Whirligig 4.0 is the first to move at the whistle, going over to the corner of the arena in order to spin the up the massively devastating shell, whilst Sengazanken limps out of the blocks, bloodied and beaten from his last 2 skirmishes, but still just about going albeit with only one disc for this fight, as the other sits static, evidently damaged in the last bout against YACATR.
Whirligig 4.0 takes no time at all to get his shell up to speed, and immediately then starts moving towards a rather sheepish Sengazanken, who looked lightning fast in his first round battle, but is now limping at what looks like a fraction of the pace. Whirligig still seems to be wary of the front wedge and disc on Tony€™s machine though, and so sidles up to the rear corner, making barely any contact but still shredding a gouge in the corner of the 8mm titanium shell.
The good thing about the attack for Steve though is, not only has he done damage, but he€™s also not slowed the shell down, and is now directly behind Sengazanken. He makes the most of this an immediately reverses in for an attack on the full surface of the rear. He slams in and a loud popping noises fills the arena as he sends the middle of the panel inwards with a phenomenal shot, popping it like a knife through a coke can.
Tony€™s limping further now, and it€™s obvious that previous battles really have taken their toll. Smoke is starting to billow out of the machine, which is crawling almost snail paced. He does just about manage to make it to the pit release button which he nudges, in the vain hope, one would imagine, that he could possibly hope for a lucky spin, much like he had against YACATR in the last fight.
Whirligig€™s not playing it stupid though, and comes in from the side this time, shell still spinning, smashing it again, and tearing a ravine into the side panel. Tony€™s robot limps away, but only seems capable of going in a straight line. He slams the controls down up in the pod, and it appears to possibly reception that€™s been damaged as he continues to go forward€¦ Refbot realises he€™s immobilised even though he€™s still moving and comes into count him out.
CEASE
Sengazanken can€™t summon the strength to get any further Whirligig 4.0 blows his way through into the series semi-finals.
Next up: Heat 4
Axe to Fall (7) v Mega Masher v Dysfunction
Slammer V (23) v MeCannibal v Kan Opener
