Robot Name: Apocalypse
Shape: A Bulldog Breed-style wedge with rounded sides
Weight: 100kg
Length: 75cm
Width: 75cm
Height: 20cm
Motivation: 6 x vulcanised tyres, they are mounted on a slant like Tazbot to help manoeuvrability and are right up against the sides to take up less space
Drive: 2 x B42-500s at 48v, 60HP, powered by 8 x NiCad battlepacks
Armour: 4mm hardox all over, but 4mm aluminium on base, 5mm titanium skirts
Weaponry:
1)Rear hinged flipper, powered by 2 x 100m 1000psi non-attached rams, the flipper is pulled back down by bungee cord and can deliver approximately 2500kg of force, the wedge is angled at 30* to get right in underneath opponents and flip them high and far, the gas is stored in 2 x 2kg bottles
2)Mute style-barbs on either side of the wedge
Top Speed: 17mph
Ground Clearance: Effectively 0 at the front due to the wedge and at sides and rear due to skirts
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The flipper will bounce the robot stylishly into the air and onto its wheels
Colour: Blue with a red flipper
Strengths: Powerful flipper
Weaknesses: Weak-ish base armour
Notes: Plenty of shock-proofing
This will most probably be its last outing before the new version arrives on the scene, I just have alittle tinkering to do
Heavyweight 2
Robot Name: Kill Saw
Shape: Wedge with rounded rear so it can€™t get beached
Weight: 100kg
Length: 75cm
Width: 75cm
Height: 25cm
Motivation: 4 x internal vulcanised HDPE wheels
Drive: 2 x S28-400s at 24v, 9HP, powered by 2 x NiCad battlepacks
Armour: 3.25mm hardox
Weaponry:
1) Hidden in the wedge there are two Battlebox-style killsaws, each is spun by an S28-400 magmotor at 24v to spin at 8000rpm, and they come out of the wedge in less than half a second powered by 1 x 100mm pneumatic ram at 750psi. Remember how dangerous the killsaws were at Battlebots, well imagine them FAR more powerful and this is what you get
Top Speed: 17mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to wedge, 12mm at sides and rear is protected by 6mm grade 2 titanium torsion sprung skirts
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: Two linear actuated arms at the top of the wedge, the purple one is for righting itself to the right and the pink one to the left so that it is unpredictable to the other driver
Colour: See Image, green with some red, pink and purple
Strengths: Powerful weapon and decent pushing power
Weaknesses: High GC behind the skirts
Notes: Plenty of shock-proofing
Featherweight
Robot Name: Werewolf
Weight: 13.6kg
Shape: Lox box with interchangeable front pieces
Length: 40cm
Width: 45cm
Height: 12cm
Motivation: 6 x invertible but internal from the side wheels, the hubs are HDPE and the tyres are polyurethane rubber. They 134mm in diameter
Drive: 2 x Dewalt Power Drives @ 24v
Batteries: 2 x 12v 2400mAh NiCads in series for 24v
Armour: 3.2mm hardox
Weaponry: The robot is a good pusher and can bash opponents around with top speeds of 22mph, but in the centre there is a Bio-Hazard style lifting arm powered by a 35w Bosch linear actuator that runs for the full length of the robot. At the front of the lifter there is a 1cm titanium scoop, 5cm wide. Also at the front there are the previously mentioned interchangeable fronts:
1) An extra 5mm hardox panel just to beef it up and defend from spinners
2) A wedge angled at 42*, made of 5mm hardox
3) A wedge angled at 30*, made of 5mm hardox
4) A pair of Wedge of Doom-style scoops, but rigid and made of 5mm hardox. The robot cant run inverted with these
Speed: Can reach 22mph when I want to really slam opponents into walls or hazards, but for driving it will mostly be kept to about 15mph
Turning Circle: 0
Ground Clearance: 0 at front with setups 1,2 and 3, 7mm at sides and rear and at the front with setup 1
Srimech: Runs inverted with all setups except no.4, but the lifter can always right the robot
Colour: Polished, like Trident
Strengths: Good pusher
Weaknesses: No damaging weaponry
Right, I should note I dont consider either of these to be 100% complete. Theres no battery info, for starters but there should be enough spare weight. Without further ado:
The Crashing Bore 2
Shape: Box with a wedge on front, with a sharpened front wedge extender.
Dimensions: 80 X 40 X 25 (lwh)
GC: 2 CMs at sides and rear, 0 at front. Side and rear skirts protect the sides and rear, but can be removed to fight spinners.
Weapon 1: The trap is back as ever, powered by two LEM 130s on 36 volts. This time the idea is to snap and grip.
Weapon 2: The front wedge lifts up, powered by a linear actuator. This should lift around 200 KGs.
Weapon 3: The drill is also back, powered by the same actuator as the wedge. As the wedge lifts, the drill extends to attack the base of whatever is being lifted. The drill is sprung with 50 KGs of downforce, so anything the drill cannot penetrate easily will push it down the shaft and still allow the wedge to lift. However, the drill will still push into the opponent with a force of 50 KGs.
Armour: A 3.2 mm hardox monocoque, except for the front wedge which is 8 mm hardox. The skirts are 5 mm grade 5 Ti.
Drive: Four wheel drive, powered by two LEM 130s on 36 volts
Srimech: The trap
Notes: Painted to look like it€™s a red robot with a fine layer of dust
Raging Tempest
Shape: Ring spinner.
Speed: 12 MPH.
Dimensions(dh): 80CM X 25 CM
GC: 1 CM.
Armour: The spinning ring is 4 MM of Hardox 500. The base and top are 5 mm of polycarb. There is a 1 CM Ti box section frame, with weight reducing holes.
Weapon: Ring spinner powered by two Lem 130s at 36 volts and spinning at 1500 RPM to deliver around 70 KJs per hit. The four hardox teeth are 6 inches long with two being placed near the top and two near the bottom.
Weapon 2: Two foot long blades can be attached to the bottom of the machine and skim 5 mm above the floor, with the idea being to sneak under GCs and attack wheels. This is only used as an anti-Tengu measure.
Drive: 2 wheeled, driven by S28-400 magmotors at 24 volts.
Srimech: Invertible.
Notes: Has an absolute buttload of shock proofing inside. Everything is firmly bolted down, with layers of rubber between everything. Added to that, the teeth have a backwards curving shape which maximises the distance it will throw itself away from the opponent. The reason is twofold. First is to make ramming and flipping it difficult, but the main reason is to bleed away kinetic energy backlash, by using that backlash to move the robot externally rather than internally. The shockproofing is mostly there to stop it shock killing itself upon landing.
