    Right - Here it is

    EYE OF THE ROBOT - SERIES 1

    This is the start of a new era of fictional roboteering. Inspired by the FightingRobots fan fiction forum, I€™ve made a new tournament - Eye of the Robot (E.O.T.R). This is a great task for me to learn to write longer things, and put more effort into what I do, and not rush it.

    The competition is 6 rounds with 12 heats, and 6 robots in each heat. This set up is like this

    HEATS

    R1 - 2 x 3 ROBOT MELLES, TWO GO THROUGH
    R2 - 2 x 1 ON 1, TWO ROBOTS GOES THROUGH
    R3 - 1 x 1 ON 1, ONE ROBOT GOES THROUGH

    FINALS

    R4 - 6 x 1 ON 1, 6 ROBOTS GO THROUGH
    R5 - 2 x 3 ROBOT MELLES, 2 ROBOTS GO THROUGH

    PLAY-OFF - ONE 4 ROBOT BATTLE

    R6 (GRAND FINAL) - 1 ON 1.

    The Arena

    The arena is a hexagon shaped arena with a pit in the top right corner, with the release switch next to it on the left. The pit is in the middle of the arena. On both sides, there are spinning cylinders weighing 200kg each and spinning at 2000rpm. There are 4 on each wall, two spin upwards and two spin right. There are two starting squares are at the top and bottom of the arena. The walls are 1metre high, and robots will go OOTA.

    The Judging System

    The system has 5 categories: Style, Control, Strategy, Aggression and Damage. It category is 15 points spilt between the robots. E.g. x: 2 y: 13 The points add up to 75 and the winner is the robot with the highest score.

      1. people didnt actually enter this, so they wont feel very bonded with this entire tournament

      2. and well... whats the point in predicting, the torunaments over anyway, Y4 will win Heat A and Storm will beat Leprosy Infection in the Heat B final



      this particular tournament will never feel like others, but itll still be a way to show off your writing skills, as well as some cool battles, for some people it might also show how good their bots are

      this could be a great way up for you to start writing real tournaments, which WILL have lotsa people posting

        Fair point Martijn, however although Y4 will win Heat A and Storm 2 wins Heat B, there are 12 other heats, which anyone could win.
        Its full of stuff few people will expect. Im at school at the moment, but Ill post Round One of Heat A when I get home

          Just a couple of words of advice:

          Things dont always happen instantaneously on the forum; just because no-one has replied a day after you made the first post doesnt mean that theyre ignoring it - it just means that either they dont have any interest in it or they just havent seen the thread yet (the fanfic threads were really quiet a couple of weeks ago so its possible that some of the regular fanfic posters arent visiting the forum every single day)

          No need to get angry about it; comments such as Reply if you dont wish this to happen dont exactly sound welcoming, some people will pick them up as being demanding and/or rude, not everyone will like that.

          Dont want to sound as if Im having a go at you, its not my intention; just want you to consider how other people might perceive some of your comments.

          Im not a fanfic participant so my views of your tournament might be different from those who regularly compete but you seem to have a good understanding of how to go about running a thing like this so good luck for it - some people might prefer to decide if they want to enter their vapourbots rather than having them already entered but for being your first tournament on this forum, it appears to have a solid base which is always benficial so I hope it goes well

            Due to what everyone is saying Im going to post all of Heat 1, just to put some life back into the forum:

            HEAT A

            Round One

            Entered by Steven McGregor, Wedge Devolution!!
            Wedge Devolution is the classic robot based vapourbot. Shaped like a sleek wedge with sloped sides to avoid stacking and it€™s armed with a rear-hinged flipper, that is so powerful, the least amount of weight it could pick is 1000kg! It€™s also got 2 LEM 130€™s at 36V and armoured with 4mm Hardox, Wedge Devolution is hoping to do well!

            Y4 is the first contestant from underrated vapourboteer, Chris Mason. This robot is based on BattleBots season 5 Middleweight champion T-Minus, with exactly the same shape, only this is slightly faster at 20mph and has very, VERY tough titanium armour. Y4 could be the surprise of the heat.

            This robot with a rather rude name has a rather nasty weapon. Yet again, it€™s a flipper, but super mechanics mean it can win with just one flip - on a bad day, it can flip 100kg 15ft into the air, and you often fly out of the arena! Even if you do survive one flip of Flipping Hell, enacting revenge is very tricky - 18mph, Hardox/Titanium/Valadium armour makes this the robot everyone wishes to stay away from.

            Steve walks up to Booth #1, waving to the audience with his ever enthusiastic smile. He picks up the controls for Wedge Devolution. Christopher Mason is in Booth #2; he€™s dressed like the Terminator, even with glasses! And of course Dave Weston is in Booth #3 and he€™s in a suit to mark the beginning of E.O.T.R.
            The audience cheers and the arena starts the countdown to start the tournament.

            Straight away, Flipping Hell is of and underway, looking to go for Y4, but Y4 charges straight at him. The narrow blade gets underneath Flipping Hell, and he is flipped over, does a double somersault, but lands on his back. Dave Weston presses the flipper button, and then we see the power of his flipper, he flies 7ft in the air, and lands right side up!
            Wedge Devolution meanwhile has flipped Y4 over, only for Y4 to quickly self-right, but Flipping Hell isn€™t doing anything, it seems to be immobilised. Wedge Devolution flips Y4 again, but Y4 keeps on self-right and getting away, this time now pushing Y4 into the spinning bars on the arena left side wall. Wedge Devolution is spun away, and then flipped. Flipping Hell is getting counted out!

            Wedge Devolution finishes by flipping Y4 OOTA.

            Result
            Flipping Hell broke its drive chains when it self-righted. The all terrifying Flipping Hell is out; Wedge Devolution goes through along with the surprising Y4

            Achilles is a highly popular robot; with experience in at least 4 tournaments - FFW 3, NSTT, PTT 5 and VFT6. It is a box with skirted sides at a rounded rear end. The armour 5mm Titanium, covered in 2inches of Vulcanised rubber. The weapon is a flipper with an extension, which can be changed with pneumatics or hydraulics to make it either flip or lift. Achilles is a tough cookie.

            Invertex is a brand new vapourbot! Like everyone in this heat, it€™s a flipper, with 2 hydraulic rams at 1000psi, this generates 3 tons of force at the scoop and 5 tons if fully underneath another robot. The flipper is shaped like a €˜V€™ with 2 10cm long extensions on the scoop. The armour is 13mm Titanium and it is 4 wheeled. Invertex could suck everyone into the Invertex.

            Aquarius is the simplest robot in the heat, but not the worst at all. An invertible double wedge with a flipping arm. The armour is Titanium at 12mm thick. Two wheels move the robot at 10mph, and it has one of the lowest wedges in the competition.

            Alex Holt is in Booth #1, and waves to the audience, Michael Cuomo€™s in Booth #2 and is looking very smart, and Antony just looks normal in Booth #3!

            Achilles starts off the quickest and rams into the rear of Invertex, flipping it up, with Invertex quickly self-righting. Aquarius box-rushes Achilles and flips it as well. Alex presses down on the flipper button, and throws himself over Invertex, and Aquarius. Invertex now pushed Aquarius towards the arena wall, too fast for Aquarius to resist, a flip and Aquarius flies through the air and lands on the outside of the arena!

