Havent forgotten about this, just had other things to do that couldnt be left.

To get this tourn back on track, I wont be doing heat intros. Sorry if this annoys people, but I was aiming to get this tourn finished by September.

    HEAT E: ROUND ONE

Tornado b(1) VS SawPoint 2 VS Devastator VS Ewe 2

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWRlYdsU3Fwhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWRlYdsU3Fw
    ----------------------------------------------------

Barberous 2 €˜n€™ a bit VS Tetanus Booster VS Axe-O-Lotl VS Thunderpants (failed to enter arena)

Booth One: Chris Mason and Paul Snook (Tetanus Booster)
Booth Two: Simon Rafftery (Barberous 2 n a bit)

House Robots: Growler and Mr Psycho.

    3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

The spinning drums of Tetanus Booster and Barberous whirr devilishly, the teeth on each drum a mere blur. Axe-O-Lotl does its best to avoid the spinning drums of its adversaries, dodging Tetanus Boosters drum and slamming the axe right onto the bodywork, denting the armouring and leaving Paul Snook furious! Chris may be pleased that his first strike made contact, but he seems to have forgotten that this is a melee, allowing Simon Rafferty and his Barberous machine to slam into the side of Axe-O-Lotl! The Hardox armouring of Axe-O-Lotl manages to withstand the thunderous impact, but Axe-O-Lotl itself seems dazed, the axe weaponry firing out randomly and looking unable to go back innto the machine. Paul Snook drives Tetanus Booster away from the battle in the middle of the arena - narrowly avoiding Growlers CPZ in the process - and slams into the pit release button, the whirring siren defeaning the arena as the pit descends towards hell. Barberous backs away from Axe-O-Lotl, which has managed to get the axe back into the main body and away from unnecessary damage, and goes in on another slam, hoping to damage the 3.25mm Hardox armouring of the axed machine. However, Chris Mason manages to steer Axe-O-Lotl away from the drum of Barberous, but drives straight into the drum of Tetanus Booster. Luckily for Chris, and unluckily for Paul Snook, Axe-O-Lotls shape causes Tetanus Booster to drive straight up the front of the axed robot, allowing Chris to fire the axe - creating another pretty dent onn Tetanus Boosters bodywork - and clamp it, stopping it from running away. Barberous sees that Tetanus is in trouble and, in a sudden alliance with the other RW veteran, slams into the Hardox armouring of Axe-O-Lotl again, the teeth on the drum sending both Chris Masons and Paul Snooks machines over and onto their side - Tetanus Booster still in Axe-O-Lotls grasp and unable to roll over onto its wheels. Axe-O-Lotl releases its axe in order to self right, allowing Tetanus Booster to quickly scurry away and get the drum spinning up once again. Before Axe-O-Lotl can self right, Simon Rafferty drives the deadly spinning drum once again into Axe-O-Lotl, the Hardox armouring gaining a few superficial scratches, but nothing more on the surface. Underneath the surface, however, something is obviously wrong... Axe-O-Lotl seems statuesque, the axe which was meant to self right the machine worringly still.

    CEASE!

    Axe-O-Lotl has been axed!

Barberous 2 n a bit and Tetanus Booster go through to round 2!
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    HEAT E: ROUND TWO

Tornado (1) VS Barberous 2 n a bit - I reckon this fight would be very one sided. The drum of Barberous would not be able to do severe damage to Tornados front wedge, the latters superb manouevrability and speed coming into play in this fight. Tornado goes through via pitting.

        Newsflash!

As you have seen, I have not posted a battle in this for quite a while. The main reason is because others on the forum have made vapourboteering, well, not fun. Every time I have looked in the FanFic section, somewhere amongst the posts there is an argument, or someone moaning, or a huge debate going on about things that are, in my opinion, trivial.

These disgareements, heated arguments and general n00bish behaviour are making what was originally a happy, fun hobby into a place I have actually started to avoid. If you look through the posts in which these arguments have taken place, you will see I have hardly ever posted or been involved in them, and there is a reason for that.

I cannot be bothered! I am not an argumentative person, so I do not wish to be involved in these arguments.

Why, all of a sudden, do all our designs have to be scrutinised to such a degree that everyones designs are picked at until every single kg is accounted for? I do not see the harm in letting machines that may be slightly overweight into competitions. Shouldnt we allow some margin of error in our designs?

But on the other hand, surely we as vapourboteers make a conscious effort to be supporting to each other and help those who may need help? Its understandable that we aim to have the best designs and win lots of fights, but at the end of the day, its only a bit of fun! The world does not revolve around whether Dervish beats Seung Mina, or if Aaron makes it past round one.

As someone who has been involved with vapourboteering for a long time (not as long as others here, but I am still techncially an oldie), I have seen the forum change from a place I enjoy to a place I avoid.

