Mayhem 1
No Objections v Achilles v Nitro-Gene 4.0

In the red square€¦. No Objections! This robot is already an old hand at annihilators, having won a hypothetical of the C&B extreme annihilator and finished runner-up in the more recent EOTR annihilator. It€™s a dome shaped robot with a 1.2cm hardox ring around it, so when it spins you€™d better watch out! Acting as a srimech and an offensive weapon is the electric lifter on top, with forks on the end of the arm.

In the blue square€¦ Achilles! This entrant chooses between a hydraulic system and a pneumatic system for its main weapon- a flipper. This robot boasts plenty of titles, including PTT5 among its triumphs. But its armour is worryingly thin, at just 4mm titanium on the sides. Could this be Alex Holt€™s downfall, or will the other robots meet their Achilles heel?

In the green square€¦ Nitro-Gene 4.0! Another flipper, albeit this one is nitrogen powered with 1600kg of force at the flipper. It€™s also a fantastic rammer, and the fastest robot of these three, but will that help Paul Cuomo€™s creation or hinder it? Nitro-Gene has just emerged from the awards ceremony of my Mini-Tournament, in which it took the gold medal after defeating Dr. Acula in the final.

ACTIVATE!

The macrolon fences retract into the ground for the very first time and the three competitors get off to a very quick start, the opening battle of ETC extreme looks to be exciting if they€™re all going to be aggressive as Nitro-Gene is now, ploughing into the side of Achilles and pushing Alex into No Objections, who hadn€™t got up to top speed. Because of this Achilles escapes, and gets underneath No Objections before throwing Joey up and over with that powerful pneumatic flipper! No Objections starts self-righting, and is falling onto its wheels when in comes Nitro-Gene 4.0!
CRASH!
No Objections is sent reeling across the arena floor, and in comes Achilles behind Nitro-Gene, easily getting underneath the rear end and throwing it onto the arena wall! Luckily for Paul Nitro-Gene was stacked upside down and now uses the flipper to get off the wall, but meanwhile No Objections comes out of nowhere and lifts Achilles up and over! Alex quickly self-rights, but in comes Nitro-Gene and sends him sky-high! And by now No Objections has spun up, so Paul tries to push Achilles into Joey, but he came into the wedge and now finds himself doing back flips again as Achilles flips him away! Behind Achilles No Objections is spinning away, and now Achilles simply leaves Joey to spin as he pursues Paul across the arena, where he is preparing Nitro-Gene for another onslaught on Achilles! And this time Paul is spot on as he and Alex meet flipper to flipper and Paul rams Achilles back into Joey!
CRASH!
Achilles is spun away, but the damage seems surprisingly minimal, and now Alex is back on the attack quickly, once again throwing No Objections onto its head! And before Joey can self-right in comes Nitro-Gene, ramming No Objections into the pit release button!
CRASH!
The siren wails, and No Objections is now stuck between a rock and a hard place- the rock being Nitro-Gene 4.0€™s powerful flipper, which happens to be sneaking underneath No Objections!
Paul fires the flipper and No Objections flies up onto the rails, and then falls back onto Nitro-Gene, which flips it again! And No Objections can€™t object as it flies over the barrier and crashes onto the camera tracks! Paul quickly reverses way from the wall and turns to meet Achilles, who looks like malevolent! Paul puts the pedal to the medal as Alex decides enough is enough and the two robots head towards each other at top speed!
CRASH!
Nitro-Gene has more power, and so Achilles is knocked backwards the most, but Paul was in front of the pit and Nitro-Gene suddenly finds itself in a deadly dance of death, one of its rear wheels over the corner of the pit! With the three wheels on the ground Paul pulls Nitro-Gene away, but in comes Achilles and flips Nitro-Gene onto its back! Paul performs the 540 degree flip, and lands with his two front wheels over the chasm! And this time Achilles is there and gives Nitro-Gene the nudge that will end the round!

CEASE!

No Objections can€™t object to that defeat and Nitro-Gene 4.0 must make room for Nitro-Gene 5.0 as Achilles marches on to the annihilator!

The Botles Reunited v Seung Mina IV v Secret

In the red and yellow squares... THE BOTLES REUNITED! This 4-way clusterbot returns after it€™s close defeat by fellow clusterbot Weapon Synergy in Robot SMASH!!. We have John and Paul in the red square while Ringo and George reside in the yellow square. Will the fearsome four get knocked out again, or will 4 minis prove better than 1 biggy?