            Result
            Aquarius flipped out the arena. Achilles and Invertex go onwards to Round Two:

            In round one, Y4 was thought to have been outclassed by Flipping Hell and Wedge Devolution, but shocked the crowd when it flipped Flipping Hell, who then self-righted itself and immobilised itself.

            Chris is back in Booth #1, Alex is in Booth #2, waiting to get fighting!

            Both machines storm form the starting squares, and both head for the pit release switch. Achilles reaches it first, and the siren is sounded. PHUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT! Y4 now is behind Achilles, and is pushing it towards the pit. Achilles 4 wheel drive is showing too much resistance, so Y4 flipped it up and started to push it towards the pit. Achilles flipped itself away from peril and turned around to flip Y4 over and over and over. Y4 is then pushed into the horizontal bot shredders, and is spun away. Achilles seems to be dominating the fight, but Y4 charges onto the flipper blade, quickly reverses and Achilles flips. Y4 darts under the open flipper and throws Achilles skywards, darts in again and flips him again, Achilles is up against the arena wall and tries to self-right, but can€™t, so Y4 zips in and Chris presses the flip button, and Achilles is send out!

            Result:
            Achilles dominated the fight, but is out of the arena AND the competition, and Y4 is into the heat final

            Wedge had an easy trip through Round One after Y4 flipped Flipping Hell, and Flipping Hell immobilised itself with it€™s flipper!

            Impressed the audience with the OOTA of Aquarius, after ganging up on Achilles.

            Wedge Devolution, the faster by 3mph, speeds out, and speeds under Invertex. The flipper fires upwards and Invertex is flipped. Wedge Devolution continues to push it, as Invertex self-rights and reverses into the Bot shredders. Wedge come back in on the attack to push and flip away at Invertex, but now Wedge Devolution is flipped, but stylishly self-rights. Wedge pushes again, this time Invertex is sent into the pit release switch, and the pit descends. But now Wedge is spinning around on the spot, and Invertex sees the chance to come it and attacked Wedge Devolution using the flipper well to throw it over with a double somersault. Invertex backs off as Wedge comes back with another attack. Wedge Devolution is now starting to smoke CO2, and Invertex comes in to flip it. Wedge flies through the air several times, but Wedge is able to push it. Invertex is shoved and flipped, and then, for the first time in E.O.T.R, it goes to the judges!!

            Judges Decision:

            Style

            Wedge Devolution had style with its flipper, and so did Invertex. However, Wedge used fast rams and quick recovery from when it was flipped.

            Wedge Devolution: 9
            Invertex: 6

            Control

            Invertex was poorly driven, and never got away from danger. Wedge Devolution on the other hand, used its opportunities well and effectively. Therefore, Wedge was more controlled

            Wedge Devolution: 10
            Invertex: 5

            Strategy

            Wedge€™s plan was to use the arena walls and obstacles to damage Invertex, and this worked a lot. Invertex didn€™t have a strategy, and it didn€™t do well

            Wedge Devolution: 13
            Invertex: 2

            Aggression

            Wedge€™s flips and rams were more frequent than Invertex€™s flips and rams. Invertex was more front-on, but it didn€™t work.

            Wedge Devolution: 13
            Invertex: 2

            Damage

            Invertex suffered damage from the bot shredders, but Wedge Devolution started to smoke and spin around, and this was discovered to be a control malfunction.

            Total

            Wedge Devolution: 49
            Invertex: 26

            Result:

            It€™s a whitewash for Wedge Devolution! Invertex has a faulty cortex, and crashes out of the competition!

            Heat Final

            Y4 VS Wedge Devolution

            Y4 has shocked everyone, first by flipping over Flipping Hell and then Flipping Hell immobilised itself, and it went through with Wedge Devolution, despite going OOTA. In the next round, another shock was in store for us, as Y4 was battered by Achilles, but Y4 placed Achilles in an inescapable position against the sidewalls, and then sent it OOTA!

            Wedge Devolution had an easy ride through round one, letting Y4 immobilise Flipping Hell, and then flipped Y4 OOTA after Flipping Hell was counted out. It started well against Invertex in the last round, but started smoking. It held on long enough to go to the Judges Decision, where Wedge won 49:26!

            Chris is back in Booth #1, and the audience cheers him as the most surprising roboteer in the competition with Y4, and Steven is in Booth #2 and the audience cheers him with the successful Wedge Devolution.

            Wedge charges down Y4, but Y4 is faster and gets away. Wedge keeps the front facing Y4 and isn€™t letting the flipper near it. Then Y4 rushed into the side of Wedge Devolution, getting under the skirts and charging it towards the arena walls, but Wedge Devolution flips itself out of the way, now though, it€™s been shoved into the vertical bot shredders. The base panel has a piece now missing from it. Y4 flips it again, and the batteries fall outwards! Wedge Devolution isn€™t even twitching; Y4 spins on the spot as the audience counts Wedge Devolution out!

              Please welcome the noble war horse that is ForcePower Turbo. This is the most powerful machine in the entire competition, with 2 B42-500 magmotors running on 60V giving this machine the equivalent of 64hp! The armour is tough as well, with the front as 5mm Hardox, Titanium at 5mm for the sides and an aluminium base.

              The first realie entered into this competition, Storm 2 is REALLY tough! A template for all vapourbot rammers, this Lynch powered warrior uses two Lem 130€™s at 36V to give it pushing power of 18hp, not as strong as other vapourbot rammers, but still enough to push you anywhere! It€™s the second fastest in the heat 25mph, and it also has a very powerful lifting arm. Will the raging wind thunder through today€™s heats or will the raging wind become broken wind?

              It€™s easy to guess what Shovearound 2 is designed for! A 12mm Hardox box with 10 lifting forks at the front, capable of lifting 150kg with ease! 4 LEM 130€™s at 48V give a top speed of 28mph, and a load of tyre smoke!

              Storm 2 and Shovearound 2 both thunder towards ForcePower Turbo, Shovearound 2 reaching it first, and using the forks to lever it off the ground, then slam it into the arena sidewalls. Storm 2 pushes Shovearound 2 into the arena wall, but in doing so, flips ForcePower Turbo onto it€™s back! Storm 2 then pushes Shovearound 2 into the bot shredders, but no damage is caused. However, it is flipped, and is pushed again by Storm 2. ForcePower Turbo has rammed itself into the pit release switch, and then into the vertical drum. ForcePower Turbo is righted and lets off after Storm 2. Storm 2 gets underneath the front and pushes it into the side alls of the arena, before lifting it up, and turning it over again. Shovearound 2 comes in again and slams ForcePower Turbo into the arena wall, before they were both pinned by Storm 2. Shovearound 2 then uses its speed and lifting forks to flip it back upright, and then comes to push Storm 2 again, but Storm 2 escapes and pins ForcePower Turbo again. The audience is counting down for another judge€™s decision. The €˜cease€™ is called after ForcePower Turbo finally slams Storm 2.

              ForcePower Turbo only used its wedge to effect, Storm 2 used the hazards and its weapon and Shovearound 2 used its speed and weaponry. Shovearound was more stylish and therefore earns more points

              Strategy

              ForcePower Turbo€™s plan was to shunt everyone around. Shovearound 2 and Storm 2 had the tactic of ramming and flipping ForcePower Turbo then attacking it and another one. ForcePower Turbo didn€™t achieve it; Shovearound 2 had average success, whereas Storm 2 completely controlled the fight.