This is not me announcing my retirement, but me voicing my opinion on matters. I ask that no one posts in this thread after this post, but thinks about their involvement in the forum. What would they prefer, friendly competition or constant arguing? I think the answer is pretty clear.

Thank you for reading. I will try and get this tournament back on track within the next fortnight.

              HEAT F: ROUND ONE

X-Terminator (10) VS Apocalypse VS Tsunami VS Diabolus

House Robots - Sir Killalot and Dead Metal.

              3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

All 4 machines move off from their starting positions - Diabolus albeit slower than the others - and collide in the middle of the arena. The disc of X-Terminator, the 10th seed, whirring manically as it crashes into the machine from Cardiff, knocking it slightly upwards but not causing any cosmetic damage to the 4mm Hardox armouring. Tsunami gets into the mix, attacking the slowly approaching Diabolus and flipping it over, but doing nothing to the invertible machine. The German Tsunami slides the flipping plate underneath the ground clearance of Diabolus, drives towards the are arena side wall and flips, sending Diabolus up into the air... but crashing back down behind its attacker! Meanwhile, on the other side of the arena, the machine from Hereford has been tenacious and relentless against Apocalypse, the Hardox armour not breaking but certainly being buckled and looser as the fight goes on. But heres a chance for Liam and Team Welsh Warlords, as the flipper gets underneath the front scoop of X-Terminator and flips it itno the air! The 10th seed looks like an Olympic gymnast as it somersaults and twists into the air. It crashes onto the arena floor on its side - it didnt nail that landing - , before Marlon Pritchard quickly self rights the machine using the pneumatic srimech spikes. Tsunami, obviously bored of playing with with Diabolus - who doesnt appear to be moving in any direction after that fearsome flip from the German bot - quickly attempts to dart underneath the self righting X-Terminator, but mistimes the attack and gets a faceful of spinning disc, the front flipper getting a delicious looking scar in the Titanium armouring. Refbot looks worryingly (can he look worrying?? meh...) at Diabolus, who seems motionless, before counting it out. Sir Killalot is itching to get out of his CPZ and cause some damage, and darts out just as the timer on Refbots clock reaches the magic 10! Diabolus is now at the mercy of the House Robots, Sir Killalot plucking him up into the air and parading his motionless carcass to the audience, who cheer wildly. But are they cheering for Sir K? No! X-Terminator has been flipped once again, the kinetic disc eating into the arena floor in the process! It was on the receiving end of a double team, the two flippers of Apocalypse and Tsunami joining forces to dispose of the 10th seed! X-Terminator self rights, but falls straight back onto the flipper of Apocalypse. The Welsh Wonder sends X-Terminator into the air again, this time Marlon Pritchards machine executing the perfect landing and drives off quickly in order for the spinning disc to get up to speed once again. Tsunami slams into the pit release button, but not before Apocalypse catches up with X-Terminator, hoping to flip it once more. However, the 0m turning circle on X-Terminator allows it to dodge the attack and thwack Apocalypse on the side with the disc, completely dislodging the Hardox armouring and exposing the juicy innards! Liam looks worried and backs off, just before X-Terminator comes in on the charge again, the machine from Hereford sensing a weakness as emerged in Apocalypse. However, he has forgotten the small matter of Tsunami, who slides right underneath the front scoop, and flips X-Terminator straight onto its back, the disc cutting grooves into the arena floor before coming to a stand-still. The audience cheer and whoop as Marlon Pritchard tries deperately to get X-Terminator self righted, but to no avail. The 10th seed bomb out in round 1!!

Diabolus was diabolical (Thanks Joey! ) and X-Terminator exterminated, but claiming he will be back. Yeah, guess again!

I think the heat final will see the reunion of the qualifiers from the first melee.

                    Nice fight there Dan

And Im really glad to have gotten rid of X-Terminator

                    Tactics:

Shouldnt be too much of a problem, just avoid the front flipper (even though I may get under it) and keep flipping and pushing it around, go for an OOTA or pitting. And I guess Im facing Tsunami in the final if I win this next bout, so if I get past Killer Carrot just go for the same tactics against Tsunami

                      Killer Carrot 2 VS Apocalypse

House Robots - Mr Psycho and Matilda

                      3...2...1...ACTIVATE!

