Some simple sketches should suffice if you can't get CAD.
As you finalise your ideas, drawing your design in something like isometric after having done various projections can produce something pretty good and easier to edit (an eraser and redraw the part.)
I never try anything in Pro/Desktop (the CAD I use) without having it working firstly in my head and then on paper; if I need maths as well, mathematically and if it's a linkage or mechanism etc, in lego or on incredibots.
In a nutshell, my advice, stick to pencil and paper.
Lucky me!!! I have a new revision of ARC Welder!!!
ARC Solder
Weight: 100kg
Shape: A basic box on wheels with a scoop at the front.
Colour: The bluish colour of a blowtorch's hot flame, with the name written on the sides in chrome.
Dimensions: 80cm x 70cm x 20cm
Drive: 4 36v PERM 80 motors, powered by 6x NiCad Battlepacks
Locomotion: 4 Go-kart wheels using customized magnesium hubs.
Armour: 3.5mm Hardox
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to scoop, and 5mm at sides and back.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: There is a slot running down the middle of the scoop, which, like the original Minesweeper's scoop, can move slightly vertical so I get 0m ground clearance regardless of how the robot is flipped. In the slot is a 5kg hardox 3 pronged UltraViolence-style spinning blade, powered by a 36v PERM 80 motor at 5000rpm. The tips are diamond-edged, and the blade should put out at least 75kj.
Srimech: Invertible
Strength: Excellent pushing power and deadly weapon.
Weakness: Exposed sides and rear.
Bio: A revision of a crap bot; once again, the robot is totally shockproofed, however it finally has a weapon and can finally do some pushing. As for whether it can still survive MDU4.1: We'll see...
And now that I think about it, I need to update some more of my squad...
Return of the Prayer Shawl (Formerly Tallit)
Weight: 110kg
Shape: A basic unrefined wedge, ala Mastiff.
Colour: White with thin gold and blue stripes.
Dimensions: 100cm x 80cm x 30cm
Drive: 2 48v LEM-130 motors, powered by 6x NiCad Battlepacks.
Locomotion: A pair of 90cm x 4cm x 15cm rubber tank tracks.
Armour: 4mm hardox
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front, and at sides and back due to 4mm titanium skirts. 8mm without skirts.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: This time, the weapon is a powerful front-hinged flipper, powered by a 140psi 2.5kg Co2 Tank connected to a 50mm bore 110mm stroke ram. The flipper should be able to roll over up to 300kg, and has an average of 25 flips.
Srimech: The flipper
Strength: Low and powerful.
Weakness: Can be stranded on its sides, however it can't be stranded on its back because the back panel is very small.
Bio: After the original Tallit had its flaws exposed, I developed this modified variant with a pneumatic weapon, weaker motors, and more flexible armour. It also has had its shuffling feet replaced with tracks.
Me Name is Revenge (Formerly Me Name is Death)
Weight: 100kg
Shape: A low rounded wedge shape ala Firestorm.
Colour: Chrome, with ME NAME IS REVENGE written on the flipper.
Dimensions: 70cm x 60cm x 20cm
Drive: 2x 60v B42-500 Magmotors, powered by 7x NiCad Battlepacks
Locomotion: 2 solid steel wheels with rubber tyres and magnesium hubs.
Armour: 3.25mm hardox
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front, 5mm at sides, and 10mm at the rear.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: The weapon, as always, is a front-hinged flipper, however it's now powered by a 2kg Co2 tank at 750psi. Finally, the robot has a serious weapon, as it can flip 500kg and tip over 1000kg. It has about 20-30 flips, give or take the weight of the enemy.
Srimech: The flipper.
Strength: A powerful flipper.
Weakness: High ground clearance at the back.
Bio: Me Name is Death returns with a revised Spanikophobia-style shape with the original flipper, now revised to use high-pressure Co2. The robot also has some excellent pushing power with its big 60v motors.