              ForcePower Turbo only got an attack in at the end, and it was good. But Shovearound 2 only spent time in attacking ForcePower Turbo and Storm 2 whilst they were attacking each other, but it was aggressive. Storm 2 was very nasty and attacked all the time.

              This is the first Matty robot. A 50kg shell spinning at 900rpm is enough to damage and the armours thick to match it. The wheels are good, the teeth are sharp, and can Ripoff Yet Again win its first fight?

              Prepare to go to hospital after Leprosy Infection€™s been in the ring! Chris Mason€™s developed a monster robot, its fast at 18mph, it€™s an invertible box shaped robot with four high traction tyres and has Titanium armour at 7mm thick. To finish it off, it has a 15kg 4000rpm drum with curved teeth to flip and rip opponents.

              Here€™s the first crusher robot in the tournament! CDM is a wedge like robot, nippy at 13mph, armoured in 3.25mm Hardox, armed with a 3000psi crusher with Hardox tips, it also has two Hardox spears at the front to aid in getting under other robots and it can self-right through a pneumatic ram inserted into the arm.

              Steve is Booth #1, eyeing up Chris in Booth #2 and Matty in Booth #3!

              Chris€™s drum starts to spin up to speed. CDM tries to grab hold of Ripoff Yet Again, and succeeded in crushing the top of it. Leprosy Infection pushes CDM and flips it over, and tears the Hardox shell. Ripoff Yet Again is now spinning up to full speed, and crashes into Leprosy Infection, but causes no damage to it. CDM is now clawing Leprosy Infection, attempting to avenge the defeat in the Heat A Final for Wedge Devolution, but the Titanium is resisting well, with only scratches on the shell. Leprosy hits CDM with the drum, and tears six large slices in the Hardox shell, while Ripoff Yet Again struggling to move. Leprosy hit it, and flings it over. CDM comes in to crush the base of Ripoff Yet Again, and slices through it easily. Leprosy Infection comes in again to the smoking Ripoff Yet Again and rips a panel off it, leaving the internals smoking about! In it comes again, this time to use its 18mph top speed to rush it to the arena wall. CDM keeps back, and Ripoff Yet Again is flung over the fence. Clawdius Decimus Murderous and Leprosy Infection spin around, victorious. But suddenly, Leprosy comes out of nowhere, and drives into the claw of CDM at such an angle in such a way, that the hydraulics brake and the claw suffers major damage! Now what? Clawdius comes in, and a side panel is disconnected from the rest of the robot! Cease is called before anymore damage is caused to Clawdius Decimus Murderous. Will the damage be repaired in time?

              Result:
              Ripoff Yet Again has been ripped off yet again, as it€™s flipped and pushed to the arena wall, its guts spewn on the arena floor, its armour in pieces, and it is out of the arena. Leprosy Infection is looking strong, whilst Clawdius Decimus Murderous is looking broken; Steven has work to do to the claw, hydraulics and armour.

              Teamed up on ForcePower Turbo with Storm 2, and despite some valiant efforts from the 64hp monster, and some pins from Storm 2, Shovearound 2 scored 25 points on a JD, not as much as Storm 2, but more than ForcePower, and it was enough to ensure it to go through.

              Leprosy Infection has made a massive impact on this tournament in just one fight! It spilt the guts of Ripoff Yet Again about the arena, flipping it, ripping it, OOTAing it, and causing damage to Clawdius Decimus Murderous

              Antony is feeling confident is Hardox shell will cope with the opponent, and he smiles in Booth #1. Chris is happy about the damage he€™s done, but will Leprosy infect Shovearound 2? Chris thinks he will in Booth #2!

              Shovearound 2 launches away from the starting square, but Leprosy Infection has done the same, and the drum is also spinning. First contact is made. Shovearound 2 bounces upwards into the air and lands on top of Leprosy€™s drum! The side skirt is torn from below, and it also takes a wheel with it! Shovearound is wobbling, a lot! Leprosy Infection comes in to immobilise the other wheels. Shovearound is now only turning right, so Leprosy comes in from the left, flips it up and tears out another wheel. And strikes something else, as Shovearound 2 isn€™t moving. It€™s time for the audience to count it out!

              Leprosy Infection spins, but the audience wants more, so Leprosy comes in again, this time ramming the lifting forks. All ten of them are ripped off! Then Leprosy Infection pushes Shovearound 2 into the horizontal bot shredders, and more damage is caused, as both the rear and right side skirts are torn off. Leprosy hits the sides again, and the batteries and motors are ripped out and land on the arena floor in a number of pieces. Antony yells for his machine to be left alone now, and so it is.

              Result:
              After the fight, a moment of silence is held for Shovearound 2. After the fight, we discover 3 causes of death. The first was the axles jamming onto the chassis to prevent the wheels from turning; the second was the safety link being ripped out. And the third was Leprosy Infection, and it moves on to the Heat Final!

              Steven is worried about the damage done to him, as Clawdius Decimus Murderous is now made up of metal and gaffe-tape. He€™s scared in Booth #1. Ed Hoppit is hoping to repeat his success from round one, he€™s confident in Booth #2.

              Immediately, the taped up Clawdius Decimus Murderous went out and tried to crush Storm 2 tyres, the side skirts of the Robot Wars World Champion kept the wedge from getting underneath, and instead, it got underneath Clawdius Decimus Murderous and slammed it into the walls. And the gaffe-tape snapped! The side armour of CDM fell away and was left laying on the floor, so Storm 2 came in again, and flipped it, and used the arm to keep CDM from self-righting. The claw was bashed into the pit release button, so hard, it bent. Storm 2 then had to let CDM self-right. So it did, and CDM self-righted into the pit!

              Result:
              Clawdius Decimus Murderous joins the Roman warriors that fell before it. Storm 2 thunders into the heat final, where a challenge is awaiting it€¦

              Leprosy Infection has had a highly impressive run through the tournament at the moment, and is the crowd favourite, destroying Ripoff Yet Again with ease and its deadly drum and showed it the way out of the arena. Shovearound 2 was beaten to the arena floor in round two, and ended with the audience wanting more, and they got more, and soon Shovearound 2 was NO more!

              Storm 2 has been charging well through the contest. ForcePower Turbo was flipped about and beaten on a judges decision, Storm 2 went through with Shovearound 2. In Round Two, Clawdius Decimus Murderous would have been a worthy adversary, but the damage Leprosy Infection had caused to it in Round One made it light work, as Storm 2 made it look easy in out pushing, flipping and pitting it.

              Chris already has one robot, Y4, in the semi finals. He hopes Leprosy Infection will join Y4 in the semis, as he smiles away in Booth #1. Ed is slightly worried that Storm 2 might not cope with the force of the robot he€™s up against. He is still smiling though in Booth #2.

