    Tracy, I also still need your Featherweight, but since your bots likely appear a little later in the tournament, I can wait a little longer if need be. Though sooner rather than later would be better :wink:

              Leprosy Infection VS Mobile Failure VS Nidhogg Evo VS Propane Nightmare

              ...well, its not an official teamup, but Im sort of cooperating with Dan here, seeing as he has the most dangerous thing in the melee
              I shall go for the Failure first and foremost, it has a very narrow angle of attack with the axe so I should easily be able to avoid that. Get underneath the skirts with the front spikes, lift to reduce its traction on the floor, crush it a bit, and then dump it into the path of Propane Nightmare, down the pit, or into the residence of the nearest convenient house robot.
              After that, if LI is still around I shall rinse and repeat the above tactics on Chris too.

              Avoid Propane Nightmare if at all practical, a swipe against it will undoubtedly cause me more trouble than I really want.

                Tactics!!

                Leprosy Infection VS Mobile Failure VS Nidhogg Evo VS PROPANE NIGHTMARE

                A very interesting lineup here for Propane Nightmare, one I am actually very happy about! I am not going to go for any team ups, per se, but concentrate on knocking a single robot out. That robot will be...

                Leprosy Infection (sorry Chris!)

                The reason I am goign to be focussing on immobolising Leprosy Infection is because I feel it to be the weaker of my opponents in regards to fighting a Translational spinner such as Propane Nightmare.

                The machine is rather small, and the hinged skirts should offer little protection from a 100kg spinning mass such as Propane Nightmare.
                It is doubtful that the vertical drum can do any damage to me. In most horizontal vs vertical matches, it is usually the horizontal spinner that comes out on top (there are obvious exceptions to this rule, of course!)
                The machine tends to rely on its weaponry rather than any pushing capabilities, a point emphasised by the lack of a wedge/scoop for pushing. Propane Nightmare is a difficult machine to push around: once its spinning, youre gonna get hurt!
                Its made from Titanium. Titanium = sparks. Sparks = points!

                My tactics against Leprosy Infection are as follows: spin! If I can get a good solid hit on either side or the front, I should cause some horrific damage either by ripping a skirt off and exposing the 7mm Titanium or by whacking the drum and potentially buckling/snapping the weapon axle, rendering Leprosy Infection weaponless and pretty much helpless in the arena. I will keep Propane Nightmare away from the arena walls (incase of any nasty deflections) and away from any arena hazards. If Leprosy Infection attempts to lead me towards an arena hazard such as the Launch Pad or a CPZ, ignore him and aim for someone nearer.

                Good luck Chris, Joey and Tracey! This looks like it is going to be an amazing tournament! Good luck Steve, I would hate to be in your shoes writing these battles, there are so many machines that have the potential to win and possibly cause an upset against a few of the favourites in this!

                  Not a good first outing for Kill Saw I have to admit. Ill attack whoever attacks me, just drive in underneath and shred their tyres/under armour, hopefully damaging them. Anyone for a team-up?

                      Eurypterus Evolved vs. Gehenna vs. Kill Saw vs. Raging Tempest

                      I€™ll accept a team-up with Liam for two reasons:

                      1) Kill Saw reminds me of my old vapourbot UnderForce
                      2) Raging Tempest needs to be disposed of

                      I€™m going to mainly just use the wedge shape and not the flipper against Raging Tempest. The closer I can get to the arena walls the better, and when Raging Tempest bounces off my wedge, Kill Saw can go in for some tyre-shredding while its spinning slower. Ideally, Eurypterus Evolved could help out as well, because there is no way Raging Tempest can keep away from three opponents trying to corner it. Once it hits one of us and slows, the remaining two can safely go in for the kill after it has thrown itself away. Eventually we can push it/it can fling itself into the arena hazards. Against Eurypterus Evolved I€™ll use my own spinning bar to try and damage the side skirts. There are plenty of wheels there for Kill Saw to attack, anyway.