In the blue square... SEUNG MINA IV! Seung Mina III was the winner of ETC08, so her predecessor is most welcome in any ETC event. Will this powerful flipper go on to the annihilator or get annihilated in the mayhem?

In the green square... SECRET! Chezza€™s powerful spinner has a large disc and is in invertible, but it€™s high spin up time for that potent weaponry could mean Secret never unleashes the truth about that ultra spinner.

ACTIVATE!

The macrolon fences go down into the floor once more and the 4 competitors shoot off the mark, the two Botle pairs separating and each lining up for different attacks. But it€™s Seung Mina who looks the more dangerous and immediately squares up to Paul McHurtney, slipping the flipper in underneath the 25kg cluster! Steven fires the cleverly concealed spike, but it does nothing to Mina€™s armour and Paul suddenly wishes he was back in the court room with Heather as he stays momentarily suspended in mid air before he comes hurtling back to earth and crashes onto the camera tracks with a large THUMP! One bottle down, and with the 50% rule in place only one more of the remaining three has to bite the dust before Steven€™s musical megastars are out of the mayhem! Mina starts chasing George, and in the background the crowd has noticed Secret, who is staying in the shadows with that disc spinning at top speed... For now. But for now it€™s the battle between Mina and the botles that the crowd are thinking about, as Mina constantly sends all three careering over the arena like ragdolls, but now John has crept up from behind and latched onto Mina with his arms! For a moment Kody seems to be in trouble, but the 75kg weight advantage is too much and Mina pushes John onto the Killsaws! BZZT! There seems to be some damage to the base armour, but it isn€™t fatal as John drives away, not realising Secret is coming out to play behind him!
CRASH!
If Steven ever wondered what would happen if 2mm aluminium came into contact with a disc like Secret€™s, he€™s not wondering anymore, as John€™s armour is ripped clean off and John himself is sent spinning into the pit release button! The siren wails and just for the hell of it Mina pushes the immobile John into the chasm, eliminating The Botles Reunited! Steven hangs his head in shame and Ringo suddenly has a mind of his own, taking the graceful route and plunging into the pit of his own accord! But George didn€™t think fast enough and now the house robots are coming out to play! Roger zooms in on the attack, slamming into the last of the Botles!
CRASH!
George cartwheels on its side and lands on the Killsaws! BZZT! He€™s thrown into the clutches of Bugs Bunny, who lifts him up in that cruel claw and dumps him into the pit! Bugs and Roger return to their respective CPZs and now we return to the battle, as Seung Mina rams into Secret and throws it halfway across the arena! Chezza looks worried, but dodges Mina€™s next slam, allowing Secret€™s disc to reach full speed just as he turns to meet another attack from Mina!
CRASH!
Kody spins across the arena floor and onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Mina is thrown onto her back, and though she self-rights Secret has spun up again and is ready!
CRASH!
Onto the Killsaws again! BZZT! And Mina is really feeling the heat now, but Kody stays strong and throws Secret high into the air for it to come crashing down on the disc!
CRASH!
That€™s large piece cut out of my arena floor, and as Secret bounces down Kody drives in again and rams it to the side wall before he flips! Secret pirehouttes gracefully through the air and crashes into the macrolon protecting the audience before it goes the same way as Paul- down, down and down!
CRASH!
The camera tracks will feel that in the morning, but nevertheless Seung Mina IV heads through to the annihilator!

Secret is told, The Botles are split up and Mina, well she€™s through!

Sithis v Whirligig 4.5 v Axe-o-Lotl

In the red square.... SITHIS! Sithis is an invertible ring spinner that has wheels, unlike its opponent Whirligig. Also its spinner weighs 20kg and can deal out 80Kj of power on impact, but that€™s not as much as Whirligig. This robot competed in ETC08, and did quite well, helping Flick of the Wrist take out Robochicken in round one, but it fell foul of the eventual runner-up Calm Down Dear (It€™s Only a Robot) in the second round.

In the blue square... WHIRLIGIG 4.5! Another invertible ring spinner, but this one uses shuffle pads instead of wheels. It was a Robot SMASH!! Finalist, and reached round 2 of ETC08, losing to Behemoth, who€™s titanium scoop couldn€™t be trashed.