              Storm 2 thunders away towards the drum of Leprosy Infection, but gets there before the drum reaches its top speed. Storm 2 pushes it back so hard the whole arena shakes under the force. Leprosy Infection is launched off Storm 2, and finally gets the drum up to speed, and hits Storm 2€™s sides, ripping the 6mm Titanium off. Storm 2 though is pushing again, and is stopping the drum again. This is surprising for the audience, as they were expecting Storm 2 to be in a number of bits by now. Storm 2 now using its lifting arm to jam the spinning drum onto the floor and stop it spinning, charging it towards the pit release, and the €˜PHUUUUUUUTTT!!!!€™ noise is made. It drops Leprosy Infection, and slams it again into the arena walls. Leprosy Infection, once again gets the drum up to speed, and comes in to ram Storm 2 on the front right corner, flipping it up, and tearing away a bit of the Titanium. Storm 2 rams it again, and Leprosy Infection self-rights it. The judges mark on the poor control from Chris Mason in allowing Storm 2 to self-right. And now Storm 2 has flipped Leprosy Infection over. As Chris gets his controls wrong, Storm 2 hits him again, and Leprosy Infection flips himself up, but loses 4 of its 6 teeth on the drum! Also, Storm 2 braces it on its lifting arm, charges it towards the arena side walls, and stacks it there. The wheels of Leprosy Infection are spinning, but there€™s no grip coming from them! Ed Hoppit spins in delight as €˜CEASE€™ is called. But he€™s told a few seconds later, that Leprosy was still mobile, and it goes to the judges. Ed looks gutted, but he€™s cheered by the audience for the performance, as the judges deliver their verdict.

              Style

              Leprosy Infection and Storm 2 showed great style through the use of their weapons. Leprosy Infection used the drum and Storm 2 used its speed to dodge and lifting arm to flip. Storm 2 was more frequent and scores more points.

              Control

              The judges were impressed by Storm 2€™s constantly good control throughout, even though it was flipped and damaged by Leprosy Infections drum, it used Leprosy to flip itself back. Leprosy was out-controlled and pushed a lot, and so is consistently out-judged in this category

              Strategy

              Leprosy Infection plan was to seriously damage Storm 2, and it succeeded completely. Storm 2€™s plan was to finish it off by using the hazards, and then at the end, showed good strategy in stacking Leprosy Infection, and removing some of its teeth. Leprosy Infection was more successful, so scores more points.

              Aggression

              This was Storm 2€™s category. Leprosy was aggressive for the first part of the fight, but then it was shoved about the arena. However the damage done to Storm 2 gives Leprosy a smaller disadvantage than people expect

              Storm 2 had huge problems in this category. True, it did remove nearly all of Leprosy Infection€™s teeth. But in closer inspection, it was discovered that, on Storm 2, the front panels had come loose, and that the chassis was in danger of coming apart on the right. The front right hand-side made of 12mm Titanium is reduced to only 2mm Titanium, and the 6mm Titanium side was completely ripped off.

                In my opinion, I really think that ForcePower would have done more, as hes more powerful and more controlled than Storm 2, and yes, even with that team-up against him. But hey, this isnt my tournament.

                Im guessing you really like Storm 2 then.

                    Can Matty repeat this robots success on the FRF? A high wedge armoured in Bomb-Proof Lexan, 10mm on the sides and back and 13mm on the front. For a weapon it has an axe, powered by an Etek at 60V, producing 1000kg of force, with a pointed point for piercing!

                    The most terrifying realie is here to cause carnage! A tetrahedron Lexan built robot, with a stainless steel front scoop has an axe with a broad-blade, not for piercing, but for whacking! The robot is fast as well at 16mph and is aggressive.

                    This robot is named after the amphibian Axolotl. The robot is built like a big box wedge, moving at 20mph it€™s the fastest in the heat, armed with a powerful axe that never runs out of power.

                    Matty is back and in Booth #1, he hopes to do well in a battle of the axes. John Reid recently won €˜Robots Live!€™ at Burgess Hill with Terrorhurtz, and he€™s in Booth #2. Christopher Mason hasn€™t won anything yet, and he€™s Booth #3.

                    Terrorhurtz starts off by going for the fast Axe-O-Lotl. The Axe Attaxe is also doing the same, so Axe-O-Lotl tries to brake loose from the team-up, and succeeds. Terrorhurtz therefore attacks The Axe Attaxe, and breaks the welds on the polycarbonate armour. The front comes off! The Axe Attaxe front wedge has come away. It is now acting dead. Terrorhurtz meanwhile is pounding onto Axe-O-Lotl. Terrorhurtz pushes it away into the pit release button. Axe-O-Lotl tried to get away, but hang on - The Axe Attaxe is alive! It slams in, and Axe-O-Lotl is bashed into the pit!

                    Result:
                    Axe-O-Lotl is pitted and swims back to the oceans of misery, lapping at the toes of defeat. Terrorhurtz proves its worth, and the lucky The Axe Attaxe.

                    Please enter one of the most powerful flippers in the competition! GeForce is a tall wedge with sloped sides and back, and a nitrogen powered flipper at 100psi to exert a force of 1500kg at the tip of the flipper.

                    This is the Hell Machine, the devil tips his hat to it, and he does for free! This a lethal robot, armoured with armour as hard as a rock, and its shaped like a half cylinder with two scoop, one at the front and the back. For weapons it has a flipper that is front hinged and can flip 600kg, and it also has an axe with a point, that is so powerful it exerts 3000kg of force!

                    Tempest Evil-er-lution is a revolutionary machine (See how long it takes you to get that?)! True, its ring spinner like most other machines and it€™s armoured with Aluminium and Titanium. However, the ring is brilliant, spinning at 2000rpm and giving 125kj of energy is just the start - it deliberately bounces off the other robot to spin up again after it€™s been hit. And the teeth are interchangeable, theres 2cm teeth, 6cm teeth 15cm teeth and 25.5cm teeth!

                    Andrew Jackson is evilly eyeing up the other robots and checking their ground clearance from the safe distance of Booth #1. David Weston is eyeing up Tempest Evil-er-lution, as Frank has beaten him three times before now, and he vows revenge from Booth #2, but notices Tempest has the 15cm teeth. Frank vows for coffee from Booth #3!

                    Tempest instantly starts spinning up, and Hell Machine comes flying in, but Tempest bounces away. GeForce is watching to see if anyone makes a mistake, and Tempest make one - it€™s bounced into the arena wall and has stopped spinning. Hell Machine jams the axe in and pushes Tempest away into GeForce. GeForce flips, but Hell Machine strikes it and pierces the gas bottle! Tempest comes in and tears away the back of Hell Machine. Hell Machine now flips GeForce over and leaves it€¦for dead!

                    Tempest€™s awesome spinner is already rotating, but The Axe Attaxe has come in so fast, it bounces all the way across the arena in the pit release! The spinner has slowed down, so The Axe Attaxe comes in and whacks the top with the axe, but can€™t pierce it, so it just continues to push it, and Tempest is still struggling to spin up again. The Axe Attaxe isn€™t giving it any breathing space and is still pressing onto Tempest Evil-er-lution, not letting it escape. But suddenly, Tempest gets away and spins up to speed. The Axe Attaxe though rams it again, and watches it spin away, and finally, Tempest spins into the pit.

                    Off goes Terrorhurtz, straight away planning to repeat what it did in round one. The Axe Attaxe is running away, but not quick enough for it to avoid Terrorhurtz, and its incoming axe, that smashes through the polycarbonate and it€™s hit something. Terrorhurtz keeps on hitting it, and The Axe Attaxe has stopped. Terrorhurtz starts to cause more damage and pushes it towards the pit, presses the button, and shoves The Axe Attaxe down it.

