    "SPOD?! IS THAT YOU?!"

    Comment

    • "Not exactly...Spod is something like this' universes sequel to me, and if my suspensions are right, your acquaintance has already gone through the same thing I did. I survived the last multiverse by being in temporal flux in a travelling shop at the time. You seem fairly similar to the Aurelia I knew, though that bicycle is new.

I see you have already met his Majesty the Night Pine, but the others should be here shortly. In the mean time, any questions?"

      • "Psst. do you think we should do it?" playzooki whispered to khloe

        • "Spodra, I have so many questions. What exactly does the Old Worlds Club do? How do we fit into this? What was it that happened on the mountain site, with the stars, the void archon, the shield, how did we end up there in the first place?

... Spodra, give me a cause to fight for!"

          • "What do we do? Mainly we meet up to discuss and shape world events. There are not many of us left these days, we are immortal but that doesn't mean none of us can be killed or wander off from this place. As for what happened on the mountain it sounds like you witnessed some of the stars sacrificing themselves to fuel the void archon, giving themselves to give the archon more life to hold the shield that holds back the older void pressing on i from near orbit.

As to yourselves you are interesting - you came through the passages in the multiverse that the greatest experts of the world said were scarred shut due to the elder void energy - you should not be able to be here, and yet you are. That means something, although I dont claim to know exactly what.

As for a cause for you - how about this?

Would you like to save the multiverse and everything that has ever been from ceasing to exist?"

            • Aurelia raises her sword.

              "Yes, yes I would...

... but this does raise the question, why me?"

              Comment

              • "Yeah, why us?" Twitch chipped in, frantically flapping around the heads of the others, constantly glancing from one part of the room to the other. One minute he was in the church with the rest of the group, and now he was...well, he had no idea where he was. A second suddenly-finding-himself-somewhere-he-wasn't-a-moment-ago, the parrot deemed to be too much. "And another thing, at least give me some warning when you're going to teleport me somewhere!"

                • Cleo briefly assesses the room before introducing Eudial and Leland Gaunt.

"I asked them to join me here since we appeared to arrive together. We don't know why and we don't know how, but I assume it has something to do with whatever that shield is protecting us from... How did you arrive here and what is the purpose of the psycorps? Vortigon mentioned that I might be able to help you with something, is that why I'm here?"

                  Comment

                  • "As I said, you are the only ones to come from another universe in a long time, and that must mean something, there is something about you that is different, though what exactly that is I expect we will find out what that is."

                    *The door opens*

"Ahh, the other members are here, may I introduce The Botanist and the Catalyst."

The Botanist resembles a large emerald jelly in a vaguely human shape, with an alien skeleton suspended in it, and numerous vials and test tubes suspended from straps.

The Catalyst is wearing a large cloak thats obscures their features, but it seems notable that they appesr to be fluctuating between several different forms beneath that cloak, although nothing about the way it happens suggests it is voluntary...

                    • CLEO, LELAND and EUDIAL

"Though we have a lot of responsibility the psi-corps are few in number, and we are always excited by the prospect of new members - and you seem to be exceptionally potent. Would you be interested in a quick aptitude test? With that we could perhaps learn to better place you and find tasks which would help people and you would find enjoyable!"

She turns to Eudial and Leland
"I understand you are both magical beings, while I'm afraid we cannot allow access to the public to the inner sanctum, we could perhaps test the both of you for latent psionic abilities - they are quite common where magic is already present!"

                      AURELIA, TWITCH and MARISA

With the four members of the Old Worlds Club assembled, the Catalyst begins to talk in an accent that suggests a young asian woman.

"I shall be frank, you have shown yourselves.. not quite immune but...."

The voice suddenly switches to the rich, deep accent of an African man who sounds like he laughs a lot even as the figure under the hood seems to grow significantly taller and broader under the shoulders.

"resistant to the elder void, which is entirely unheard of I must say. Our task for you will be for you to acquire a spaceship, and travel up to confront the... source of elder void"

There is a groan of moving boughs from the Night Pine that somehow manages to suggests affirmation.

"We believe we have a place you can get hold of a space ship... there is an experimental King Industries outpost that escaped the purge nearby."

