enough money to eat at Burger King; Tony has seen fit to put a Splinter-style mechanism on this robot to allow it to grab hold of the opponents, not only to damage the opponent from the forceful hug, but also to be able to bring it to hazards of all sorts. However, will Street Magician be able to earn a little more money here? Or will his seemingly endless supply of annoying trick eventually run out?

            Chaos 2 vs. Street Magician

Both robots come barreling out of their squares (Street Magician the blue, and Chaos 2 the red), and, as Chaos 2 being the quicker, Steve€™s Chaos 2 gets to the center first to make it€™s move. Street Magician stops it€™s advance and waits to see what Chaos 2 will do. Eventually, Chaos 2 tries to use its speed and go for the side of Street Magician. This, however, comes to no avail as Street Magician just turns to face him. Tony now just moves his machine forward for the first confrontation, as Chaos 2 tries again for the side. Street Magician easily matches this again, and then barrels forward. His plow easily gets under Chaos 2€™s flipper plate, and now the claws clamp shut. The two arms pierce the lowly armored side with ease, as Tony takes his trapped opponent to the deadly spinning discs. Because he is so far up the plow, Chaos 2 cannot challenge this with a pushing match and is slowly and painfully being led to the killer saws. A huge smash goes around the arena as Tony finally gets there, and Chaos 2 getting his back obliterated. The Ipswich flipper gets flipped over in an acrobatic manner over Street Magician€™s head, as tons of white smoke comes out of Chaos the second€™s back; the CO2 tank seems to have been punctured. After what seemed like an eternity to Steve, Chaos 2 finally lands back on his wheels, the damage now apparent. The lexan guarding his internals from the back is smashed; his CO2 bottle has a large gash in it, and some wires are frayed. However, as Steve presses forward on the controller, Chaos 2 seems to comply, as if perfectly normal. Dismayed, but not defeated, Steve goes on the attack again, this time finally getting underneath Street Magician€™s side. Amazed that Chaos 2 still has some fight left in him, Tony tries wiggling the arms up and down to free himself, but to no avail. With a sadistic grin on his face, Steve brings Street Magician€™s side right into the same disc. This time it is Tony€™s turn to cringe, as an arm is sent flying, right out of the arena. That€™s about one tenth of the robot out of the arena, now for the rest =P. There is also a large gash on the side, but other than that, Street Magician is pretty much fine. Angry, Tony turns his machine around and charges. Chaos 2 tries to side step it, but fails in doing so as Street Magician barrels underneath. His remaining arm clamps, putting another dent in the side, although smaller. Chaos 2 falls off of Street Magician€™s plow, and tries to get away, but accidentally goes over the spikes. They pop up, and almost take Chaos 2 on his side, but Chaos 2 slowly comes back down. However, it wasn€™t anticipated that Street Magician would be right there to make sure that Chaos 2 wouldn€™t get away this time. He barrels under once more, and the momentum of going up the plow makes Chaos 2 go right up and on his back. Steve tries firing the flipper hoping that there is some magic potion left, but it seems that all the CO2 is gone. The countdown has begun, and Tony jumps for joy as he gets through the first fight of this tournament.

The Chaos is calmed down, as Chaos 2 is put into a rehab facility. Street Magician, manages to make a few more bucks as well as another win!

            STREET MAGICIAN ADVANCES.

Im afraid I will have to push the delay back until next weekend. I am very angry at myself for doing so, because I hate the delays that come on in FRA. Nevertheless, I am but one man to do this work, as well as some projects. I probably would have had these fights done, if it wasnt for my mother; who belives that if Im not doing work, then Im an idiot.

Of course, with the lack of feedback on the first fight, I can see that people dont mind at all. Thanks!

              Seriously.
              Well see you next Friday!

Well, its obvious why Ive not said anything about the last fight.

Smartarsing aside, that was a very wooty debut, Alex. And dont worry about having to delay - were all too used to it on this forum.

                      *snores*....

wai- wha- fights? Oh right, yeah. Um... heres one, the other guys will come up Sunday... yeah...