                    Result:
                    The Axe Attaxe, his bag he need to paxe. Terrorhurtz win the heat and become the third semi finalist!

                      Eye Of The Robot - Series 1

                      This one of Steven€™s most successful vapourbots with success in many tournaments, including VFT 1. Steven has thought about every detail of the design. The robot€™s shape is a box with a wedge at the front, flanked sides and a triangular back that goes to a sharp point. The wheels are driven by 2 motors that generate 4hp each, giving it 8hp. The robot is armoured in 4mm Hardox, and for a weapon, it has a saw mounted along the ground to cut wheels and skirts and the base panels of other robots.

                      Andy comes in with his most viscous entry to date! A 15cm high horizontal cylinder, with a spinning ring around the edge merged with an anti axe/crusher cage. The cage is made of 8mm Hardox, and had 3 Hardox blocks on the hammer, strengthened by three beams of 8mm Hardox. The ring is also 8mm Hardox and spins using a 52hp motor, allowing it to spin at somewhere near the 3500rpm brackets. The robot moves at 15mph and is scary!

                      Chris Mason describes Orka as an €˜all round jack of the trades€™. Shaped like a box that goes up at the rear, Orka is armoured in Titanium, has 6 wheels that give a ton of grip. And for weapons, it has a front lifting scoop that can lift up a bus, and it has a claw to grip as well. For self-righting, it uses a dorsal fin mechanism.

                      Steven looks down from Booth #1. Andy looks down from Booth #2. Chris looks down from Booth #3, as they await their 3 way duel.

                      And they are off! All three of them are fast at 15mph, but Psyclonised starts off first, by attacking and seriously damaging SD IV! As SD IV is spun away, Orka MK.4 lifts and slams Psyclonised into the arena walls, where the drums on the sides tear away a bit at the sides. SD IV tried to push and slice Orka, but couldn€™t, so tried to get revenge on Psyclonised, and pushed it across the arena into the pit release button. Psyclonised spun up and slammed into SD IV, breaking the Hardox side shell. SD IV spun the sword and sliced at Orka MK. 4, who spun SD IV around, grabbed it, lifted it, and rammed it into Psyclonised. The top was battered to the point of breaking off. Orka dropped it, only to find both Pysclonised and SD IV attacking it, and flipping lit, only for us to see the dorsal fin based self-righter working perfectly. Psyclonised is being pushed again by SD IV, but Orka MK.4 comes in and flips Psyclonised over. SD IV soon follows it, as Orka MK.4 flips SD IV over, and pushes it down into the pit release switch. Psyclonised charges at them, and SD IV is launched into the pit.

                      Result:
                      SD IV pitted. Orka MK.4 proves it is still the monster of the big, blue arena, and Psyclonised works on the psyches on the robots they might be facing in Round Two!

                      This has to be the most successful vapourbot on the FRF. EVER! Alex Holt€™s 7th incarnation of this lethal robot is made of 4mm Titanium, and has an anti-spinner frame to deflect fellow FBS€™s. The spinner itself is the full body spinning at a speed high enough to deliver 70-80KJ of energy. The teeth it has are made of 2cm of aluminium, each is 15cm long, and curve sharply upwards to flip over robots with high ground clearances/centres of gravity and rip up robots that don€™t fit in that category.

                      Crusher C.U is here, ready to make everyone come back with camouflage! The robot is an invertible box wedge, with its wedge at an angle of 22* for getting under everyone. The suckers grip everyone on its wedge, and the crushers claw them. The crushers are mounted just behind the wedge, and it the wedge and work like pliers and deliver 6 tonnes at the tips. 17mph and 16hp make this robot hard to push and the armour is 12mm Titanium and 5mm Tungsten steel.

                      Tengu€™s weapon is spinning, as Alex checks from Booth #1. David Weston is checking his weapon as well, in Booth #2. Crusher C.U spins about and Michael Cuomo gives a wave to the audience from Booth #3.

                      Tengu 7 is the fastest and speeds away, as does Crusher C.U, only Crusher C.U is speeding TOWARDS Flaming Hell. Instantly though, the cage deflects Crusher C.U off, but Flaming Hell bounces back and hits the wall and the cage stops spinning. Tengu 7 speeds in, buffeting both robots, ripping a bit of armour off Crusher C.U, but destroying the cage on Flaming Hell! Crusher comes in and grapples the cage, starting to crush through the 3mm Titanium as though it didn€™t exist. Flaming Hell is walloped into Tengu, and more damage has been caused to Flaming Hell. Dave is now yelling €˜Back off! Back off!€ The match is instantly stopped, to prevent irreparable damage being caused to Flaming Hell.

                      Result:
                      Flaming Hell is exactly what Dave is saying as he sees his robot deduced to scraps. Tengu 7 and Crusher C.U go into the next round.

                      Alex and Chris have already fought in Round Two - In heat A, Y4 OOTAed competition favourite Achilles. Alex vows revenge in Booth #1 and Chris hopes to continue in Booth #2.

Orka is now on it straight away trying to keep it down, but Tengu self-rights and speeds up the shell to its maximum revolutionary capacity, and rushes at Orka. Orka once again flips it and Tengu self-rights again, but is suddenly struggling to continue going. Orka is walloped and flipped again, self-rights, and pushes Tengu now towards the pit Release switch. Flipped once again, Tengu is lined-up so it can€™t self-right.

Straight away, the cage pushes them away, but it pushes back, and Crusher C.U gets underneath the cage, pushes it towards the arena walls, and crushes the cage supports. Andy jams onto the controls and drives out of the reach of Crusher C.U. Crusher C.U quickly catches up and grabs Pysclonised again and pushes it. However the cage is still spinning and the front wedge on Crusher C.U is ripped in half, but it€™s not stopping, Pysclonised is pushed into the pit release switch. Psyclonised is dragged back, towards the pit, and finally down.

                      Result:
                      Psyclonised sliced and diced, but pushed and shoved. Crusher C.U goes through to the Heat Final!

                      Orka dominated Round One, where it used Psyclonised to batter SD IV to death before pitting it. It didn€™t quite dominate Round Two, where it received a bunch of cuts and clashes courtesy of Tengu 7, but once Tengu was flipped, and lined up to prevent it from self-righting, Orka ensured a place in the Heat Final.

                      In Round One, Crusher C.U took a bit of damage from both Flaming Hell and Tengu, but once Tengu shattered the spinning cage of Flaming Hell, Crusher C.U could dominate it utterly. Psyclonised also caused it damage, but Crusher C.U kept on pushing it, finally down the pit.

                      Chris already has Y4 in the semis, and hopes from Booth #1 that Orka MK.4 will join him. Michael has been very lucky so far, as he€™s readying up Crusher C.U for the monster whale.

                      And they are off! Orka is the slower by 2mph, and Crusher C.U take immediate advantage of that, getting under the sides and ramming it full on into the arena wall, sucking it to the front, and clawing through the Titanium shell. Crusher then has to back off, and Orka gets under the front, before pushing it backwards. Crusher is flipped onto his back, he is invertible though, but the scoop is inverted. But not for long, as it fires its hydraulic self-righting arm, and charges back on another attack. Crusher C.U comes in, and once again gets underneath the front scoop, and is now crushing it inwards. Orka raises the scoop to break loose but can€™t. Orka is slammed into the pit release button and dragged towards the arena pit, turned around and pushed down the pit. Michael bashes the glass of his Booth in utter joy.