                      PLAYZOOKI & KHLOE

The Alakazam gone, a small glowing light appears in the air infront of them, and seems to suggest that the pair follow it.

                      • Playzooki inspects the light, and decides to follow it.

"i think we should follow this."

                        • Without any warning, the spirit of anthropomorphic personification of the voice of Morgan Freeman speaks out into the room. It appears that his voice is so authoritative that it has somehow become it's own separate conciousness.

"Playzooki, I have something important to tell you! The multiverse hangs in the balance, and you are one of the chosen few who can save it! I am here to tell you to believe in yourself! Or, failing that, believe in the anthropomorphic personification of the voice of Morgan Freeman who believes in you! Now, I must go. My planet needs me. Farewell! Remember to believe!"

The voice vanishes in a flurry of sci-fi sound effects.

                          • "uhhh... what... the... hell? ok whatever ill just follow the light."

                            • "Spaceship?" Twitch asked, looking increasingly apprehensive. "Confront, void...purge............wait, waitwaitwaitwaitwait!" he blurted, hovering himself back down to the ground. "Are you really sure we're the ones to pull this off?" he asked the Catalyst, "I mean, where are we gonna find the source of the void? What do we do when we get there?" So they might have been directed towards a means of transportation, but there were still far too many unknowns for Twitch to feel calm about this new escapade.

"How do we even fly the spaceship?" he continued, glancing frantically around the room towards nothing in particular, pacing form side to side and beginning to trail off into an anxiety-ridden monologue. "I'm hardly going to be much good, am I? I don't have any hands, I've no idea about hyperstellar travel and flight trajectories or anything like that, I'm a parrot! All I've got is a magnet on a string and a cassette-actually, I wonder if the spaceship has a cassette player, then I can find out what this Abba Gold person sounds like..."

At which point he realised everyone was staring at him, and immediately stopped his nervous rambling. Grabbing his bag in his beak, he took a few steps backwards alongside the others, folding his wings over himself a little.

                              • The voice of the Catalyst continues as the African mans for a second before switching to that of a slightly nasal and aloof sounding young woman.

"The source of the Elder Void is easy....."

The Hooded Figure walks over to a painting on the wall and slides it aside to reveal a control panel. A few button presses and suddenly the light in the room changes drastically as the ceiling changes to a projection of the sky outside, apparently it has changed little in the time since you were outside last. However, this is clearly a projection rather than the real thing, however, it quickly zooms in to the black speck against the sky in a blur until what appears there fills the whole ceiling.

What Twitch, Aurelia and Marisa see is a figure, seemingly a human male, holding some sort of staff, but seemingly paralysed and drifting in space. What is more concerning however is the other thing visible - that issuing forth from the figures eyes and mouth, and from the staff are tendrils of utter blackness, spreading outwards like a network of roots or veins.... The figure himself is almost entirely tangled in them with only small sections of him showing forth from beneath it, while the roots head downwards, branching outwards and plunging into the shield - at this magnification you can see that this is what the shield is deflecting against, and energy pulses are feeding towards this point as the blackness tries to burn its way through.

"Behold, the "great" Lord Doomforall. The death of this multiverse if you don't stop it."

The Botanist pipes in at this point.

"Don't worry about the ship my good friends, they have intuit-controls in anything built recently, they'll reshape themselves into the most obvious format for your mind. While you are down there I don't suppose you'd have a rummage through the biology labs, they've got a few great specimens of....."

                                The Night Pine creaks.

"Errr of course you are right old friend... that can wait I suppose in the circumstances..."

                                _____________________________________

Playzooki follows the light... taking him through strange corners of the city, past upside down houses and shops crafted of strange materials like sloeberries or stationary and other oddities until eventually he arrives outside what appears to be a small graveyard down a backstreet. Unlike a normal graveyard however, this one has a locked door and two guards - a robotic knight with the head of an antelope holding some kind of energy lance and what could best be described as the resulting creation of a blending of a jellyfish with staplers on the end of its tentacles and a badger which could fly.

The glowing orb flashes red and gestures aggressively. The suggestion of that is definitely for violence.

NOTE: In advance of a fight, I need tactics. Giving me some on skype/msn is fine, but if I don't get them quickly I'll just assume some.
