        ...Unless Axes has been changed since it was entered in Returners, theyre both polycarb

        Anyway not too sure on what my tactics are because the link to Hatchback actually takes you to a robot called The Circle Revisited, and there doesnt seem to be a robot called Hatchback on Daves board. So tactics are to attack Turbulence and hope whatever Hatchback is, it falls into a plot hole.

            Hatchback aka The Circle Revisited, 3 year old stats based on something designed around 2003 which wasnt good back in 2003, so it isnt the best of robots.

            Mainly I cant remember how that ring around the outside is suppose to work, so I will remove it and fit the wedges, and run around like a headless chicken hitting things with the axe

                    Just so you know, I€™m abandoning the FLIP stuff from now on. :P

                    A quarter of the way to the quarter-finals, and 28 machines have taken a well-deserved sabbatical after their losses. Let€™s send out another 14 to join them!

                    Round 1 Battle 1
                    Dr. Acula & LockJaw vs. Axe-O-Lotl & Sheer Heart Attack 2

                    €œFrom Team Operation Devastation: Dr. Acula€¦and€¦LockJaw!€

                    Probably biting off a bit more than he can chew with this vapourbot, Jamie McHarg presents Dr. Acula, a T-shaped robot with a Razer-esque crusher with a tonne of force, and is quite well armoured. Flip it over, though, and it doesn€™t have any bite to it. LockJaw is basically General Chompsalot with a more powerful jaw, that or Stinger with a jaw. Exposed wheels look a treat for spinners, but tough to damage otherwise.

                    €œFrom Team Various Dinowarriors: Axe-O-Lotl€¦and€¦Sheer Heart Attack 2!€

                    Very promising competitors here. Axe-O-Lotl reached a heat final in C&B2 with its very powerful axe despite having mediocre armour at the time. It€™s now got 3.25mm Hardox, so it should be much nicer. And his partner is none other than the current C&B champion Sheer Heart Attack 2! The main body connecting the two tracks is now the complete drum, and its drum can reach top speed quicker, but other than that it hasn€™t really changed much. Why mess with perfection?

                    In the arena for our house robots: Dead Metal, pincers and saw work to devastating effect, if not then loads of sparks. Partnering him is the deadly yet oddly tasty spinning sandwich Double Big Mac, hammers aloft.

                    Activate!

                    SHA2 is out first to meet Dr. Acula, as the claw of Dr. Acula comes into play immediately crashing into the champ and stopping the drum€¦barely. It sinks in€¦but SHA2 amscrays backwards before further mischief can happen. Jamie is on the chase, and seems to be gaining on SHA2 with the slight speed advantage, but the one who the real advantage here is SHA2€™s drum, as it is going faster than both of them! Hurriedly Dr. Acula moves in to try and stop it, but, unfortunately€¦

                    CRASH!!

                    €¦he€™s too late. Dr. Acula is knocked into the air, the 39kJ enough to topple him onto his back, as he scoots away. Now Axe-O-Lotl and LockJaw move out, and right towards each other without giving the merest thought about their tag-team partners. WHAM! It€™s Chris who€™s on the losing end, as the jaws defeat his wedge and sink in. Down comes Axe-O-Lotl€™s axe but getting hardly anything done as the axe arm of Axe-O-Lotl comes into contact with LockJaw€™s axle. Now Axe-O-Lotl€™s tires have left the ground and LockJaw has him in his iron grip, which is tightening still but can€™t sink into that Hardox armour. He drags Axe-O-Lotl across the arena, and moves him over the arena saws€¦BZZT!!! Loads of sparks, and we€™ll have to wait and see if they€™re any damage€¦

                    Speaking of damage, SHA2 has managed to clip Dr. Acula on the side, knocking that 8mm HDPE panel away to reveal the 4mm Hardox underneath! Dr. Acula is in a state of peril now, and needs to either get knocked onto his right way up again, or send SHA2 down the pit€¦and it looks like he€™s going for the pit. WHAM. Straight into the pit release button. SHA2 is quite fast too, though, and the speed advantage of Dr. Acula does not save Jamie as Martijn crashes in from behind!

                    CRASH!!!

                    A nasty hit on the side, and Dr. Acula is thrown up against the arena wall€¦and seemingly stranded! Not a bad hit from the C&B2 champ there, and Jamie€™s situation has gone from slightly perilous to downright mortifying as he can€™t get a grip on the arena floor, the tires hanging off the ground as it leans on its own side! His job wiith Dr. Acula looking to be done, SHA2 speeds off in LockJaw€™s direction€¦to find that LockJaw has put Axe-O-Lotl down the pit! BOOM! Isn€™t this special? Dr. Acula hits the pit to try and get SHA2 done€¦and unknowingly helps out his teammate!

