Dante to end up in the moat, Behemoth KOd

      Battle 1

We head to The Moat for our first fight today. Let€™s look at how our combatants got here:

Razer showed dominance in their first match, taking the fight to both competitors, eventually winning the melee by wrecking Air€™s motors. Shane Swan is sending them a repair bill as we speak.

Despite disabling 259€™s weapon in the opening seconds of their melee, Dante saw little action as Behemoth robot-handled it before finishing off 259. Dante may not have gone through in style, but they€™re still through.

Dante is moving forward hesitantly as is Razer, both respecting the other€™s weapon. Razer makes the first aggressive move, trying to get around to the side of Dante. Dante spins around and drives forward at Razer, but Razer drives forwards and Dante€™s lunge misses. Dante spins around to face Razer€™s rear, but Razer manages to get a little distance and turns around to face Dante.

Dante edges forwards, aiming just off centre on Razer€™s front, but Razer drives forwards and past Dante, and both spin on the spot to try and get at each other€™s rear, and end up driving by the side of each other again. Is this robot fighting or robot ballet?

Dante once again comes in at Razer, with Razer going slightly to the side of Dante, and the claw closes down on one of the wheels, piercing through the rubber tread and holding it tight! Dante swings around on the other wheel, clipping one of Razer€™s wings with the flywheel and bending it upwards before Razer compensates and turns itself away from the flywheel, all the time hanging onto Dante€™s other wheel like a pit-bull. What damage is being done under the rubber is hard to see, but the claw seems to be stuck where it is.

Razer is eventually forced to let go as Dante is still too slippery to push around properly. As soon as the beak is raised enough Dante is off the scoop, but Razer closes it down and once more the claw descends, wedging itself between the self righting bar and the wheel, finally trapping Dante! Razer wastes no time, driving to the edge of the moat and sending Dante down!

The winner, via moating - Razer!

      Battle 2

We move from The Moat to The Metalworks, where two more metal warriors await to do battle. And if the driver doesn€™t like their current model they can always get out and steal someone else€™s. Obscurity FTW

Behemoth stormed through their melee in this very arena, overturning 259 as well as damaging and pitting Dante. Will they continue in this fashion, or will their opponent have something to say about that?

That opponent is Metal Sonic Spin Dash, who was aggressive despite coming in runner up in their fight having damaged Razer and Air.

MSSD rockets forwards at Behemoth who meets it head on. Perhaps they think this is a sumo match? Regardless, it€™s Behemoth who gets under MSSD, but is still pushed back slightly by the power of MSSD. That is until the bucket fires, tipping MSSD up allowing Behemoth to get under properly and push MSSD back into one of the floor flippers.

The flipper fires, and MSSD is thrown over Behemoth€™s head and into the centre of the arena. It self rights easily, but Behemoth is bearing down on its rear. MSSD turns to escape but not in time as Behemoth gets under the side and pushes MSSD into the wall, axing the top a couple of times for good measure before flipping it over again, propping it against the wall.

Steve fires the srimech immediately, pushing MSSD away from the wall and past Behemoth, which crashes into the wall as it drives forwards on where MSSD was. MSSD falls onto its top, causing parents in the audience to clap their hands over their children€™s eyes, lest they read Steve€™s opinion of Sonic€™s evil counterpart.

MSSD self rights again, but the self righter causes it to flip over, land on top of Behemoth and slip off onto its back again. The Behemoth team freeze in horror for a split second, obviously getting flashbacks. But Behemoth fails to go bat censored insane, so the driver just turns it around and gets under MSSD again before it€™s quite hit the ground. The srimech fires, but MSSD is facing the wrong way and ends up with its base propped up against Behemoth.

Behemoth turns to face the arena wall and fires the bucket up again. MSSD is thrown up, but its rear catches the top of the wall, sending it tumbling back into the arena where it rests on top of Behemoth for a second before tumbling off and landing on its wheels. Steve takes MSSD away from the arena wall as fast as he can to create some distance and finally prevent Behemoth from closing him out.

MSSD turns around once it€™s in the centre of the arena, driving forward and to the side of the incoming Behemoth. Behemoth turns around to face MSSD but MSSD€™s speed helps it out as it gets under the side of Behemoth, and with the saw chewing away at the side pushes Behemoth over one of the flippers and this time it€™s Behemoth who€™s sent for the ride!

Behemoth self rights on the second attempt, only for MSSD to get under the rear and slam Behemoth into the arena wall. Steve is disappointed though, he was aiming for the pit. MSSD tries to turn underneath Behemoth to put it down, but Behemoth slips off the wedge and just about manages to drive pats the pit without going down.

Behemoth turns around to face MSSD and gets under the front, flipping it over and propping it against the wall again. Before Steve can act, Behemoth drives forwards, gets under the rear of MSSD and flips, finally putting MSSD over the wall and out of the competition!

The winner, via OOTA - Behemoth!

