Oh yeah, definately make room for me!

      1. Whirligig 4.5 (sort of formerly Whirligig 4.0)
      SHAPE- flat disc
COLOUR- gold with Mauler-style scary face on top. The face shows the direction of the robot.
      WEIGHT- about 100kg (see bottom)
      DIMENSIONS- 101.6cm diameter X 12.7cm
      SPEED- 15mph
      TURNING CIRCLE- 0
      GROUND CLEARANCE- 8mm
ARMOUR- 1.905 cm thick Grade 5 titanium
FEET- inside robot, uses 4 DrillZilla-style shuffling plates. These help prevent the bot being flung halfway across the ring on contact with another bot, ala Typhoon
POWER- 2 X S28-400s running on 36v. Uses 120 X NiCad cells at 36v, producing 12amps at 36v overall for drive and weapon power
WEAPONS- The main weapon on Whirligig is the spinning outer ring, fitted with 9 x Pussycat-style claws. The spinner is powered by an LEM-130 running at 36v. It can reach speeds of 1000rpm and produce up to 100kJ...more than enough to kill another bot at full speed.
As well as this, the power in the shuffling feet mean that Whirly can act as a pretty powerful pusher if the shell fails to work
SRIMECH- the robot is invertible and the blades prevent Whirly landing on his side
NOTES- flies Scotland flag, thanks to AJ, my first properly calculated machine
STRENGTHS- fast, manoeuvrable, very deadly weaponry, tough armour, scary face shows its direction, very good traction, cant be flung away on impact as easily as Typhoon
WEAKNESSES- so-so manoeuvrability, feet may prove vulnerable to crushers and axes

      WEIGHT CHECK:
      armour = 33.72kg (inc blades)
chassis, mounts, bracing etc = about 30kg
drive and weapon motors = 12kg overall
      NiCads = about 15kg
      feet = about 10kg overall

TOTAL WEIGHT = 100.72kg. Fits right into the roller limit, with the 1% error margin rule. Probably.

      2. The Botles Reunited
      IS A 4-WAY CLUSTERBOT!
SHAPE- all parts are boxes with hinged skirts at the sides and rear (John€™s are shaped slightly differently, so they don€™t interfere with the weaponry)
COLOUR- John €˜Geddon (B1) = yellow with pink skirts and weaponry
Paul McHurtney (B2) = blue with grey skirts and scoop
George Harassment (B3) = red with light grey skirts and weapon
Ringo Scarr (B4) = pink with gold skirts
      WEIGHT- round about 25kg each
      DIMENSIONS- about 60cm X 40cm X 22cm each
      SPEED- 12mph
      TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- 6mm all over each (minus skirts), 0mm at sides and back each (with skirts) (John€™s are shaped a slightly different way, so when they flop over, they don€™t interfere with the axes)
      ARMOUR- 2mm aluminium
WHEELS- inside robot, 4 wheel drive
      POWER- 2 X S28-150s each
WEAPONS- For this incarnation, John has kept his front hinged wedge (giving him virtually 0mm at the front), but this time, he has a pair of Splinter-style side axes for grabbing and penetrating opponents...he€™s €œreally got a hold on me€
Paul has also kept very similar to his last incarnation. The front static scoop remains (giving virtually 0mm at the front), but also included is a pneumatic spike hidden in the bucket - partly for damaging underbellys and armour, partly for sending other bots €œflying€
George is probably the most drastically altered of the Fab 4. Only 2 of his front spikes remain from his last appearance. All the rest have been ditched to make way for a horizontal spinning blade with two hammerheads stuck on for good measure. Beware of €œMaxwell€™s silver hammer€
And last, but by no means least, there€™s Ringo! Unlike the others, Ringo is nearly completely the same as before. The main weapon remains the small front vertical drum. It€™s essentially a scaled-down version of Tornado€™s and travels at approximately 2000rpm. Our €œhard-nosed drum-er€ is definitely back
SRIMECH- all parts are invertible and the skirts prevent any member getting beached on his side
NOTES- fly Scotland flags, the colour scheme comes from the Beatle€™s outfits on the cover for Sgt Pepper€™s Lonely Hearts Club Band
STRENGTHS- multiple parts, each part is fast and quite manoeuvrable, much improved weaponry, tricky to get under, pretty good traction for lightweights
WEAKNESSES- weak armour, each segment is very light

          Name: Do or Die
          Shape: Simple box-like shape
Colour: Black with red streaks along the sides, wheel slots, and a red scoop
          Speed: 15mph
          Weight: 100kg
Armour: 5mm Hardox, with an 6mm polycarbonate baseplate, and 1cm titanium for the scoop
          Drive: 2 LEM200s @ 60v
          Power: 8 NiCad Battlepacks
          Motivation: 4WD with Urethane Rubber
Ground Clearance: 5mm with 0mm under scoop
          Dimensions: 85cm x 55cm x 20cm
Weapons: A lifting scoop powered by a linear actuator, can easily lift its own weight and can move 180 degrees, meaning it works inverted too.
          Strengths: Speed
Weaknesses: Weapon tends not to do enough damage