And it is the machine from the depths of Wales that gets off the mark quickest, using the six-wheel-drive well to gain traction on the arena floor as it darts towards the bright orange Killer Carrot 2. The sleek wedge shape of Apocalypse easily sliding underneath the front flipper of KC2, which has seen great improvements due to a Hassocks Hog spreadsheet, and snags the machine from West Sussex on the barbs. Apocalypse fires its flipper and the carrot is sent airborne! A flying carrot? Its genetically modified food gone mad! Luckily for the Englebright family, and not so luckily for Liam Eliot, Killer Carrot 2 crashes onto the arena floor, swiftly self righting before using its two-wheel-drive to dart away from another onslaught from Apocalypse. The Welsh wonder gives chase, stalking KC2 like a predator hoping to catch its prey, but the speed of KC2 proves telling, as the orange flipping machine speeds away from danger once again, this time slamming straight into the pit release button. The pit descends, and poor driving from Rob Englebright almost sees KC2 fall into the pit in some kind of weird kamikaze movement. It narrowly avoids plummeting into the pit, but ends up getting a face full of disc as it drives carelessly into Matildas CPZ. Killer Carrot 2 is getting julienned (its when you cut veggies into batons, God bless Gordon Ramsey ) as the aluminium armour proves as useful as an inflatible dartboard. Apocalypse drives carefully towards the action, and gets the flipper underneath... Matilda? A swift flip sends our gorgeous Tildy on her back, much to the enjoyment of the audience, who whoop and cheer, pounding the plexiglass wall in admiration. However, this show-boating from Liam Eliot allows KC2 go get its flipper underneath the side of Apocalypse and attempts a flip. The pneumatics strain, but eventually turn Apocalypse over, leaving the machine dangerously near the arena side wall. The flipper fires on Apocalypse as it self rights in superb style, cartwheeling through the air and onto its wheels once again. KC2 comes in on the attack again, but fails to get unerneath its opponent, Apocalypse getting the upper hand on this one. Liam uses the barbs on the front of Apocalypse to hold KC2 as it uses its six-wheel-drive to edge nearer to the open pit. Killer Carrot 2 tries to gain some form of traction on the front flipper of Apocalypse, but Team Englebright can only look on in horror as their carrotty machine is dumped into the pit!

Killer Carrot 2 obviously not a 24 carat machine!
Apocalypse goes through to the Heat Final.

Its that time again, two machines battlign it out for the chance to get into the Vapourbot Vengeance Semi Finals. The winner, triumphant will lead a parade through the streets of its home town, the celebrity status awaiting them, a Fembot (please dont sue me, Mike Myers!) on each arm and a guaranteed spot in Dictionary Corner. The loser, well, they are thrown onto the scrapheap and the only television appearance they will be making is a cameo appearance in a Cillit Bang commercial. But before we discover who our rising star is - lets see how they got this far...

In round one, both Tsunami and Apocalypse fought well to fend off the attacks from the 10th seed, X-Terminator, the disc causing some problems, but the lack of a reliable srimech meant they were turned turtle and out of the competition. The other machine in that battle was Diabolus who failed to make a true impact, was counted out by Refbot and fed to the hungry Sir Killalot.
The other melee saw the experienced robots of Fluffy and Killer Carrot 2 against newbies Constrictor and Scarey-Go-Round, the latter proving as scary as a butterfly as Fluffy tore into it, destroying the armouring and rendering it immobile. Then, a shock, as Fluffy, the robot truly dominating the melee began to smoke, a blown motor rendering them immobile, leaving Constrictor and Killer Carrot 2 through.

In round 2 Apocalypse chopped the carrot down to size, as Killer Carrot 2 was flipped again and again and again, before being dumped unceremoniously into the pit.
In the other battle, Tsunami did the same to Constrictor, flipping it OOTA and out of the competition. The machine from Germany looking strong.

                                HEAT F: HEAT FINAL

                                Tsunami VS Apocalypse

House Robots - Sgt Bash and Shunt.

                                3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!

The audience are really psyched up for this bout, both these flipping machines are really strong, cruising their way through this heat like Usain Bolt on a running track. Both machines collide in the centre of the arena, the flipping plates desperately tryign to get underneath each other, but failing. Liam Eliot, the driver of Apocalypse backs off and tries again, but it is Tsunami that gets the first hit in, sliding underneath Apocalypse. Apocalypse gets the six-wheel-drive into play and quickly reverses off, but not before Tsunamis flipper sends it somersalting backwards, doing a complete 360 degree spin in mid air before landing back on its wheels. The machine from Cardiff, in Wales, charges towards the German fighting machine, and this time drives straight under Tsunami, the barbs on Apocalypse holding its prey in place. Apocalypse charges towards the arena wall as the audience holds its breath - they know whats about to happen! Apocalypse fires it flipper just as it gets to the arena wall. Tsunami is sent rocketing into the air, spiralling and spinning as it lands on the camera track, out of the arena, the hopes of dreams of Tsunami gone in a matter of minutes! Apocalypse celebrates, firign its flipper and spinning on the spot madly, like a crazy carousel!

Tsunami turns out to be a right washout!
Apocalypse goes through to the Series Semi Finals!!