I have to do histories in my introductions because it¡¦s so long between fights. Double shifting at work sucks. It really sucks Æ’¼

Anyway, we head to The Metalworks for the heat D final. Lots of history between our two finalists, but let¡¦s see how they got here:

Razer came through their opening melee in fine style, damaging Air¡¦s motors and giving Metal Sonic Spin Dash a nibble or two for good measure. Then it was cat and mouse against Dante, eventually managing to send Alex¡¦s slippery machine into the moat.

Behemoth has been on a tear so far, flipping 259 out of the competition after dominating Dante. Metal Sonic Spin Dash lasted longer but was still beaten in a rather one sided fight. Over the arena wall they went!

Incidentally, parents in attendance then sued us after their children read what was on MSSD¡¦s base. Thanks Steve

A more cautious start from Behemoth in this fight as opposed to previous fights. Rather than trying to meet the infamously low scoop of Razer, they¡¦re edging forwards attempting to get a side attack in. Razer is quickly in at Behemoth¡¦s side though, the beak clamping down and Behemoth is being shoved sideways while the axe flails impotently! But Behemoth has tougher armour than in previous encounters, and our cameras can see that Razer isn¡¦t making a great deal of headway!

Still, Razer has Behemoth pinned against the arena wall now and even if they can¡¦t quite pierce Behemoth, they can sure put a denting on the armour. The question is, will the bent armour affect Behemoth¡¦s wheels? The Behemoth team look on annoyed as Razer just keeps them there, with Behemoth not being able to get enough traction to escape Razer¡¦s grip.

Thirty seconds have passed, Razer has to release Behemoth or get disqualified. This they do momentarily, but before Behemoth can quite get away, Razer is on them again and the beak has them once more! This time it¡¦s chowing down on the rear part of Behemoth. Behemoth is able to move forward now, dragging Razer along for the ride!

Suddenly, Behemoth turns to the side and reverses, aiming Razer straight at the pit! Seeing the intention, Razer lets go and saves itself, and manages to get a hold of Behemoth¡¦s side once again as it goes past. Now it¡¦s Behemoth who¡¦s heading pitward, but the black and yellow machine has just enough traction on the floor to spin itself away from danger.

Razer momentarily releases Behemoth to try and get under better but as soon as the claw is raised, Behemoth slides off the scoop and is in a position to flip Razer! Razer is over on its side now, and Behemoth pushes the self righting Razer inexorably toward the pit! Unfortunately for the Behemoth boys, Razer¡¦s self righting causes it to slip away from the scoop. Unfortunately for the Razer team, this causes them to flip over once more.

Razer again begins to self right, and Behemoth comes in for the kill, but just clip past Razer. Razer is back on its wheels now and is looking for blood, and Behemoth just manages to avoid supplying that blood! Razer chases down Behemoth and grips onto the side once more, putting a severe dent in the titanium shell. It could even be piercing it a little, our cameras can¡¦t quite see!

It¡¦s another agonising thirty seconds for the Behemoth team as Razer holds on for the maximum time allowed before releasing and immediately grabbing hold again. Behemoth¡¦s driver waggles the control stick hopefully, but there¡¦s not enough traction there to move around and yet another thirty seconds goes by with Behemoth being frozen out of the fight.

This time Behemoth manages to scuttle away before Razer can re-establish their grip, and we can see clearly now Razer has pierced Behemoth¡¦s side! Razer closes down on the escaping Behemoth, but Behemoth gets turned around and Ian Lewis makes a rare driving error, giving Behemoth a clear shot at Razer¡¦s side!

Rather than just flip Razer over, Behemoth scoops Razer up and drives it forwards a few meters, then flipping it over straight onto the killsaw bank! The saws come up immediately, bouncing Razer back onto its wheels, but the tactic has paid off as one of the self righting wings has been torn off completely!

Razer seems to be responding sluggishly, allowing Behemoth plenty of time to get under the side and almost nonchalantly throw it over. The Razer team just put their remotes down as Behemoth does a victory lap and twirl, flicking the scoop as it does. Razer¡¦s being counted out as it lays in a pool of its own hydraulic fluid. The count is done for show only. Both teams and the audience know the result: Behemoth has finally beaten Razer.

                CEASE!!

The winner, via KO ¡V Behemoth!

Nice work, Frank. Good to see this starting up again.

Sheer Heart Attack vs. ARRTDS vs. ForcePower 5.0

                        I think I smell burning - do C42-500s take 60v?

I dont really have any specific tactics. Just try and pit either of them. Use the wedge to push them into the hazards. Ill try and avoid the front end of Sheer Heart Attack, but I should be able to withstand most attacks anyway I hope. I have a feeling ARRTDS might be its own downfall with overvolted motors and a 28mph top speed. All those holes should be nice for SHA to latch on to as well...

In the other battle, I think Mechavore may be moated by Killotine: EVO.