                      In short, my tactics are €œdrive around randomly and pretend to know what I€™m doing€

                        Meh, tactics are gonna go out the window here, I can tell, but Im gonna go against the fashion and say that Nidhogg and Leprosy will go through. Propane Nightmare will probably either kill itself in one hit, or be unable to spin-up again after a hit due to being attacked, and Mobile Failure...dunno. I just think Chris will outlast Tracy, I guess. Sorry Trace. :P

                          EURYPTERUS EVOLVED Vs GEHENNA Vs KILL SAW Vs RAGING TEMPEST

                          FROM HOLLAND, EURYPTERUS EVOLVED!
                          (Represented by Alex McWilliams)
                          Although named after an extinct genus of sea scorpion, Eurypterus Evolved has no intention of dying out any time soon. Previously a winner of the ARC Redemption Superheavyweight Division, this newcomer is less of an aquatic arachnid and more of a...tank. A big one. This low, skirted box has no real weapons to speak of, other than sheer power. The robot runs off four Dunstins at 34v with a 50.4:1 ratio, giving speeds of 20mph and all the torque its six wheels will ever need. Eurypterus is also equipped with two interchangeable shovels - a hinged wedge for more effective pushing and a concave plow for deflecting spinners. 6mm titanium gives this scorpion a tough shell and its invertible frame and skirts make it a slippery customer for flippers. This does leave the wheels open to axes and crushers, though, and with no active weaponry whatsoever, Eurypterus may not have enough sting to survive.

                          For this fight, Eurypterus Evolved will be using the concave plow.

                          FROM BOURNE, IN LINCOLNSHIRE, GEHENNA!

                          As the newest member of the Ripper vapourbot family, Gehenna has a lot to live up to. It is descended from a VFT champion and PTT Finalist after all. This young whippersnapper is a low wedge with sloped sides and, like its ancestors, is armed with an efficient flipper-spinner set-up. The flipper is forward-hinged, ala Firestorm and Envy, and runs at 145psi on carbon dioxide, meaning that flips come fast and hard. The spinner is a horizontal spinning bar mounted on the rear, which can get up to nearly 2500rpm. Get hit by either of the weighted ends and youre in for 22kJ of hurt, my friend. Like previous Rippers, Gehenna is an excellent all-rounder, with great speed and manoueverability, as well as great protection from its Titanium/Vanadium alloy shell and Hardox flipper. It is untested, however, and its two Asmaprene urethane rubber-tyred wheels may not be enough against todays high-powered rammers. Named for the Jewish equivalent of Hell, will Gehenna damn or be damned?
                          IN PTT2 (as Son of Ripper): beat the likes of Thermidor 2 and Chaos 2 to reach the Semi-Finals, only to be haulted by Razer in the second round
                          IN PTT3 (as Son of Ripper 0.2): made the Semi-Finals again by throwing away Kan Opener, but was shredded in the first round by Tengu IV
                          IN PTT4 (as Son of Ripper 3.5): claimed Fourth Place, defeating Supreme Glory Gamma, Bulldog Breed and Squish among others
                          IN PTT5 (as S.O.R. 4.0): pitted by N.S.B.F.R. X in its Heat Final

                          FROM CARDIFF, KILL SAW!

                          Making its battle debut here in the PTT, Kill Saw is determined to prove itself a cut above the rest. It might look a simple skirted wedge at first glance, but looks can be deceiving. Inspired by the Kill Saws of the Battlebots Battlebox, its main weapons are two large, retractable circular saws hidden within the wedge. These brutal blades pop in and out of the body courtesy of a 750psi pneumatic ram and are powered by an S28-400 magmotor at 24v to give terrifying speeds of 8000rpm! I hope everyone brought extra plasters! Kill Saw is also a capable rammer, with Hardox armour and four vulcanised HDPE wheels for extra traction, and its two self-righting arms, rounded rear and heavy skirting mean that flippers will be little bother. That said, top speeds of 17mph may make it difficult to control and if a flipper does manage to beat those skirts, a high ground clearance may cause Kill Saw to buzz off early!

                          FROM GAINSBOROUGH, RAGING TEMPEST!

