Apologies for not putting anything up yet. I've got a lot of things on my mind, so don't expect anything soon. Please don't abandon this yet

Decided to venture into this section of the forum. Certainly makes for interesting reading

I'm not going to start arguing about any results because they make for interesting reading but I thought I would just point out a few small mistakes,

      - T2 has a titanium not a steel shell (mentioned somewhere near the start of thread). 3mm thick titanium with a 2mm thick ali shell 1 inch below that, ie double skinned. The lower steel ring is bolted to the shell by 60 bolts (complete pain to get off I'll tell you!)
      - In terms of tipping T2 over, its very unlikely. The steel ring around the base weighs in at just over 30Kg meaning the centre of gravity is exceptionally low. The gyroscopic effects actually keep the ring spinning in the same plane, ie horizontally even if flipped (whilst spinning) into the air. If you need vertification take a look at the san francisco battle between viscious circle and T2. T2 smacks into the wedge and flies up vertically 3ft but stays completely horizontally. Thats why a proper flip at low speed is needed

O and if 40Kj hits a hardox spike, its gonna bend. Hardox really isn't all its cracked up to be with the new series of featherweights being able to seriously dent it and in some cases tear through it. In those cases there is around 6KJ involved.

...I'd not read too deeply into the fanfic section Gary, for someone of your technical disposition it may be deeply disturbing

Joey has a point... Might end up with Typhoon II, in a tourney, getting ripped apart by a 500kj walking FBS...

Lol always fun to dip into the less financially intense side of roboteering

Now thats a spinner I would love to have a go of!

Pfft, a 800kJ walking FBS won VFTs 3 & 4, and PTT3, pretty much destroying everything in its way (heck, Gyrate was even worse if not as successful...8MJs...); it's since been replaced with a translational spinner.

But yeah, don't take things too too seriously here Gary.

Yeah... MDU was a beast back in the day, but the era of 800kJ walking FBSs are over, cause 500kj is enough to kill most things nowadays!!!

Mark, you seem to have several versions of American Oil that are just retired versions of Cyrilum. Can you please make which American Oil you want to use clear, please

                      This one:

                      American Oil (Retired)
                      Weight: 110kg
Shape: All Torque (S2), which is a long box with a wedge on the front and back. However, the wedge at the front is extended all the way to the ground. The sides are also slanted 10 degrees inward, like a wedge, to prevent stranding.
Colour: Chrome with 3 stripes: one red, one white, and one blue running down the middle. The sides are black.
                      Dimensions: 85cm x 70cm x 20cm
Drive: 4 24v S28-400 Magmotors, powered by 6x NiCad Battlepacks.
                      Locomotion: 2 70cm x 5cm x 10cm rubber tank tracks.
                      Armour: 6.5mm titanium/vanadium alloy
                      Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front due to extended wedge, and at the sides and back due to torsion-sprung 3.5mm titanium skirts. The springs are wrapped around a foam rod to prevent shock damage. 5mm without skirts.
                      Turning Circle: 0m
Weapons: A 750psi rear-hinged flipper with 20 flips mounted on the front, powered by a 2.2kg Co2 tank. The robot uses an 80mm bore 150mm stroke ram, and the rear wedge should prevent me from flipping myself.
Srimech: The flipper. Luckily, the slightly modified All Torque shape prevents it from being stranded on its side.
Strength: Tough, uses the 10kg track advantage wisely.
                      Weakness: Tracks Controversy
Bio: Cyrilium returns to the Cyrilium 2 design. I have decided to be possibly stupid and revive it, mostly due to me not properly exploiting the tracks weight advantage. The machine has now been turned back into Cyrilium after I found out that there will be no more new major tournaments for a while.
                      Win/Loss Ratio: N/A

You shouldn't enter it if it's retired.

Thank you, Mark. Shall I ignore the 10kg extra weight?

The first fight will begin when I feel like it. A lot of things have been happening, so be patient

Nah. The extra 10kg stays, as it's the 10% weight bonus I get for using tracks.