Right, I feel like I should join in and create a vapourbot...
Gross Surgical Malpractice
Weight: 100kg
Shape: T shaped undercutter, similar to Totally Offensive / Relic. You can see a photo of Totally Offensive here: http://www.madoverlord.com/lg/DSC041/DSC04135.jpg
Colour: Bare titanium.
Dimensions: 110cm(60cm long main body)x80cm(rear spar)x15cm at its highest.
Drive: 2 S28-150 Magmotors powered by a shock mounted (batteries linked by flexible thick copper braid, and each battery pressed into a hole in a block of thermally conducting rubber similar to a flexible potting compound) 24v pack of A123 lithium cells, geared down through a couple of Team Whyachi drive gearboxes. The Magmotors have custom machined inserts designed to stop the magnets becoming displaced. All electronics are shock mounted as best as possible, isolated using rubber and their components potted to avoid impacts removing them from the PCBs.
Locomotion: Two 5 inch Colson wheels, driven from the gearboxes with the axles supported both sides by bearings.
Armour: 12.7mm 6AL-4V welded main body with 19.05mm bulkheads, 4.8mm top plate, 6mm wall thickness on the rear tube spar.
Speed: 12mph
Ground Clearance: 5mm under the undercutting blade, 20mm+ elsewhere.
Turning Circle: Zero
Weapon: 1m long, 10cm wide, 3cm thick 25kg Hardox bar with S7 tool steel teeth. This is spun by a 50hp Aixro XR50 294cc rotary kart engine at a 4:1 reduction, resulting in a top speed of 2700rpm and up to 300kJ of kinetic energy with the perimeter weighted teeth. The motor is electrically started by remote control and has undergone considerable weight reduction surgery.
Srimech: UHMWPE self righting hoop
Strength: Excessively powerful weapon.
Weakness: Very exposed to the rear. All the driving that's required is to keep it pointed at the other robot, though

I quickly plugged your spinning disc's stats into the team cosmos ke calculator using really long teeth so the weapon looks sort of like a three bladed windmill (as close as I can quickly get to an ultraviolence disc in the calculator.)
The parameters I used were (these directly correspond to the ones in the calculator):
Teeth:
Width 3
Height 4 (approx so you're invertible)
Length 4 (Width and length can be anything as long as the mass sums to ~40lb when you click calculate
Distance 2
No of teeth 3
Material steel (about the same density as hardox after a quick search of the forum)
Disc:
Material Steel
Thickness same as length of teeth (4 in this example)
Diameter 2
This disc weighs just over 20kg in total and at 4000 rpm still only produces about 6.5kJ of energy.
I would suggest you redesign the disc and use the calculator
( http://www.teamcosmos.com/ke/ke.shtml ) to check your KE figures before posting the updated design.
Might I enquire where your energy figures come from Mark ?
Right... here goes for ludicrousness in the field of spinning stuff round really fast...

And another one as somehow I am meant to have two according to some people - not to mention, someone needs to show Mark what a real vertical disc is
Vertical Limit
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Vertical spinner - a wide wedge-shaped body with two large support bulkheads extending upwards either side of the centrally located disc, with front titanium fork skids extending from these bulkheads to get underneath opposing robots (by concentrating the pressure exerted by the robot's weight) and transfer the recoil from the disc impacts to the ground.
Colour: Bare titanium and carbon fibre, with a mountainous landscape anodised into the front wedge.
Dimensions: 35cm(h)x90cm(w)x45cm(l).
Locomotion: Two 6 inch Colson wheels, driven by chain drive from the gearboxes with the axles supported both sides by bearings.
Armour: 6AL-4V titanium front wedge cover 4.8mm thick, 60mm (pocketed) 7075-T6 aluminium main weapon support bulkheads. Carbon fibre/kevlar composite top, side, and rear armour. Two bolted in 6AL-4V titanium front forks, with 30mm wide ends, which direct opponents into the disc and transfer the recoil to the ground.