                          After three previous failures in the PTT, Tempest is understandably rather annoyed, so the former AJWars champion is going all out this time to ensure victory this time around. Still a classic ring spinner, the rim of this squashed cylinder is fitted with four six-inch long hardox teeth and is powered by two LEM-130s, running at 36v. This means the blades can reach speeds of 1500rpm and deliver nearly 70KJs per hit - more than enough to sink the hopes of its enemies! Tempest also comes with two additional foot-long blades which can be fitted to the underbelly and used to rip up wheels and tracks, ensuring that no part of a robot is safe from the rage! Tempest is well-equipped to fend off fellow spinners, protected by a mixture of Hardox, polycarbonate, titanium, as well as a buttload of shock-proofing. The two wheels are exposed to overhead attacks, however, and poor pushing power could see the Tempest swept away with ease.

                          ACTIVATE!

                          The PTT lives again!
                          Everybody seems eager to get started, as our first four competitors burst from their spotlights. Raging Tempest begins spinning up, only to be stopped by a shunt from Gehenna! Frank backs off, but winds up being bumped by Kill Saw! It looks as though Raging Tempest is the main target here, as Eurypterus Evolved charges into the Void Activation Button! As the siren blares, Frank manages to dodge another onslaught by Gehenna and races across the arena! The shell reaches maximum speed just as Eurypterus comes in for an attack of its own! Raging Tempest narrowly dodges the huge titanium scoop and homes in on Gehenna and Kill Saw, who have decided to gang up on the others! Gehenna comes in for another ram, but only clips the spinner as it manouevers to the side! Raging Tempest swerves around towards Kill Saw and smacks into the newcomers side! Sparks fly as the two robots are thrown apart, Kill Saw now sporting some roguish scars on its Hardox armour! Raging Tempest runs away to rev up its shell again, closely followed by Gehenna! This leaves the two newcomers, Eurypterus and Kill Saw, to duke it out amongst themselves. Kill Saw tries to outmanouever its foe, but Eurypterus catches the colourful wedge in its great scoop! Alex pours on the gas, smacking Liams machine sideways into the east wall once and twice! The third time, however, wedge and scoop meet head-on - Kill Saw bounces against the wall and Eurypterus drives up onto the wedge! Seizing the moment, Liam turns Kill Saw into the wall and pins Eurypterus, nibbling its underbelly with those enormous saws! Liam is feeling very pleased with himself, but the feeling doesnt last. After only a few seconds of tummy tickling, Eurypterus wheels get a grip and Alexs entry shoots away to safety! Retracting its blades, Kill Saw follows in furious pursuit!
                          Meanwhile, Gehenna and Raging Tempest have engaged each other in a merry dance. Both the veterans are nippy and highly manoueverable, making it hard for either to land a blow. By now, Raging Tempest is a whirling dervish and Frank is eager to share his blades with Andy! His chances comes at last as Raging Tempest clips Gehennas left side! As neither robot is thrown too far away, the spinner manages to land a second blow! This time both machines are sent spinning, with Gehennas Titanium/Vanadium armour taking a few dents. Gehenna recovers first, however, and charges its opponent before it can regain its sense of direction! The slowed blades hit the wedge, but are simply ground to a halt! Gehenna pushes hard against Raging Tempest and forces the former AJWars champ towards the bottom of the arena - specifically, towards Michael Pliers CPZ! Creeping underneath the 10mm ground clearance, Gehenna fires its flipper and topples Raging Tempest into the Halloween House Robots lap! Frank hurridly drives off the tall wedge, but not without taking a blow from Michaels axe! Raging Tempest carefully dodges another charge from Gehenna and trundles back up the arena to rejoin Eurypterus and Kill Saw! The newcomers are currently in a merry dance of their own, when Raging Tempest comes crashing into Kill Saws side! The spinner is sent flying away as Gehenna arrives to check up on its ally! Kill Saw has picked up some more nasty scars, but they appear to be only superficial. As Eurypterus gives Gehenna a cheeky shunt, Liam decides to exact some revenge by chasing Raging Tempest towards the middle of the arena! The quicker of the two, Kill Saw catches the veteran as it begins revving the shell up again! One bump knocks Raging Tempest further down the arena, with Eurypterus and Gehenna hot on the duos heels! Frank barely has time to regain control of his machine when Eurypterus scoops it up and sweeps it towards the Void like a hockey puck! Raging Tempest tries to fight back, but the newcomer is simply too strong! Frank can only look on in dismay as the former AJWars champ tumbles into the Void and out of the PTT!
                          Satisfied with his little victory, Alex turns Eurypterus around as Gehenna and Kill Saw approach. Deciding Kill Saw is the weakest link, the rammer meets the wedge charges, but is intercepted by Gehenna! The veteran bumps Eurypterus and smacks its side with the rear blade, but appears to have caused little damage. It has, however, caused a distraction, as it gives Kill Saw a chance to try and slip underneath Eurypterus! Alex is not amused and backs off to charge the fellow newcomer again! This time the blow is landed and Kill Saw is pushed across the arena into the east wall once again! Gehenna catches up and plows under Eurypterus to help its friend! The flipper fires, but the invertible bot isnt bothered at all! Instead it rams the escaping Kill Saw and heads down towards the Void a second time! Gehenna tries to follow them, but proves too slow as Kill Saw joins Raging Tempest in the great abyss!