This robot is a cut-off wedge like Steg 2, but instead of a flipping arm, at the front it has a scoop with an extension connected to a really big lifting arm that can flip over 400kg.                         Off speeds NAP3, followed by Wedge Revo and Behemoth. Behemoth€™s straight underneath Wedga Revo and flips it and Wedga self-rights straight away. Wedga Revo looks at Behemoth getting underneath NAP3 and pushing it backwards. Wedga Revo seeks in behind Behemoth, gets the scoop under the ground clearance and we see it launched upwards towards the arena wall, but thankfully lands inside the arena. NAP 3 tries to keep Behemoth down, but Wedga Revo flips it as well. Behemoth finally self-rights and pushes into the rear end of NAP 3, lifting and flipping it over again. NAP 3 slams Behemoth down the ring, but Wedga flips it over again, before Behemoth pushed NAP 3 towards the end of the arena, flipped it on top of the arena wall. Wedga Revo tries to flip Behemoth over, but Behemoth flipped it first. NAP 3 now started to be counted out.

                        Don€™t stop him now, he€™s having a good time€¦ripping robots to bits! Steven McGregor€™s first (and only) Full-Body Spinner is lethal. The fourth generation of Whirligig has a 33.072kg shell, spinning at 2000rpm producing a terrifying 183kj of energy. The shell is also 2cm of Titanium and 9 blades on it. It€™s designed to be a shuffler, and has two pads giving it 15mph!

Richard Southworth€™s first contestant is a shuffling box made of Titanium, armed with a lifting scoop at the front. Once the scoop is raised, a 20kg drum spinning at 2000rpm can attack its opponents. The robot moves at 20mph and its tactics are to push and lifting with the scoop, and to mash with the drum.

                        Steven feels he€™s been holding back for too long, and from Booth #1 he thinks Whirligig 4.0 will unleash carnage. MORD2 is going to give Richard a destructive start as he prepares from Booth #2. And finally, Chris plans to fly them fly and then let them die, from Booth #3, with Die Ceratops ReInvertus.

                        MORD2 is instantly off, being the fastest of all the three robots. He goes off to Die Ceratops, while Whirligig is still spinning up. Whirligig is now up to speed and comes in to attack MORD2. The Titanium was battered to death by the 183kj of force, but still remained on the robot. Die Ceratops has escaped to the side of MORD2, and as MORD2 tried to turn into it, it quickly broke the skirting on MORD2, and flipped it skywards! Whirligig 4.0 is now coming in for another attack on MORD2, and this time attacks the front of MORD2. Whirligig, coming in with it shell at top speed, rips an entire plate off the front of MORD2. Die Ceratops is now underneath Whirligig, and throw it like a frizz bee! MORD2 is now pursuing the flying Whirligig 4.0, and catches it from underneath. Die Ceratops is now suddenly starting fault. Its left hand side is wobbling. Whirligig 4.0 comes over to take complete advantage of this, gets under the rear of the Dinosaur, and tears something out of the bottom. MORD2 comes in to turn Die Ceratops over, and we can see what€™s happened - the rubber on the wheels has been peeled off, and it cannot move. The audience is counting down on the weak and beaten Die Ceratops ReInvertus!

                        In Round One, Andrew Jackson€™s flipper robot started poorly after being flipped over and nearly pitted by Behemoth, it went through after Not Another Pushover 3 was stacked against the sides and left there.

                        These two have fought before in another vapourbot competition called the €˜Fowler Fic Wars€™ 3.1. Although the tournament was cancelled, we were shown the results of what might have happened. Whirligig and Wedga Revo made the final with Wedga getting thrashed at first, but then stacking Whirligig to take the win. Steven vows revenge from Booth #1. Andrew Jackson hopes to make his first Heat Final with Wedga Revo.

                        Whirligig immediately spins, and Wedga Revo moves forwards to try and get underneath. Whirligig isn€™t making the same mistake twice, and reverses off the flipper, and then charges back in to wreak the flipper, ruining the hopes of Wedga stacking it again. Wedga is now trying to push the FBS towards the hazards, but now the armour is buckling under the enormous kJ factor. Whirligig comes in for one last assault on the armour, and charges around Wedga Revo, hitting the armour as it went around it. Wedga Revo was now down to the bare chassis! Whirligig 4.0 let€™s the shell rev down, and let€™s the audience count Wedga out!

Behemoth backs off into the pit release button, so MORD2 gets around the sides and hits it with the drum again. Behemoth then finally gets under the front scoop of MORD2, lifts it and pushes it towards the pit, but Behemoth has driven too fast, and MORD2 is slammed over the pit, and Behemoth falls in!

                        Behemoth flies around the light leading to heaven!
                        MORD2 is a real Master Of Robotic Destruction and goes through!

                        Whirligig 4.0 started the run through the competition by battering the shell on MORD2, and then shredded the tyres on Die Ceratops ReInvertus. It met its old nemesis, Wedga Revo, and then battered it to death.

                        Started in that first Round fight against Whirligig 4.0 and Die Ceratops ReInvertus. It had is Titanium shell battered by Whirligig, and ended up getting a load of air-time, courtesy of Die-Ceratops, but it won when it fought back and survived whereas Die Ceratops ReInvertus had its tyres shredded. In Round Two, it completely dominated over Behemoth, but nearly got pitted! However, Behemoth misjudged, and fell in instead.

                        These two have fought in a one-on-one before. Like Wedga Revo, they met in the €˜Fowler Fic Wars€™ 3.1. MORD2 and Whirligig were in the same heat, where MORD2 shocked the crowd by beating the 3rd seed. But it was battered by Whirligig in the heat final. Steven is confident in Booth #1, but in Booth #2 Richard is smiled about something - he€™s added several sheets of Titanium.

                        MORD2 is attempting to reach Whirligig before it spins. But by the time it gets there, Whirligig is spinning, and MORD2€™s front is crushed inwards, stopping the drum from spinning. The front of MORD2 is now raised to allow the drum to start again. He charges in with the drum, and manages just to tip Whirligig slightly, then charges it into the arena side walls. Whirligig then attacked it again, and ripped the scoop off, and 2 wires came out with it. Richard suddenly realised - the batteries are in the front of the robot, and Whirligig has ripped out the wires. Steven is cheerful, and he powers the shell down to save MORD2 anymore damage.

The armour is Titanium covered in fur to jam up spinners.

                          Michael Cuomo is ready to get fighting with Flux, and get readies his controls from Booth #1. Mega Masher 2 to ready to do, what it€™s designed to do, and Chris Mason€™s going to do it from Booth #2. Tails - a prickly hedgehog. Will Steven be pricklier in Booth #3?

                          Flux is straight off! Tails thrusts in Mega Masher, but can€™t flip it over. Tails suddenly feels Flux shoving it from behind, up the arena, and slams it face first into the pit release button. Mega Masher tries to break the skirts on Flux, but can€™t, and he also gets slammed for his ignorance. Tails now tries a hit-and-run style of tactics, and quickly slices at Mega Masher with its blade. Mega Masher 2 now tries to get under Tails, and succeeds, but can€™t push it as Flux is pushing Tails from the other side, and slams both.                           A relative of the Ripper is here! This Ripper has a rear hinged flipper, that can easily toss another machine OOTA, and 2 rear spinning discs with a speed of 1200rpm. The armour is thick at 3.25mm Hardox, and has 2 wheels delivering 6hp!