                    Martijn, for lack of a better word, is downright pessed () off at this turn of events, and with a howl plunges straight towards LockJaw. Liam sees it coming, yet can€™t avoid its coming!

                    CRASH!!!

                    That drum is looking unstoppable since Dr. Acula€™s slight intrusion as it sends LockJaw up and over€¦and SHA2 nudges it from the rear and starts to push! LockJaw tries vainly to spin around and clamp, but SHA2 has the better traction, the better speed, and the better chance as LockJaw is pushed near, on the edge of, and straight down on top of Axe-O-Lotl.

                    CEASE!

                    Dr. Acula receives a huge €˜fangs€™ a lot from LockJaw, who lives up to his name as both crash out.

                    Supreme Glory Omega & ISDSFA vs. Turbulence & Hatchback

                    €œFrom Team Dunno: Supreme Glory Omega€¦and€¦ISDSFA!€

                    Fire your guns! It€™s Supreme Glory Omega! Its axe can fire both ways, is very powerful, and is protected with skirts. It uses a vacuum system to suck itself to the ground against pushers, and has decent armour. It Still Doesn€™t Stand For Anything? Well it does now! ISDSFA is a Behemoth-shaped robot with a scoop that can lift 250kgs, and behind it a 8kJ horizontal disc to attack opponents€™ drive€¦but not armour. It is quite well armoured and can go at 15mph.

                    €œFrom Team JimBob: Turbulence€¦and€¦Hatchback!€

                    Dave Moulds€™ machine Turbulence may create quite a tremor, a very powerful rear-hinged flipper in the mix with a mildly tough body shell, but not the best pushing power. Hatchback is cylindrically shaped with a powerful axe and an armoured ring, but for this fight it will replace that with front and rear wedges. The main armour isn€™t the best, but it€™s plenty powerful.

                    A brawl to quite possibly be lost among them all; the four robots are in each other€™s faces again. ISDSFA attacks Turbulence, who fails to get under the scoop and is tossed straight over. He rights himself, but straight back onto ISDSFA€™s scoop, and is pushed all the way over to€¦one of the Discs of Death!

                    CRASH!!!

                    WHOA! I saw a burst of smoke just fly out of Turbulence€™s flipper! Does this mean that hit burst open the CO2 tank? We may never know, but we do know that Turbulence€™s rear just suffered a wide gash! ISDSFA isn€™t idling, though, and slides the scoop under Turbulence as it tries to get away, lifting it up and holding it there. Turbulence fires its flipper about a second later€¦it works! But it€™s exactly what Frank wanted, as the realie tilts itself right into the hazard again!

                    CRASH!!!

                    Uh€¦I think that€™s the end of Turbulence, it€™s been thrown for a loop across the arena, the rear blown wide open to reveal a mashed-up motor. Talk about hazard damage! And Hatchback isn€™t having fun either; it€™s wedged SGO and fired its axe, and while having dented SGO€™s 20mm Lexan, SGO€™s own axe has fired, and it€™s done significantly more damage, as Hatchback€™s 4mm titanium top armour has a clean hole in it! Hatchback goes on the attack again, but its axe blow goes wide as ISDSFA crashes into it and tosses it over, SGO colliding to the ground. Hatchback lands straight onto its back, but before it can right itself SGO hurls aloft the axe and WHACK!!! Now the bottom panel takes a hole€¦and Daniel has no plans of hacking him to death€¦ISDSFA backs up towards the pit release at the other end as SGO keeps Hatchback on its€¦back, and moves it onto the pit€¦which descends as Frank activates the button€¦and€¦down it goes.

                    CEASE!

                    Turbulence will be feeling that in the morning, and Hatchback gets caught between the hammer and the€¦pit.

                              Axes of Evil & Terrorhurtz vs. Baldur Gamma & Whirligig 4.5

                              €œFrom Team After-Life: Axes of Evil€¦and€¦Terrorhurtz!€

                              Axes of Evil is a sort of clone of its partner, hexagonal-shaped and nicely armoured, though torque ia a problem. Its axe can hit both front and back, is extremely powerful, and spikes on the sides can help it self-right. Terrorhurtz: who needs to know what they already do know? Polycarbonate armour, tough front plating, enormous axe packing a great amount of power€¦you get the picture. It came 3rd in Robot Wars Series 6.