                          CEASE!

                          Raging Tempest gets washed away, while Kill Saw gets killed. Aww!

                            LEPROSY INFECTION Vs NIDHOGG EVO Vs MOBILE FAILURE Vs PROPANE NIGHTMARE

                            FROM ONEHOUSE, IN SUFFOLK, LEPROSY INFECTION!

                            Run for your lives! Leprosy is back and ready to infect any robot who gets in its way! Largely unchanged since the last war, this gruesome green machine is very similar to Tetanus Booster - an invertible box with a large spinning drum on the front. The drum is powered by an LEM-130 motor and can reach speeds of 4000rpm - bump into that and your skin will more than flake off. A new addition this year is a pair of hinged wedges either side of the drum to scoop up opponents and feed them to the sickening spinner. Leprosy has been vaccinated from such attacks itself, with 7mm titanium armour, hinged skirting and special wheel flaps on top and bottom to help shield the wheels from flippers and low spinning weapons. The wheels, however, are still rather vulnerable to axes and crushers and top speeds of 18mph may make it hard for Chris to contain the Infection.
                            IN PTT5: pitted by Dr Evil and the Crashing Bore in Round 1

                            FROM PONTEFRACT, IN YORKSHIRE, NIDHOGG EVO!
                            (Represented by Joey McConnell)
                            Named after the Nordic dragon who eats the roots of the World Tree, Nidhogg is eager to burninate anyone who dares to cross its path and live up to its success in Robot SMASH!! and last years Vapourbot Awards. This latest incarnation is a low-slung wedge with sloping sides, a rollover top and glowing LED eyes - rather like Lightning and M2s unholy lovechild. The main weapons are a pair of front spikes, a hydraulic lifting plate on the wedge, able to lift about a tonne with relative ease, and a spiny 3000psi crushing arm with fifteen tonnes of force at the very tip. Razer, eat your motors out! Nidhogg is a surprisingly nimble beast with its two Vulkalon-tyred wheels mounted in the middle for great manoueverability, while its 3.2mm Hardox shell (with a dash of polycarbonate and titanium thrown in for good measure) mean that slaying this dragon will take a lot of work. However, its roly-poly srimech could prove sluggish in practice and the 15-20mph top speeds, combined with its high manoueverability, could result in control issues. Will Nidhogg fly high or crash and burn?

                            FROM NOWHERE, IN PARTICULAR, MOBILE FAILURE!

                            Aw, dont say that, Tracy! At least wait until its had a fight first! Mobile Failure may look simplistic, but then the nastiest ones always do. A box-wedge with side-skirts, this pale purple newcomer is armed with a vicious titanium axe, operating on a rack-and-pinion mechanism ala Terrorhurtz. The axe his powered by two 2kg CO2 tanks and fed off a 210mm x 125mm pneumatic ram. If you call that a failure, Tracy, I dread to think about what youd call a success! Mobile Failure is also an accomplished rammer, with its four wheels given plenty of push by two LEM-130s running at 36v. Its certainly mobile with top speeds of 16mph and its 6mm titanium shell will stand up well to our horrible hazards. That said, its 6mm polycarbonate underbelly could take a real bruising if exposed to the elements and if the CO2 runs out, there goes its main weapon and its srimech. Will Mobile Failure pass the PTT test?