                      ACHILLIES VS. ORKA MK 4

                      From Geddington, England, Achilles!

NSBFL 6 Winner, and all time crowd favorite, this Greek warrior is ready to rumble. As usual, we see the awesome weapon synergy that allowed it to do so well in so many other tournaments. A flipper that, as always, is an excellent weapon, can be turned into a lifter by exchanging the pneumatics for hydraulics. This lifter is complimented by an able claw, which isn€™t there so much as to damage, but there to keep the other robot within his control; a sort of €˜Behemoth axe€™ if you will. Combine this with good speed and armor, and this contender will be hard to take down. Will the heel be struck? Or will the famed invulnerability keep this competitor alive?

                      From Suffolk, England, Orka Mk4!

As this other robot comes out of the water, Orka Mk4 is obviously the fourth rendition of this excellent robot. I can see a sort of mirror match forming here, as Orka also implements the lifter plus grabbing item; only this is a little different. Instead of a flipping plate, Chris has gone and put a Behemoth scoop on there, with axe and everything! The slower at fifteen miles per hour, will may either prove to be a downfall, or it€™s advantage with a better control. Can this whale crush the opponent with one flap of its tail? Or will he be yet another beached mammoth?

                      Achilles vs. Orka Mk4

The light comes down from red, to yellow, to green, as the match begins with a shot. Orka begins by trying to maneuver to Achilles side, but hero stops that attempted with a quick turn to face him. Chris just keeps plowing on, however, and by having more force from already been moving (rather than just turning) the plow slides neatly underneath the flipper plate. Quick as a cat€™s reflexes, Chris activates the claw, which takes a nice hold on Achilles flipper. From this point of view, it looks to be bending the flipper ever so slightly upwards, but no one can be sure. Keeping in time with his attack, Orka quickly delivers Achilles to the nearest hazard, which just happens to be the lowly not so great saws of doom. The saws rise from the floor, Battlebox style, slowly cut easily through the five-millimeter titanium. Eventually Orka must release his opponent, and he backs off slowly to see his damage. Immediately it is evident; Achilles can no longer drive in a straight line. However, he has more than fifty percent mobility; what has happened was that the saw cut straight through the armor, and right into the axle that holds the wheel on. This has destroyed the mobility on his back-right wheel. However, with more than fifty percent mobility, he is still able to compete. It goes back to the fight, as Achilles is able to make use of his immobile wheel and swerves to Orka€™s side. Just as Orka had done to him, Achilles grips the claw on him and raises him in the air with the flipper. (This flipper for the record is hydraulic.) He brings him straight to the bigger saws of doom, yet trips along the way. Chris sees this as an opportunity and presses the flipper button, which, in turn, frees him from Achilles grasp. Orka turns straight away, as does Achilles, and they both charge at each other. The second bit of Achilles damage is apparent, as Orka gets under with ease. The claw must have bent the plat upwards just enough to raise the clearance. Once more Orka brings Achilles to the saw, which cut straight through the armor again. Achilles is release, and charges for Orka€™s side once more. He is able to make it again, and just flips Orka over this time. Just as Orka is about to self-right, the buzzer sounds; signaling the end of the match and our first judges decision.

Aggression - 8-7 in Orka Mk4€™s favor. It was close, as they were both aggressive, but the once thing was the beginning, where Orka just went with the charge.

Damage - 12-3 in Orka Mk4€™s favor. Not close at all, Orka took out Achilles drive and made some major saw marks at the back. Also, he slightly bent up Achilles flipper plate.

Control - 9-6 in Orka Mk4€™s favor. Orka controlled a lot of the match, getting Achilles in his grasp twice to Achilles once.

Your winner, by a 29-16 decision is Orka Mk4! Chris smiles a good smile as he has just taken down a giant.

As sneaky as he is, Orka kicked Achilles in the heel and takes the next place of the tournament!

                      *goes back to sleep*

Alrighty then, I promised and you shall recieve. The fights yay!

                        Axeius vs. Infusion!

                        From Somewhere in Canada, Axeius!