                              €œFrom Team Vengeance For All: Baldur Gamma€¦and€¦Whirligig 4.5!€

                              Quite the toughie, Baldur Gamma was designed to take out any spinner without trouble. Its front armour is impenetrable, and it isn€™t that bad of a pusher either. Lack of weaponry? Nope. It has a front lifting scoop too. Whirligig 4.5, dunno where the .5 comes into play, but oh well. It€™s got over 100kJ of force from its spinning rim with its blades, and it€™s got S28-400s for drive, but€¦it€™s a 100kg shuffler. Even with 1.905cm of titanium armour, it needs some more weight, methinks.

                              Split up again: the robots have left their starting spaces! Whirligig is backing off to spin up that lethal spinning shell as Terrorhurtz flies at it off the mark. What happens, you reckon? I€™ll tell you€¦

                              CRASH!!!

                              What happens is that Terrorhurtz gets flung across the arena by the quickly spun-up ring spinner! No damage thanks to the tough front plating, but Team Hurtz will be feeling that in the morning. And Axes of Evil is on Baldur€™s case, crashing into the front and trying to hack the 5mm Hardox€¦definitely not working. Terrorhurtz turns around and implements his regular tactics€¦snneaking up behind Baldur, that is, and does so. Alex is caught now, but Steve is coming in, spinning dangerously. Terrorhurtz moves in further, saving the axe as it pushes Baldur onto Axes of Evil, but before Axes of Evil can trap it with the axe, Baldur gets the traction going on Axes of Evil€™s front panel and scoots off and away, narrowly passing Whirligig. Steve bores in, and too fast for either member of Team After-Life to get away!

                              CRASH!!!

                              Axes of Evil gets it this time, and the side 20mm polycarbonate panel is shredded and torn clean off! Well what do you expect from a 100+kJ spinner? Axes of Evil doesn€™t seem to be moving around properly as well€¦I think he€™s lost one side of his drive! Baldur and Terrorhurtz meanwhile are locked together, unable to get €˜neath the other, and THz brings the axe down. WHACK! The 5mm Hardox takes a dent, but€¦a very small one. Baldur gets the power going and shoves Terrorhurtz backwards, as they near Whirligig, who moves in with apparent joy, blades spinning happily.

                              CRASH!!!

                              It€™s Terrorhurtz who takes the hit, and Baldur who gets sent back a bit, and Whirligig having 1000rpm as its top spin-up speed gets there within 2 seconds as Terrorhurtz is pushed back into him by Baldur, the gashed-up rear panel getting struck again!

                              CRASH!!!

                              BOOM! Terrorhurtz flies overtop of Baldur, streaming great amounts of smoke, and I think that its weapon has just been taken out€¦and so has the rest of the robot. It ain€™t moving. The Watcher moves over to it and starts to count it out, as the counter flashes on.
                              1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

                              Axes of Evil is stuck on the wall, reversing, and turning into the wall, going forwards, and doing 180 right back into the wall€¦and here comes Whirligig, prowling in for the kill!

                              CRASH!!!

                              A huge hit, the front taking a blow and getting torn straight off! WHACK! OOH!!! Whirligig€™s been snagged by the injured Axes of Evil! The axe has come down, and actually dented STRUCK WHIRLIGIG€™S SHUFFLING PADS!!! And now it€™s stuck in the slot! Baldur comes by and shunts into Axes of Evil as Damocles and Growler leave their CPZs to have a go at the deflated Terrorhurtz, and Baldur gets Axes of Evil into an empty CPZ and holds him there. Uh, hello house robots? Ah€¦no. They€™re much rather pick on Terrorhurtz. Growler€™s clamped him in his jaws€¦ah, the floor flipper! When have we seen that come into play? Released onto the spot€¦and€¦there he goes! Straight onto his back, and done. Damocles moves towards him.

                              CRASH!!!

                              The wrecked machine is wrecked further, as the axe is bent out of shape and the big 1012 is sent flying across the arena! Damocles moves in once more, and drums€¦

                              CRASH!

                              And Terrorhurtz is gone, straight over the arena wall, and out. NOW the house robots turn their attention to the CPZ, where Baldur is trying to flip Axes of Evil,but since he€™s stuck against the arena wall - ah! Axes of Evil is pushed up, and over the wall! Out go Team After-Life, well done Baldur and Whirligig.

                              CEASE!

                              Axes of Evil get the real axe, and Terrorhurtz got terrified of the house robots!
                              Baldur Gamma and Whirligig 4.5 advance to Round 2!