                            FROM MERTHYR TYDFIL, PROPANE NIGHTMARE!

                            Formerly known as DreamCatcher, Propane Nightmare is hoping to make all your bad dreams come true. An invertible triangular machine with blunted edges, the main weapon on this robot is the robot itself! Propane Nightmare is a three-wheeled translational spinner, meaning it can spin on the spot and trundle around in almost any direction at the same time. Its fitted with six vicious claws made from 5mm Hardox and powered by three 3120XP Husqvarna chainsaw motors geared down at 10:1, meaning the machine can spin at approximately 2400rpm. If a blow from this bot doesnt wake you up, I dont know what will! Propane Nightmares armour really is the stuff of dreams, with 4mm Hardox all over, and its superb manouverability means that few, if any, will be able to touch it. However, its invertible frame means that the wheels are exposed to overhead attacks and keeping this newcomer under control will be a Nightmare in itself!

                            House Robots - Fawkes & The Taxman

                            Roboteers, stand by...
                            3...2...1...
                            ACTIVATE!

                            Leprosy Infection gets off to a bright start, charging into Propane Nightmare and running away before Dan can even get spinning! Suitably annoyed, the newcomer begins chasing after Leprosy, just as it bumps into Mobile Failure! Tracy is naturally displeased and fires her axe, but misses Leprosy as it darts away again! Chris wasnt lying when he talked about hit-and-run tactics! Mobile Failure has barely retracted its hammer when Nidhogg Evo slithers over and slips its spikes underneath the side-skirts! With lightning-quick reactions, Tracy reverses off just as the lifting plate activates! Giving the digitized dragon a shove, Mobile Failure grapples its mighty claw with the axe and begins pushing Nidhogg across the ring! Unfortunately, Tracy cant hold her grip and Nidhogg wriggles free with relative ease. As Joey attempts to repay her in kind, a siren indicates that the Void has been activated...
                            CRRRASH!
                            And that sound indicates that Propane Nightmare has finally hit Leprosy! The PTT veteran is sent spinning by the translational spinner and barely gets a chance to breathe when in it comes again!
                            CRRRASH!
                            Something comes flying off as the two robots are thrown away from each other! Leprosys right-hand skirt, buckled from the initial attack, has been ripped clean off! Not wishing to be defrocked any further, Leprosy uses its superior speed to avoid another charge by Propane Nightmare and heads back to the centre of the ring! Here, Mobile Failure and Nidhogg remain at loggerheads, each trying to grapple the other! Taking advantage of their distraction, Leprosy slams into Mobile Failures side and begins pushing the newcomer down the arena! The drum has scuffed the axebots titanium shell, but Tracy is undeterred! Indeed her machine spins around and hammers Leprosys head in revenge! The duo engage a strange tug-of-war, fighting for control, but their contest is interrupted by the arrival of a fleeing Nidhogg and a whirling Propane Nightmare!
                            CRRRASH!
                            Propane Nightmare barges into the two locked robots and throws them apart! Mobile Failure takes a nasty blow near its front, but Leprosy is starting to look a little weary. Chris remains confident, however, and dodges another attack by Propane Nightmare before ramming into Nidhogg! Joey can hardly blink before Leprosy slips under its sides and pushes it up the arena onto the Flame Grill! The fires of the underworld sizzle Nidhoggs polycarbonate belly, but do little harm. It is a dragon, after all. As Leprosy backs off for another shunt, Nidhogg quickly gets off the grill and swings round to pay Chris out! Leprosy tries to manouever away, but Nidhogg has slipped under the skirtless side and pinned it against the north wall! As the hydraulic plate raises the veteran off the floor, Nidhoggs crushing arm is finally brought into play, slowly squeezing Leprosys titanium top! Making sure its grip is strong, Nidhogg backs off and heads towards the bottom of the arena, clutching Leprosy like a bone in a dogs mouth! Mobile Failure has been on the run from Propane Nightmare and trying to lure it into a hazard, to little avail! Tracy is thankful of a little help as Nidhogg swoops over and lowers Leprosy into Propane Nightmares path!