In the green square... AXE-O-LOTL! The only newcomer to ETC in this battle, Axe-o-Lotl is as powerful as Storm II, but also has an axe like that of Dominator II. It is shaped like Comengetorix, and has 3.25mm hardox armour with interchangeable black and pink panels.

Bugs Bunny let the Botles feel his fury in the last mayhem, so he€™s back in for this mayhem, accompanied by Roger Rabbit.

ACTIVATE!

The macrolon fences disappear, revealing the horrific creations in tonight€™s mayhem! The ring spinners both spin up quickly, while Axe-o-Lotl manoeuvres off the starting square with great caution, perhaps eyeing up his opponents? But its Whirligig that draws first blood, heading towards Sithis!
CRASH!
The two ring spinners meet head on, and Sithis is sent flying across the arena while Whirligig hardly budges! Those shuffle pads have paid off, but they€™re exposed to attacks from above and we see this now as Chris takes the opportunity of Whirly€™s momentary stillness to come in on the attack, ramming Steven onto the Killsaws and striking the face of Whirligig with his axe! BZZT! One of Whirly€™s pads may have been damaged from the saws, but they€™ll take more damage now as Axe-o-Lotl€™s second blow buries the axe head into the shuffle pad! Steven gasps in horror, and things can only get worse now as Sithis comes speeding in from behind!
CRASH!
Axe-o-Lotl€™s axe is knocked out of the shuffle pad, and some of Whirly€™s blades are scattered over the arena, torn off by Sithis€™ attack! And now Whirly is just moving in circles, so the house robots come in for a look! BZZT! Roger nudges Whirly onto the Killsaws again, and the crowd scream as the ring spinner is thrown into the air, only to be plucked out of the sky by Bugs, who holds Steven aloft in his claw! Roger Rabbit presses the pit release button and Bugs carries Steven to his death, he€™s down and out due to those damaged shuffle pads, so why not add insult to injury! Whirly plunges into the pit, along with Steven€™s hopes of a place in the annihilator!
Meanwhile Axe-o-Lotl and Sithis haven€™t been neglecting their duties of smashing each other up and are locked in intense combat, Sithis running away and slamming into Mr. Mason€™s machine, only to get clobbered by that powerful axe! And Chris seems to be on top now, as Axe-o-Lotl clamps Sithis with the axe and rams it onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Sithis is thrown away, but spins up again and slams into Axe-o-Lotl!
CRASH!
Chris is spun away, and suddenly Axe-o-Lotl is venting gas- the co2 supply has been ruptured! Danny grins and comes in for another onslaught!
CRASH!
Axe-0-Lotl is hit so hard that it flies onto the Killsaws again, and is flipped over with a loud BZZT! Axe-o-Lotl is most certainly out for the count with no srimech to right itself and Sithis does a victory spin as Roger Rabbit pushes Axe-o-Lotl across the arena and into the chasm, where it falls on top of the already beaten Whirligig!

CEASE!

Whirligig needs some aspirin and Axe-o-Lotl is extinct, Sithis goes through to the annihilator!

Crimson Thunder v Do or Die v Axe to fall

In the red square... CRIMSON THUNDER! This robot was very impressive in ETC08, reaching the final of Heat B where only Clawdius could stop it. Danny Bailey already has Sithis in the annihilator, can ge get this double wedged rambots in there too? One of the wedges is inverted, so he can push adequately from both ways up.

In the blue square... DO OR DIE! Another rambots, this one from Chezza. It€™s invertible, and has 2 LEM-200s at 60v and a lifting scoop to boot! A nice paintjob in my opinion, but will that have any effect whatsoever in the Burrow?

In the green square... AXE TO FALL! A semi-barrel shape with a powerful axe and small scoop for getting underneath, Axe to Fall is a force to be reckoned with! It€™s never fought in ETC before, but did fight in Robot SMASH!!, losing in round one to Super Gore Evo.

ACTIVATE!