Speed: 15mph
Ground Clearance: 0 at the front, up to 10mm at the rear.
Turning Circle: Zero
Weapon: Tiernay TT-10 125hp turboshaft engine powering a 20kg 300mm diameter, 50mm thick hardox vertical spinning disc with a single S7 tool steel tooth. The disc is driven by a belt-based CVT (continuously variable transmission), assuming 80% efficiency and the engine running at the peak of its powerband kinetic energy is transferred into the disc at the rate of 73.6kJ/sec - let's say up to a peak spin speed of 8500rpm, with a KE of 375kJ which is reached in ~5 seconds whereupon the spinup rate rapidly drops off.
To give people who chuck insane spinner kinetic energy values about some kind of idea what they mean - if a quarter of the energy of that disc was imparted to an opposing 100kg heavyweight in a vertical direction, it would chuck them 95 metres into the air.
Self-righter: Bouncing about on the disc, in addition to a self-righting arm powered by a powerful brushless inrunner motor and reduction gearbox running as a glorified servo.
Strength: The most powerful vertical spinner ever.
Weakness: Rear attacks, potential structural damage caused by weapon impacts.
Right, that should just about do for stupidity and impracticality... I think I won't post in this forum for a bit.
1-Hit Wonder
Weight: 200kg
Shape: Pretty much the same as Kody Kunz's The Epidemic: A flat disc with rounded top and bottom edges.
Colour: Chrome, with the name written in red on the top and bottom of the robot.
Dimensions: 100cm x 100cm x 30cm
Drive: A Vivoil pump at 3000psi, powered by a 9hp 300cc petrol engine. The engine is partially covered with aluminum foil to prevent it from easily catching on fire.
Locomotion: A walking system, utilizing a system of hydraulic actuators controlling 16 legs(8 on each side. On each side 4 legs are pointed up, and 4 are pointed down.), powered by the Vivoil pump. The system makes the robot invertible.
Armour: 15mm hardox for the rim, and 4mm hardox for the top and bottom.
Speed: 3mph
Ground Clearance: 5mm all around, even if inverted.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapon: A devious and powerful 70kg horizontal spinning rim ala Mass Disctruction Ultimate, Crankshafted, King Cholera, etc. The rim has 4 2.5kg hardox teeth to rip into opponents. The rim itself is powered by a Tiernay TT-10 125hp turboshaft engine utilizing a direct mounting system, allowing it to go up to 8000rpm.
At 1500rpm(Which the robot can reach in 0.5 seconds), the robot puts out around 125kj. At 3000rpm(Which is reached in 2 seconds), the robot puts out around 225kj. At 5000rpm(Which is reached in 3.5 seconds), the robot puts out around 375kj. At 8000rpm(full speed, can be reached in about 6.5 seconds) the robot puts out around (gulps)525kj...
If need be, since it's very unlikely that the robot will reach 8000rpm, the robot has a speed reducer to cap its max speed to 5000rpm to prevent it from killing itself.
Srimech: Invertible
Strength: Read the name.
Weakness: A collision with either MDU1, Crankshafted, King Cholera, Absolution, or any other powerful horizontal ring or full-body spinner.
Bio: The first ever Team Corsair bot that could actually kill something, and my version of a particularly powerful FBS. The robot has all of its components shockproofed with urethane rubber so it won't kill itself.
If you're going to directly rip off the gas turbine engine from my design (it's an aircraft APU unit weighing approximately 17kg), do it properly
A direct drive off a gas turbine won't be any good as the turbine's powerband will be pretty much at the peak rpm of your weapon - i.e. it won't be making much power when you're getting it running initially. Also, the shock of suddenly loading down the engine when you clutch it to the weapon will probably cause a compressor stall and wreck it.
Also, your spinup times you've stated are faster than mine - except you aren't running the engine at its maximum output for most of the duration of the spin-up, so you're clearly being ambitious there. :P