                              MeCannibal 2.0 and Phoenix Down vs. Infusion Gamma and Exertion

                              €œFrom Team Chevron Insanity: MeCannibal 2.0€¦and€¦Phoenix Down!€

                              Keep your robot children inside, or else they will fall prey to the vicious MeCannibal 2.0, who is a dangerous ring spinner, producing an unheard-of-except-with-tourneys-with-MDU-in-them 195kJ per blow, and heavy shockproofing to protect itself against its own blows, though it will be quite unreliable nonetheless with that kJ output. It has a self-raising skirt like fellow robot Walk Away. Phoenix Down, akin to Jabberwock from Battlebots, has its lifting forks on this fight. Tough side armouring and LEM200 drive should make anybody quiver in their booties.

                              €œFrom Team SpunOut: Infusion Gamma€¦and€¦Exertion!€

                              Another Infusion? Infusion Gamma€¦yeah, you know all about him, front wedge, Kinetic Boost, rear spinning rim, got it. Exertion on the other hand is ForcePower without the overkill. 5mm Hardox construction and 4 S28-400s will give you a tough pusher, and has a 10mm titanium lifting scoop to throw opposing robots around. Team SpunOut have already have a team in the Finals, can they add another?

                              Phoenix Down immediately rushes down Infusion Gamma, who actually rushes out to counter it€¦and greet it too. WHAM! They meet, and Phoenix Down seems to have the advantage as it€™s slipped under Infusion and€¦it€™s lifted it too high!!!

                              CRASH!!!

                              The spinning rim hits the floor and sends Infusion flying across the arena, straight into Sir Killalot€™s CPZ, as Phoenix Down leaves it alone for now, and hurries off to find Exertion. Exertion has box rushed MeCannibal, and the shuffler has barely avoided it and managed to reach full speed. Exertion turns around and is greeted by the ring spinner!

                              CRASH!!!

                              It€™s bent the 10mm scoop, but not ripped it off! OH!!! MeCannibal€™s done a Mauler! It€™s out of control across the arena, spinning and bouncing uncontrolably! Exertion chases after it, only to get wedged from the side by an incoming Phoenix Down and lifted up, and pushed straight into an empty CPZ! Exa-Gore-Ic swoops down on it as Phoenix down moves away, and Exertion hits the floor only to be clamped by Exa-Gore-Ic and squeezed. Sir Killalot meanwhile has Infusion€¦HEY! What the?! Sir Killalot, you are not allowed to dump an opponent out of the arena unless they are immobilized!!! Get in there, ref, give him the red card - there you go! Sir Killalot has been given the red card by The Watcher, and will have to sit the rest of this battle out! Aaron is yelling at the driver of Sir Killalot angrily, because that wasn€™t supposed to happen. Oh well, a bit of controversy is expected in tournaments such as these, but still, even house robots should not be breaking the rules€¦

                              Speaing of house robots, Exa-Gore-Ic has got Exertion right where he wants him, straight over the flame pit, and Phoenix Down is trying to get the still-bouncing MeCannibal back onto its shuffling pads€¦ah, there we go. Finally, Paul wipes his brow as his shuffler is still moving, and spinning up, thanks to that shockproofing€¦uh oh, it€™s still unstable though. MeCannibal pounds madly towards Exertion as Exa-Gore-Ic releases him€¦and I don€™t think Exertion is moving. Ah€¦I see some smoke emanating from Exertion€™s wheels slots€¦the drive has been burnt out it seems? Phoenix Down moves in and lifts it, tossing it over€¦no, he€™s pretty much dead. And pretty much about to be MeCannibal fodder!

                              CRASH!!!

                              Mauler time again! MeCannibal is plunged straight into the bouncing routine once more, but Exertion has felt the blow as it€™s taken out the side panel, and now we can clearly see the damage the flame pit has caused before - one of the motors is on fire! And The Watcher is nearing Exertion€™s dead carcass€¦and here comes the countdown.
                              1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

                              Out go Team SpunOut, and Aaron€™s temper isn€™t likely to subside, as Exa-Gore-Ic shoots out again, grips onto Exertion, and moves it over the arena saws, as Phoenix Down hits the pit release. BZZT! Sparks, but no further damage. No further damage€¦but the last thing we see is the pitting of Exertion by the house robot. BOOM!

                              CEASE!

                              Infusion Gamma unfairly dumped OOTA, while Exertion receives some friction burn.
                              MeCannibal 2.0 and Phoenix Down advance to Round 2!

                              In the pits€¦

                              Kody: You€™re not looking too happy.
                              Aaron: Damn straight! What the hell did he do that for?
                              Kody: Dunno, but it wasn€™t fair at all. At least he got a red card.
                              Aaron: I€™ll give him more than that, you can be sure.