                          Here come the angels! This robot is a two layered FBS. The top layer is for defence, and spins at 1000rpm, and this there to deflect over swinging weapons like axe and crushers, and the bottom layer can spin at 2500rpm and can destroy with ease. It€™s a walker and can move at 8mph!

                          Andrew€™s most successful entry gets prepared from Booth #1. Richard Southworth did well in Heat E, can he do well in Booth #2 with Snakebite IV? And Alex Holt has had a bad tournament so far, he hopes in Booth #3 that things can only get better.

                          They are off! Son Of Ripper is going towards Snakebite IV, but Snakebite gets underneath the front of Son Of Ripper, lifting it and flipping it onto its back, and pushing it towards the bot shredders. While this is going on, Archangel Of The Abyss is spinning up both layers of its FBS. It charges at Son Of Ripper, and tears away a bit of the armour. Snakebite IV hits the pit release switch and Archangel Of The Abyss is right on the edge! Son Of Ripper moves in, and the front is shredded, but Archangel Of The Abyss has fallen down the pit!! Shockers! Son Of Ripper then got under Snakebite, flipped it, and then pushed it down the pit to join Archangel Of The Abyss.

                          Snakebite trundles out of its starting square, whereas Flux launches out of it. Flux has the slightly lower edge and charges Snakebite IV into the bot shredders, flicking it upwards. Snakebite IV wedges itself back down to Earth, runs away, but is quickly rammed and shoved about the ring. Richard is having problems, as he can€™t get away to perform his tactics effectively. Flux now is under the rear, driving Snakebite so fast that the camshafts are providing no grip at all, and€¦BANG!! Snakebite goes flying 3ft into the air, and does a triple somersault, as it spins and spins and spins, and lands in the pit! The audience is whooping Flux. What can stop this?

                          Result:
                          Snakebite IV bitten in the heart and pride!
                          Flux is the King Cobra, and earns himself a place in the Heat Final!

                          Tails was given a bunch of painful rams and slams and bashes and crashes, all courtesy of Flux, but won through that tricky first Round Battle when Mega Masher 2€™s blade was stuck into the arena wall.

                          This Hardox all-star box wedge had a bad start after being bashed and thrashed by Snakebite IV and Archangel Of The Abyss, but won after it was rammed into the pit switch, with Archangel€™s leg in the pit, the Son reflected it into the pit.

                          These two fought before in the 5th place battle in the €˜Norman Sheppard Tribute Tournament€™, where after Son Of Ripper had famously beaten the champion (It was seeded #2 at the time) it was beaten to a pulp by the eventful event champion Automatic Schmuck, and similarly, Tails had been famously beating people, but was beaten by Giga-Byte. Lets all get into the E.O.T.R TARDIS, and travel back to this moment:

                          All 4 robots are in the arena, as the 5th place medal is getting ready with the prize money ready for the 5th and 6th placed robots. As the clock lights up above, the traffic lights are on, the red is shining, Ref has his paddle up, as the countdown has began

                          Straight away the power from Tanto 3 is seen, as Matt drives straight towards Drilla Killa 7, as Tails starts to spin it€™s disc, and Son of Ripper starts to drive towards Tails to get revenge for ForcePower Turbo, as Tanto 3 slams into the front wedge of Drilla Killa 7 getting underneath without much troubles before Matt puts on full power, slamming Drilla Killa 7 straight into the arena wall. Drilla Killa 7 bounces away, the rear wedge took the pain, as it has bent inwards. Son of Ripper meanwhile has flipped Tails over and once more, pushing Tails into the path of the Tanto.

                          Drilla Killa 7 comes back, and slams into the side of Tails, as it is a Gang Up on Tails moment, as Son of Ripper flips Tails over, as Tanto 3 puts on full power and slams the inverted Tails straight into the arena wall. Andy, gets the front wedge under Drilla Killa 7, the damaged side from it€™s moment against Automatic Schmuck still visible where the panel has a large scar straight though it, as Son of Ripper flips Drilla Killa 7 upwards, as Tanto 3 rams into the rear of Son of Ripper pushing it into Drilla Killa 7, which is resting against the wall, and Andy fires the flipper, sending Drilla Killa 7 over the fence and down onto the tracks.

                          Tails has opened the pit release, its rear end completely bent from the impact, as Tanto 3, turns and at once is underneath Tails€™ front and has started to push Tails towards the arena wall once more. Son of Ripper turns and gives chase to Tanto 3 as it slams Tails into the wall, making it jump around, before resting on its side, and falling down onto the flipper. Son of Ripper rams into Tails, pushing it around, and giving the rear end a good hit by the rear disc, as Tails starts to leak co2, in a cloud. Tanto 3 slams into the front end of Son of Ripper, and it goes up the wedge. Andy has a smile upon his face, as Tails is counted out by Ref. A sad end for such a comedy robot.

                          Tanto 3 is flipped quickly over the arena wall, by Son of Ripper, as Andy turns around, as the red card is shown at Tails, as in a twist, Steve€™s robot has survived just long enough to claim 6th. There is no question who gets 5th though.

                          Cease

                          Son of Ripper flips Drilla Killa 7 and Tanto 3 over the fence rips out the heart of Tails, to take the 5th place medal.

                          Steven wants revenge and vows for it in Booth #1. Andrew Jackson hopes from Booth #2 that his beloved Son Of Ripper will make his first Heat Final.

                          Tails gets his blade spinning before the Son gets moving. The Son moves forwards, and the fronts of both robots meat, and a struggle starts to see who€™s lower to the floor. It€™s Son Of Ripper who€™s lower, and it throws Tails up, but the blade keeps Tails upright. The Son now plans on using his spinning discs at the rear, but Tails is now using his flipper, and throws the Son over, and is now pressing onto it, keeping it down, before Son Of Ripper turns around and hits it away with the discs, allowing Son Of Ripper to self-right. Tails comes in from the sides, pushes it and flips it a full 360*. The Son then quickly get€™s underneath Tails and pushes it towards the arena wall. A quick flip from the flipper sends Tails crashing to the floor outside of the arena.

                          Result:
                          Tails becomes yet another victim of Fox Hunting!
                          Son Of Ripper 4 was the hunter, and he€™s earns himself a place in the Heat Final!

                          In Round One, Mega Masher 2 was mashed by Flux ramming it about too much. Flux went through with Tails, and even gave Tails a few slams. Snakebite IV was shoved about completely then was rammed so hard that it flew through the air and landed in the pit!

                          Michael is preparing to continue the run he€™s had all through the heat, and he€™s in Booth #1. This is Andrew€™s first heat final of the competition. Can be get further than that, from Booth #2?

