Eye Of The Robot - Series 3 (My first real tornument!&#4

Paul, Im affraid people might be a bit biased here

me, as the one entering the clusterbot, OF COURSE vote for the option where the ENTIRE bot has to be out, rather than one part

in my own tournament, Mechanical Noise, I use the rule that when the parts that are out equal 50% or more of the total clusterbots mass, the entire bot is out

so really, I vote for all parts have to be out, but I can PERFECTLY understand everyone else doing otherwise

Eye Of The Robot - Series 3 (My first real tornument!&#4

When With Or Without You was being designed, me and Martijn talked quite a lot about the rules regarding when it would be out or not. Obviously the 50% rule should clearly be used - but from there it is down to the writer to judge what 50% out means. There are a number of scenarios that could happen from the bar hitting an opponent, and Ill give my views on them:

                1) The bar strikes but neither is knocked out and the fight continues as normal
                2) The bar strikes, the opponent is knocked out and the cluster survives - the cluster wins
                3) The bar strikes, the opponent survives and the cluster is knocked out - the opponent wins
                4) The bar strikes, and both are knocked out, which is where it becomes a little tricky...

As the opponent is 100% out it is eliminated, and as the cluster is 50% out it is also eliminated. My suggestion here would be to judge the fight up until the bar made contact, and the winner is based on that.

Really, REALLY good robots Leo, but there are 2 too many realies in your line-up. Apart from that, EXTREMELY good line-up. But get rid of 2+ realies.

Another thing - what shape is Eternia?

Paul, did you know that two of those realies were MADE by Leo? (Splinter, Hannibal)

You really should let him enter them as 2 more places for vapourbots; even though they are not vapourbots they still belong to him.

                            Ill enter the Infusion family....

                            Name: Infusion Alpha
                            Motivation: 4 x 125mm wheels
Speed: 0-12MPH [25MPH under Kinetic Boost]
Clearance: 7.5mm (same inverted) 0mm at the front, the wedge scraps the floor.
                            Weight: 100kg
                            Height: 125mm
                            Length: 800mm
                            Width: 600mm
Weapon: The weapon is a 28kg Hardox spinning ring (Ala MDU) powered by a LEM170 @ 36v. The rim rotates at 2000rpm and should spin up within 2 seconds max. The weapon is also a storage device for the drive. The spinning rim is connected to each side of the drive via a car air conditioner clutch, when the clutches are engaged, the 31kg kinetic storage bank(the spinning rim) transfers its energy into the drive train, giving it approximately double torque and speed for 2-3 seconds until the rim starts too loose speed and energy. This extra €˜kinetic€™ boost is used to ram into opponents with the front 10mm thick Hardox 500 wedge (similar to the one on Warrior SKF but wider and less depth to it). The front wedge is rubber shock mounted to ensure it survives the biggest of hits.
Drive: 2 x C40-500 Magmotors on 36v geared 7.5:1. The drive is also assisted via the spinning rim as explain above.
                            Batteries: 110 x 2300mAh A123 LiNP Cells made into 36v packs. Produces 36v @ 23.0 Amp/Hours
Armour: Front wedge is made entirely out of 8mm Hardox 500, the top and bottom of the robot is made out of 8mm Titanium/Vandium, The ring is made out of 10mm Hardox 400 with inner bracing to the perimeter bearing. Inner bulk heads are made from 20mm polycarbonate and 10mm aluminium.
Notes: Invertible, speed when needed and generally well controlled for a spinner. Ram or Spin, Infusion aims to win!

                            Name: Infusion Beta

Hmm, tough choice. May as well go for Infusion.