Axeius is a robot that gets right down to the point (haha). It will try and take a piece out of you using its very prominent axe. There is no doubt that Kevin was thinking of the previous third seed in Robot Wars while creating this axing machine. However, it doesn€™t have the best of armor and when it€™s facing an opponent such as the one today€¦ this guy could get the chop.

                        From Kilkivan, Australia, Infusion!

An odd little machine from down under, Infusion uses a sort of speed boost technology to give him that extra little speed whenever he needs or wants it. This is, of course, useful when you have a disc type robot that is usually slow and faces robots that are a lot faster than itself. His design is also somewhat strange, as it uses the famed Warrior SKF design with a disc at the rear and a wedge up front, to help with any of those pesky wedges. It€™s a seemingly perfect design, but when things are perfect they usually go wrong€¦

                        Axeius vs. Infusion

Infusion spins up and moves out, while Axeius charges the spinning machine. Infusion keeps his wedge pointed at Axeius to gain his max rotation€¦ and reaches it! Axeius charges in anyway and gets smashed right back! There is now a gigantic gash on the front of Axeius within the first few seconds! Axeius recovers from the hit, and tries to position himself more carefully now, dodging around the saws. Infusion, however, is biding his time, waiting for his opponent to strike. Axeius finally makes his next move, and charges in. Infusion moves in as well, hoping for a bigger hit, yet it seems Axeius has moved off to the side again and has moved in again! He finally strikes with his axe, hitting square on the wedge€¦ but it did nothing. Aaron grins at how well armored he made his wedge, and moves in once more. This time he gets under Axeius with the wedge, leaving Axeius unable to have any motion. Using the thirty seconds until he must release his opponent wisely, Infusion spins up to the absolute maximum. With twenty seconds left until he must release Axeius, he slowly turns around making the spinning rim come ever close. With ten seconds left, we hear a gigantic bang as Axeius is sent FLYING away! He€™s even flipped upside down now, as he passes over the saws on his flying trip. Upon closer inspection, his underside has a gigantic tear through it, making a pretty big hole. Some batteries are outside, a motor is shattered, but amazingly Axeius self-rights. Before he gets a chance to move, however, Infusion hits him once more with the disc€¦ that sends him right into the killer saws of doom! Now he€™s sent upwards and falls back down€¦ right on Infusions spinning rim once more! Plates of armor are hanging off of Axeius, the axe has been severely bent along the lines and the head of the axe has cut through his own armor. Motors are smoking; some of the batteries are absolutely shattered€¦ there is nothing left of Axeius. But for good sportsmanship, Aaron hits him one more time. =D

Axeius gets axed€¦ literally, and is completely torn apart€¦ also literally. Infusion goes through to the next round!

Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3 vs. Tengu VII!

Also from Kilkivan, Australia, Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3!

Winner of the all mighty PTT 3, and probably THE most feared spinning device ever, Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3 (Lovely dubbed MDU, or €œWhy oh why did I have to be in the same fight as HIM?!?€) uses the famed Cyclone Bot spinning formula to create€¦ Mass Destruction in its battles. If there was ever a design that just screamed champion, this is it.

Also from Geddington, England Tengu VII!

Runner up of the all mighty PTT 3€¦ wait a second. Mirror match much? Both PTT 3 finalists back for another round of destruction, to see if things could have gone different from back then. Since that time, Tengu has won After Burn 2 and SEKT and added a special anti-spinning ring to help against such spinners as€¦ Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3! That ring could be crucial in this fight, but from Aaron€™s tactics, there may be a way around it. Could this outcome lead to 2-0 for MDU€™s wins against Tengu? Or could Tengu finally avenge a €˜what could have been€™ decision so long ago?

Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3 vs. Tengu VII

Both robots do what they€™re made to do and spin up. A look of vengeance is in Alex€™s eyes, as he guns the forward key just like two years ago. He is able to get there before MDU gets to maximum speed, and also before Tengu can get up to speed. But the affects are seen; as MDU€™s spinning has been completely dissipated before he could even start the match. It seems apparent that Alex doesn€™t want Aaron to be able to position his attacks, a wise move as it is since all MDU needs is one hit at the proper angle turn the tide so much. Tengu comes in again and again, not even caring whether he€™s at full speed or even half speed. MDU is trying to get away, but the faster Tengu just keeps coming in. Finally it seems that MDU has been given a brake, as he hides around the saws. Tengu backs off and goes ahead and gets up to full speed, as does Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3. (Try saying that five times fast) They both come in when they reach full speed, as Aaron tries to get the correct angle€¦ but misses. They meet with a loud crash anyway, and are both sent spinning far away, MDU over the saws, and Tengu right into the side spikes. Looking at the damage, it seems that Tengu has a slight bend in his shell, but hardly anything to complain about, while MDU has€¦ lost one of his teeth! This is sending him horribly off balance, and Alex smiles at the predicament. Tengu comes in once more, spinning at top speed, and smacks the off balance MDU once more. Now another tooth has come off, while one of Tengu€™s teeth has a cut in it. Tengu comes in again, not bothering to spin up, and stops the feared MDU from spinning. He keeps coming in, and shoves MDU over the saws, which slightly cut into MDU once more. Tengu leaves him be for a second and spins up to about half speed before charging in again. MDU is trying to spin up, but those two lost teeth are causing a big imbalance in it, and is preventing MDU from reaching full speed. Tengu smacks into MDU once more, cutting into the actual chassis now, and sending him away. Tengu reaches full speed once more, and goes in again. MDU feebly tries to avoid but gets smacked once more, now with a big cut into the chassis. After this final hit, the buzzer sounds.

Damage - 9-6 in Tengu VII€™s favor. He really did damage MDU a lot, cutting two teeth off and cutting the chassis up a bit. MDU did a fair bit of damage to Tengu also, though, putting a cut in one of his teeth, as well as bending the shell a bit.

Control - 14-1 in Tengu VII€™s favor. MDU never had a chance; Tengu just kept ramming him and preventing any speed. And when Tengu did let MDU get up to speed, Tengu came in again and got the better hit.

Aggression - 12-3 in Tengu VII€™s favor. Constantly ramming, almost never running away; MDU ran away, and never tried for a ram.

Your winner by a 35-10 judges decision, Tengu VII! Vengeance is yours, Alex, vengeance is yours.

Mass Disctruction was caused, but only to Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3! =D Tengu makes the next round!

                        Next time!

Slaying Mantis F vs. Shovearound 2
Knightrouse Wedge vs. Back To Rock 2
Die Ceratops Re-Invertus vs. Shotgun Slapper
Metal Sonic Spin Dash vs. Sheer Hell

Thoughs, predictions, tactics, will I put off fights some more? Well see! =D

...um...ram it. With its Hardox covering, Spin Dash should hopefully be able to take the most powerful blows with limited damage. Basically, just aim for the sides (or crash straight into the discs to stop them depending on how suicidal I feel ), slip under, let the Mute-style barbs hook into the wheel housings and essentially bash it into anything that comes handy - hazards, the wall, the audience... Repeat until dead.

Get under the sides, lift it, and ram it to the saws and such. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Aside from getting me OOTA, he cant do much. Just stay far away from the arena walls and try to tear him up.

                                Nice battles Alex.

Few technicalities in the MDU V Tengoo (MDUs made entirely out of Hardox 450, Tengoo spinning shell doesnt produce the mega energy level able to tear thought it. Losing a tooth is no hassle to a translation spinner because the digital compass will detect axial movement not asked by the controll and will correct it with the motors. Pushing MDU, this is the second time its happened, and its again wrong MDU has 3 wheels, each wheel facing 120 degrees apart, each wheel is powered by a 60v ETEK! An opponent can start pushing MDU along any of the 3 sides, but the 3rd wheel is always parallel with the side being pushed, the smallest of acceleration from the drive wheel would instantly spin MDU off the front of the opponent and into safety. Your the second writer to have written the battle about a translational spinner, but hasnt researched how they work Mr McG got that far too...), but Im happy to let them slide. Its only a fanfic And it looks to be a good one too