                            CRRRASH!
                            The two robots are flung in opposite directions! Nidhoggs wedge has taken a slight battering, but Joeys gambit seems to have paid off! Leprosy is looking worse by the second! Chris tries to drive to safety, but Mobile Failure is back on its case and hammers the veteran once again! As if things cant get worse, Propane Nightmare whirls over...
                            CRRRASH!
                            Both robots are thrown aside! This time Mobile Failure gets the brunt of the attack! One of those skirts is looking very badly buckled, but Leprosy looks tired and sluggish! As Mobile Failure begins dancing with Nidhogg again, Propane Nightmare comes in for the final blow...
                            CRRRASH!
                            Poor Leprosy is sent spinning again! Propane Nightmare backs off and waits. Save for a few involuntary twitches, there seems to be no life in those four wheels. Admitting defeat, Chris lowers his controller as the Grim Beeper creeps over to give the last rights...
                            1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!
                            As Fawkes flies in to clean up the mess, Propane Nightmare finally spins off to join the others! Mobile Failure and Nidhogg are still going at it, with Tracy landing a couple of good blows on Nidhoggs great green wedge! To their dismay, however, Propane Nightmare has arrived to join in the fun...
                            CRRRASH!
                            That particularly hard blow has sent Mobile Failure reeling! Only slightly dazed, Nidhogg seizes its chance and slides its spikes under the buckled skirt! Tracy tries to escape, but is helpless as Nidhogg pushes her machine towards Killeidascope Corner! As the dragons claw grips tighter, the psychadelic drum draws closer...
                            CRRRASH!
                            Both bots jump as Mobile Failures side takes a slashing! These big blows cant be good for the innards and it shows! As it slips out of Nidhoggs weakened grip, Mobile Failure is starting to look rather sluggish itself! Nidhogg tries to slither underneath again, but Joey thinks twice when he notices Propane Nightmare heading their way! Tracy tries to get out of harms way, but Mobile Failure isnt going anywhere fast...
                            CRRRASH!
                            The sparks fly as Mobile Failures buckled skirt is finally torn apart (Rather a pervy spinner youve put together, eh Dan?)! Propane Nightmare backs off, seemingly for another assault! Tracy again tries to drive to safety - nothing! The axe is still working, but it appears to be the only thing that is! The Grim Beeper takes his cue and and sweeps over, scythe raised high...
                            1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!
                            As the Grim Beepers blade taps her bots head, Tracy wonders how her defeat could be any more humiliating. The Taxman offers his own suggestion by smacking Mobile Failure with his great flywheel and throwing it onto its back! Tracy manages to save face by self-righting with the axe, but still gets one last shunt from Nidhogg before the final whistle!

                            CEASE!

                            Leprosy Infection has finally been cured, while Mobile Failure = epic fail!
                            NIDHOGG EVO & PROPANE NIGHTMARE GOES THROUGH TO ROUND 2!

                              I think Propane Nightmare will win the heat, here

                              One part of SOT will go after Bulldozer and the other after Tidal Wave 2. I dont think any of them pose a threat

                                TACTICS:

                                Isolation I suspect would actually be the most powerful thing in the arena with the 18v drill motors at 21.6v (Suns Of Thunder run at 12v, Tidal Wave I believe also runs at 12v with the Zeobot kit motors, and Bulldozer has 18v motors at 12v)

                                Therefore my tactics will be to mostly thwackbot spin and hope things hit me, but if I am not spinning and opponents are near, I shall attempt some pushing activities.

                                OTHER TACTICS:

                                Get underneath Eurypterus, raise it off the floor with the lifter, clamp it, and dump it down the pit. Simple, quick, efficient and reliable.