The fences disappear and this mayhem gets underway! Crimson Thunder is quick off the mark, homing in on Do or Die and getting in at the side, pushing Chezza onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Do or Die is flipped, but is invertible and now comes on an attack of its own, getting underneath the inverted wedge of Crimson Thunder and lifting Danny into the air! And when Crimson Thunder is most vulnerable in comes Axe to Fall, knocking Crimson Thunder off Do or Die, but bringing its axe crashing down onto the tyre of Crimson Thunder! Danny looks horrified, but he has more power and drags Martijn onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Axe to Fall holds on for a moment, but Danny holds him on the Killsaws so Martijn is forced to retreat! And in comes Do or Die on a rear attack on Martijn, ramming him into the arena side wall! But Martijn can hit opponents from the back and slams down on Chezza€™s bodywork, denting the top armour! Chezza now lifts Axe to Fall and gets in underneath so as to avoid the axe, and carries Martijn across the arena and slams into the pit release button! Meanwhile it seems Axe to Fall pierced Crimson Thunder€™s tyre, and Danny is now limping a bit, but still going. Axe to Fall has now managed to drive off Do or Die, and slams the axe down again, clamping Do or Die! But in comes Crimson Thunder and gets underneath Axe to Fall, pushing Martijn from the side, dragging Do or Die along as well! The three career towards the CPZ uncontrolled and slam into Roger, who rams them all into the arena wall!
CRASH!
The three are separated, as they all fly off in different directions, and its Axe to Fall who comes off worst, bouncing across the arena and landing upside down on the Killsaws! BZZT! Do or Die was merely pushed against the wall, and Crimson Thunder bounced almost into the pit, but didn€™t quite go in and reverses away, only to meet Do or Die! They crash into each other, but Do or Die gets under that inverted wedge and lifts Crimson Thunder again, then pushes it across the arena floor and into the pit! Crimson Thunder is down and out, and now Do or Die turns around to attack Axe to Fall, who has recovered from his bout on the Killsaws and slams the axe down onto Do or Die again, clamping, but Chezza has more horsepower and pushes Martijn back onto the Killsaws! BZZT! The axe is bumped off, and Chezza lifts Martijn from the side, pushing him into Bugs Bunny€™s CPZ! Bugs lifts Axe to Fall up into the air and goes into a spin- Martijn flies across the arena and cartwheels sideways over the Killsaws yet again! BZZT! Axe to Fall crashes down upside down and self-rights again, only to meet Do or Die, who despite getting hit by the axe pushes Martijn into Roger€™s CPZ! Our very own Shunt-esque machine gets underneath and rams Axe to Fall for the full length of the arena and into the arena wall!
CRASH!
Axe to Fall escapes, but the claxon sounds!

Two out of the three robots were left mobile, so this battle becomes the first to go to our new judging system!

The next fight is Knyfe vs. Paramagnetic LOX Box vs. Black Panther.

My tactics for this fight revolve around my weapon selection - Paramagnetic LOX box has LOADS of traction, but not much power - however, I have Black Panther to consider, as that can flip me and cause a good deal of harm, as most of my set-ups are bad once inverted.

I chose...

5: A 15mm Hardox wedge hindged at 42* with an extension, perfect for deflecting vertical spinners and getting under other robots.

The reason I use this is because of my speed and power, I can perform a Storm 2 style OOTA. Ill first go after Black Panther, go BEHIND HIM, as I think I have control good enough to do so, and ram him into a corner and watch him fly.

Do the same to Joey.

Black Panther v Paramagnetic LOX Box v Knyfe

In the red square... BLACK PANTHER! A powerful axe and extra flipper make this robot a tough cookie! Will Black Panther become the leader of the pride, or get Knyfed and Paramagnetised?

In the blue square... PARAMAGNETIC LOX BOX! A hexagonal machine that goes omni-directional, described by its owner as €œBlizzard on steroids€. Can the LOX Box out Knyfe the Knyfe and hunt down the panther, or will the hunter become the hunted?

In the green square... KNYFE! With 50HP and many different weapon setups Knyfe is a rambots dream. Designed to kill spinners, this robot packs a punch. For this round Paul has opted to go for the 15mm hardox wedge!

Tonight, for the first time we have a new face glaring from the CPZs! That€™s right ladies and gentlemen, it€™s THE EASTER BUNNY! With him is Roger Rabbit.