          Name: Secret
          Shape: Very low invertible box.
Colour: Body cyan, skirts light green, disc white with grey teeth.
          Speed: 12mph
          Weight: 100kg
Armour: 7mm titanium, 5mm titanium skirts
Drive: 2 S28-400 MagMotors running on 24 volts
Power: 4 NiCad Battlepacks running on 24 volts
Motivation: 2 wheel drive, Vulkalon rubber on the wheels for traction
Ground Clearance: 5mm under side and rear skirts.
          Turning Circle: 0
          Dimensions: 105cm x 70cm x 10cm
Weapons: Horizontal disc running on 2 S28-400 MagMotors on 24v. The disc is made of hardox, has a diameter of 60cm and weighs 17.5kg. The two 15cm long teeth are also made of hardox and weigh 2.25kg each, so the entire disc weighs 22kg, and thanks to that KE calculator, it produces 97.64kJ. Has a spin-up time of about 4.5 seconds.
          Srimech: Invertible.
Strengths: Destructive weapon, good all-rounder otherwise.
Weaknesses: Tires can be hit by axes and crushers, high spin-up time for disc

                  I will.

The Botles Reunited v Secret v Seung Mina IV

Go after The Botles. Go for any of them except Ringo Scarr, who Im not worried about at all, as it cant damage me. Stay the hell away from Secret and flip any of the three Paul, George, and John OOTA, and it doesnt matter which two I get first. After that, try and shove one of the remaining Botles into Secrets disc to stop it, get under Secret, and toss it OOTA.

Gonna open a can of whoop-ass on ya Stevo.

                    Lineups! Tactics! Fish!

NO OBJECTIONS vs. Nitro-Gene vs. Achilles
Spin. If Im targeting anyone, Ill take Nitro-Gene first, try and get it down the pit. Ill use the same strategy for a pneumatic Achilles; if Alex goes hydraulic, Ill use more spinning and try to keep myself from getting caught on the front.

The Botles Reunited vs. Secret vs. Seung Mina IV
We WILL have a clusterbot in the roof here, I feel. As for the others, Ill take a wild guess and say Secret to go through on a JD.

                    Sithis vs. Whirligig vs. Axe-O-Lotl
Axe-O-Lotl will be dead within a minute. Not really much between the other two, perhaps Whirligigs weight will help it.

Do Or Die vs. Crimson Thunder vs. Axe To Fall
                    No idea.

Knyfe vs. PARAMAGNETIC LOX BOX vs. Black Panther
Black Panther should be easy to take down - the weapons have a very narrow area of attack, and I can do omni-drive things to avoid the weapons and get it down the pit fairly easily. Knyfe Ill deal with the same way, only with less avoiding and more pushing.

Leprosy Infection vs. Another Night At The Bar vs. Tira IV
Leprosys out, thats for sure. Tira will probably edge it unless ANATB does its rocking chair act, in which case Tira will definitely edge it.

It is only now I realise I am drawn against Alex and Paul in both my melees So a big double helping of good luck with extra chocolate sprinkles and a cherry on to to both of you.

                      ETC08 Extreme

Fresh from 2 tourny wins (Im counting Marks as one), I plan to continue. My internet is partly back, so I should be able to post some predictions and tactics:

                      1) No Objections v Nitro-Gene 4.0 v Achilles: Achilles is a robot which is tough, powerful and has a high win-lose ratio, with a large number of trophies to gloat about. However, it has unbelievably thin armour - just 5mm Titanium with a 4mm Hardox scoop, but Im not going to attack the scoop . If No Objections is spinning, get around Achilles side and slam it into No Objections which should damage the flipper/lifter and also prevent it from self-righting when I flip it over. No Objections Ive handled before, and Ill deal with him via an OOTA.

                      2) The Botles Reunited v Secret v Seung Mina IV - Either Seung Mina or Secret to advance - itll most likely be Seung Mina.

                      3) Sithis v Whirligig 4.5 v Axe-o-Lotl: Im actually going for Sithis to surprise us and KO the pair of these.

                      4) Do or Die v Crimson Thunder v Axe to Fall: I pick Do Or Die to win this battle for pushing both contestants around the ring.

                      5) Knyfe v Paramagnetic LOX box v Black Panther: Set-up 2: The Flick Of The Wrist based spikes will be the pick of the day here, as they scrape the arena floor and will allow me to get under the pair of them without the risk of not being able to get under after being flipped, as either way, they flop over to scrape the floor. Push Black Panther around until something busts inside, and that axe sint going to do much to my Hardox armour or to my heavily shock-proofed internals. And I can greatly outpush BOX (I cant be bothered to write the full name ) and send it straight down the hole as well - either that or I can slam it into the walls with enough weight and speed to bust something.

                      6) Leprosy Infection v Another Night at the Bar v Tira IV: Either Kody or Martijn...Martijn for some weird reason that I cant think of

Good luck to everyone, especially Joey and Alex

Im not sure if you can outpush it - its like Blizzard on steroids, youre trying to push against six screw threads going the other way...not forgetting I can strafe out of the way of pushings. And the names not that difficult, its a LOX box that happens to be paramagnetic

What ever happened to all the cameraderie that used to exist in here?
