Robot SMASH!! Series 2: Recharged!
Sorry theses fights are so short, but you can hardly blame me with these line-ups
Welcome back to Robot SMASH!! , where Heat D is about to start! The story of this series so far has seen the number #1 seed Wedge Devolution prevail in Heat A, the number #3 seed Supreme Glory Omega get the glory in Heat B and the unseeded Cyclone Force 3 won Heat C after Turbo Shredder defeated the number #5 seed Storm II.
Here€™s the round 1 line-up.
Macduff the 3rd v Orka MK.4 v Stealth
Whirligig 4.5 (7) v Eternia v Nightmare
Eliminator 1
Created and entered by Kody Kunz, Macduff the 3rd!
Like Knyfe and Cyclone Force 3 seen in the previous heats this robot can select from a choice of weaponry, and is a powerful rammer. It€™s more powerful than Cyclone Force 3, and equal to that of Knyfe, and for this match Kody has chosen to use the lifting spikes that can work both ways up.
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Created and entered by Christopher Mason, Orka MK.4!
This very interesting concept is a Behemoth-shape robot with a scoop, but instead of an axe Orka uses a Mantis-style claw to grapples opponents. When lifted and grabbed robots will find it hard to escape, and the six wheel drive helps to shove robots around the arena as well.
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Built by Team Stealth, entered by Joey McConnell, Stealth!
This is a robot seen in the third series of robot wars. It has a front flipper and a rear circular saw, but in the wars it was shredded by Hypno-Disc early on and the flipper did nothing against Death Warmed Up in round 1.
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Roboteers, standby!
Booth 1: Kody Kunz, Christopher Mason
Booth 2: Joey McConnell

SMASH!!
The fourth heat of Robot SMASH!! 2 gets underway- gosh, doesn€™t time fly when you€™re having fun? And Kody looks to be having fun in this bout, ramming Stealth from the side and lifting it with the spikes! Joey spins the saw and activates the flipper, but cannot escape and Macduff continues to push him around, dumping him on the Killsaws! BZZT! Stealth is thrown sideways onto Orka, who clamps it and lifts Joey into the air while Kody presses the pit release button! The siren wails and Orka drops Stealth into the pit after just 11 seconds of the match has passed!
CEASE!
The shortest fight of the series so far, lasting just over 10 seconds! Macduff the 3rd and Orka MK.4, they go through to round 2!
We now go to the pits, where Joey is hoisting Stealth into the skip.
Me: Did that go as well as you expected?
Joey: Much better, I expected to last 5 seconds with this crummy realie.
Me: We€™ll have your vapour debut in the next heat anyway though.
Joey: Yeah, hopefully I€™ll do better then.
Eliminator 2
Created and entered by Steven McGregor, the number #7 seed, Whirligig 4.5!
Last year this robot was extremely impressive, destroying a load of tough opponents to get to the finals. It€™s one of the most powerful (not to mention successful) vapour FBS€™ ever, dishing out 183Kj per hit and causing maximum damage with those 9 pussycat style teeth on the ring, which spins at 1500rpm.
In RS!!1: Destroyed With or Without You in the eliminator, then sent Tira III packing in round 2. The heat final looked like it would be tough, with The May Tracks Has You sporting those spikes to damage the feet, but Steven knocked out the link and it was bye bye to May Tracks as Whirligig went whirling on to the finals, where it all went downhill. Whirly was thrown out of the competition by ISDSFA, and in the play-off was the first robot to be eliminated when Seung Mina IV wanted her revenge.
Created and entered by Leo Van Miert, Eternia!
This powerful flipper really packs a punch, with power similar to that of Gravity in Robot Wars series 7. But the question is whether Eternia will enjoy eternal success or will the low pushing power mean an eternity of loss?
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Built by a guy called Jim and the rest of the team, entered by Samuel Park, Nightmare!
This huge vertical spinner is a veteran of Battlebots, and despite being an excellent competitor and almost always doing well it never made it passed the quarter-finals, partly due to it being so unstable and having exposed wheels, a weakness exploited by Warhead in season 5.0.

SMASH!!
Nightmare and Whirly are quick to start spinning up, and Eternia looks quite happy to stay out of the way for the time being while the two spinners size each other up. Whirly starts coming towards Nightmare, but Samuel has a change of heart and turns around to hit Eternia, throwing Leo up and over onto his back! Leo is startled, but quickly self-rights and rams Nightmare and throws Samuel high into the air, but Nightmare lands on its wheels, one of which is quickly detached by Whirligig! That was unexpected and Nightmare will surely not be happy about that! And for extra revenge Eternia comes in on the wheel-less side and throws Nightmare up and over onto its back! Steven grins maniacally and moves in again, tearing a large chunk out of Nightmare and sending it flying, and Samuel lands right up against the arena wall, still upside down! Samuel€™s disc wasn€™t spinning when Nightmare was thrown, and now it can€™t spin so Eternia goes in again and finishes the job by launching Nightmare clear of the arena and onto the camera tracks!
CEASE!
Another quick battle, that one lasting just 18 seconds!
I€™m here in the pits now with Samuel!
Me: Nightmare started well, but it turned into a bit of a nightmare for you, didn€™t it?
Sam: Yeah, once the wheel was gone I was open to attack from Eternia, who I attacked at the beginning.
Me: The disc didn€™t really cause much damage to Eternia, why was that?
Sam: I didn€™t really get it a very good angle, only a good enough hit to flip it.
Me: Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, now let€™s see the round 2 draw!
Macduff the 3rd v Eternia
Whirligig 4.5 (7) v Orka MK.4
We€™ll be back right after the break, hope fully with battles that will last a little longer!