Knyfe is the first off the mark, getting off so fast it skims the top of the fence as it retracts into the ground! But it barely slows Paul, who shoots at Black Panther like a bullet out of a gun!
CRASH!
The two bots collide head on, and Alex just manages to get a small hit in on Knyfe with that powerful axe, but it didn€™t do any damage and Knyfe pushes Alex onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Meanwhile the LOX Box has pressed the pit release button, and now comes on the attack of Black Panther from behind, pushing Alex into Knyfe, who gets right underneath and slams Black Panther hard into the arena wall! Black Panther is thrown into the air, but crashes back down and quickly attacks Knyfe from the side, clubbing Paul relentlessly with the axe! Knyfe€™s armour holds up, but Alex gets in underneath and flips Knyfe up and over! The wedge is useless upside down, and now in comes the LOX Box, getting underneath the inverted wedge and pushing Paul back onto the Killsaws! BZZT! Sadly for Paul this doesn€™t right the robot, and Joey goes on another onslaught, this time pushing the LOX box in a wide circle and into the pit! Paul hangs his head in shame as the LOX Box reverses out of trouble, straight into Black Panther, throws it up and over before clubbing the base armour! Joey self-rights and goes back on the attack again, this time pushing Black Panther into the CPZ! The Easter Bunny clamps Black Panther in his jaws and goes on a straight run across the arena, bulldozing the LOX box aside and slamming Alex into the arena wall! The LOX Box follows, and when the Easter Bunny grudgingly releases Black Panther Joey gets straight underneath and pushes Alex back across the arena towards the chasm again! Black Panther flails about with the axe, but to no avail and the LOX Box just carries on and pushes Alex up against the arena wall, right next to the pit! Alex freezes in fear and tries to get Black Panther off the LOX box€™s wedge, but it isn€™t working and Joey uses that omni-directional drive to push Black Panther across the arena sideways and Alex crashes down into the chasm in a puff of smoke!

CEASE!

Only one robot is still on the arena floor, that€™d be the Paramagnetic LOX Box, who advances the annihilator, joining Achilles, Seung Mina IV, Sithis and Do or Die!

Mayhem 6
Another Night at the Bar v Leprosy Infection v Tira IV

In the red square... ANOTHER NIGHT AT THE BAR! A four wheel axlebot, with a horizontal spinning blade attached! We saw this robot in ETC08, where it did very well, reaching the Heat D final before losing to Super Gore Evo.

In the blue square... LEPROSY INFECTION! Very much like Tetanus Booster, this robot packs a powerful drum that spins upwards, very capable of causing some serious damage.

In the green square... TIRA IV! A vertical spinning disc with a self-righting co2 spike on the rear- what more could Kody Kunz want with this robot- a place in the annihilator perhaps?

Bugs Bunny returns to the arena, accompanied by none other than The Easter Bunny himself, who made his debut in the last bout!

ACTIVATE!

All three bots start spinning up as ACTIVATE is called and the fences disappear, and its Leprosy that moves first, driving out of its square and heading for ANATB, who meets Mr. Mason€™s challenge at full speed!
CRASH!
Leprosy Infection and ANATB both spin away, but Martijn is flipped and his bot must perform that cool little thing to get the blade back underneath, which it does, just in time to see Tira IV attack Leprosy Infection!
CRASH!
Kody€™s vertical spinner tears Leprosy€™s drum right off, sending it high into the air before landing in a crumpled heap on the camera tracks! Chris starts to back away, but Tira follows and flicks Leprosy onto the Killsaws! BZZT! The bot is thrown away again, and it seems the saws shredded on its tyres! Chris is in real trouble, but still Kody attacks, slamming into Leprosy and sending it cart wheeling into the CPZ, where it is hammered by The Easter Bunny!
CRASH!
The hammer comes down hard, and in comes Tira with yet another attack!

This time Leprosy is knocked right out of the arena, and sadly we must say goodbye to Mr. Mason, at least in the annihilator. Kody celebrates, the turns to meet his remaining opponent- ANATB, which spins up and the two bots meet head on!
CRASH!
God there are a lot of crashes in this fight, and this time its Tira that€™s the worse for wear as Kody is flipped right over! He self-rights, but Martijn slams into the rear armour, spinning Tira into the pit release, which opens the pit now! Tira turns and rams ANATB onto the Killsaws (BZZT!), but ANATB gets away and spins up again before Martijn decides to strike again with that lethal spinning bar!
CRASH!
Tira is flipped over again, and suddenly starts venting gas! The co2 supply for the srimech has been ruptured, and ANATB goes through to the annihilator!

CEASE!

The annihilator is now ready! :