                          Flux speeds out using its much greater top speed. It gets under the front of Son Of Ripper. The discs at the back touch the floor, and spin Son Of Ripper around to allow Flux to charge it flipper first into the bot shredders. No damage is caused, but when the Son tries to flip Flux, Flux hits it again, and busts the pneumatic gas pipes, leaving the flipper stuck open! Flux gets round the sides, and is charging at full speed into the and€¦BANG! Son Of Ripper€™s rear discs aren€™t spinning anymore - the axle has been broken! Flux rams the Son into the pit release switch, reverses and Son Of Ripper falls into the pit!

                          Result:
                          Son Of Ripper 4 is now no more than blood and gore!
                          Flux batters its way to the semi finals!

                            Tornado by name, Tornado by nature! This robot is a small box with 4 motors in it which are powerful enough to give it 7hp! The robot has 4 wheel drive, grippy tyres - the robot only does 10mph (so the team say!) but it is very fast and agile, and it has interchangeable weapon - a 7kg 2500rpm drum, a 15kg steel scoop, an anti-axe/crusher frame, and a long Hardox spike!

                            A super-scooper is this bot! A box shape, with a good lifting shovel at the front, and really powerful motors to give this robot extra power. The tyres are bigger at the front than they are at the back, which means it can have twice as much traction than wheels which are all the same size. For armour, don€™t try to damage this robot, as the overall thickness of Hardox on this robot is 51mm! Tough!!

                            This Drilla that can Killa is as scary as Godzilla! A double wedge box with a drill inserted into each wedge spinning at 600rpm, not enough to get through armours like Titanium and Hardox, but it€™ll go through tyres with ease! The top speed of this bot is 17mph, and it€™s 4 wheel drive!

                            Tornado has the Hardox spike on to allow it to push other robots without fully touching. Up in Booth #1, Andrew, the driver is going to hope it€™s going to work. Alex has had a seriously bad competition, can Baldur Gamma do better? The controls are picked up in Booth #2. Richard Southworth has been doing alright; he€™s in Booth #3.

                            Both Baldur and Drilla Killa at 17mph got off faster, but Tornado came out and pushed into the sides of Baldur Gamma, driving sideward into the arena wall. Drilla Killa got under the rear of Tornado and aimed for the wheels using the drill, but instead drilled at the rock hard underbelly, not even scratching it! Tornado backed off Baldur, and let Baldur come at it. Alex raised the scoop, but he did it too early and therefore, Tornado and Drilla KIlla 7 got under it and pinned it against the drums! Alex is groaning as his robot is pushed into the drums, but the Hardox is surviving well enough. Baldur is bashing left and right like a trapped insect struggling for life. And it succeeded in forcing away Tornado, and Baldur pushed Tornado backwards a bit. Drilla Killa 7 came and finally pushed underneath Baldur Gamma from the rear. Tornado tapped the pit release button. The siren sounded, but Baldur was shoving Drilla Killa 7 too quickly, and the Killa went over the pit, and Baldur fell through!

                            Result:
                            Baldur Gamma needs to be Beta - go back to step Alpha.
                            Tornado whips up a storm and Drilla Killa whirls into Round Two!

                            Named after a roller coaster from Christopher Mason€™s imagination, Obliteration hopes to give a scream of a performance! An invertible full bodied spinner, that can spin at 500rpm, and is very much capable of battering another robot to death. The armour is 7mm Titanium, and it can move to a top speed of 5mph!

                            Prepare to die, by the Killotine! A red box wedge shaped machine, which has 4 inner wheels, with skirts on the sides and back to prevent flippers getting underneath. The armour on top and bottom is Bomb-Proof Lexan at 15mm thick, and the front, rear and sides are 3.25mm of Hardox. The drive motors are strong enough to give it 18hp, and it€™s very controllable at 16mph top speed, Killotine: EVO is one of the favourites for the competition!

                            There€™s going to be a Flippa Frenzay! A low wedge shape with side and rear wedges with skirts to protect it against flippers, but it can flip 1000kg with its awesome flipper, and it can push with 15mph and 2hp!

                            In Booth # 1, Christopher Mason is getting ready to obliterate some robots. In Booth #2, Steven McGregor is getting ready to execute some robots. And in Booth #3, Matt McDonald is going to give robots some air-time!

                            Straight away, Obliteration is starting to whirl. Killotine: EVO heads towards Flippa Frenzay, and drives into it. Killotine: EVO slices the axe down, but Matt€™s machine has the lower front edge, and Killotine is flipped onto its back. Obliteration has spun up and is moving towards the inverted Killotine, the in an amazing feat of style and control, the axe slams into the floor, and Killotine does a double roll to land on its wheels again. Flippa Frenzay comes into the sides but this time, Killotine: EVO bashes underneath, and brings the axe down onto the Titanium body of Flippa Frenzay! Obliteration is still struggling to reach the struggle between Killotine and Flippa Frenzay, and finally reaches it, but the damage caused is insignificant. Killotine pushes Obliteration into the arena wall, and hacks down upon the tyres on Obliteration, puncturing them and bending in the Titanium shell, making a pepper pot out of the shell! Flippa Frenzay throws Killotine: EVO again, but this time, the axe flicks in back as soon as it hits the ground. Flippa Frenzay now decides to attack Obliteration, gets underneath, and is pushing it towards the arena wall, and FLIP! Obliteration lands outside of the arena!

                            Result:
                            Obliteration is obliterated!
                            Flippa Frenzay and Killotine: EVO have executed it, and go through to Round Two!

Killotine then swerves around and buries the axe into the Titanium front scoop of its nemesis. The power of Killotine: EVO means it can push Drilla Killa into the pit release switch. Drilla Killa is now pushing it back! Killotine is on the edge of the pit, teetering€¦but now, Steven slams the axe back, drags himself on top of Rich€™s robot! As Drilla Killa tried to charge Steve down the pit, Killotine lunged on top, and both fell in!

                            Result:
                            This is a first - both machines fell down the pit. But Drilla Killa 7 fell in first!

Tornado launched behind it, and pushes it into the arena wall, in a position from which it cannot self-right. Matt is looking gutted, this fight is over so quickly, but Tornado spins!

In the following Round, it looked all over for Steve, as Drilla Killa had him on the ropes, but he saved himself, and survived Drilla Killa€™s shove towards the pit.

                            Straight away, Tornado is starting to spin the disc as Killotine comes out. Killotine plans a run to capture and clamp Tornado, but Andrew isn€™t that stupid, and he swerves away to avoid the attack, and the pushes into the sides of Killotine, but that blade isn€™t doing anything to the sides. So Andrew just puts the power down, and pushes him towards the arena wall. Killotine: EVO doesn€™t plan on making the same mistake twice, and rams into Tornado with the rear of the robot. Tornado swerves, but Killotine: EVO has caught it on its front! Given it has twice the power of Tornado, it rams it backwards into the arena wall, and batters the top of it with its axe blade, the axe piercing the steel and Titanium like butter! Tornado is struggling to get out, but Killotine loosens its hold. Tornado now followed Killotine, as it went to the pit release button. Killotine rams it too hard and too fast, and it leaped up and the back. Tornado goes in the underneath! Tornado is backing Killotine towards the pit - this could be a major upset! But Killotine€™s wheels are now gripping the top of Tornado, and drives off! Steven mops his brow, and he bashes under Tornado for a second time, clamps with the axe, and Tornado is driven into the pit!

                            Result:
                            Tornado goes from raging wind to broken wind!
                            Killotine: EVO is going to draw blood in the semis!

                              Feel the force of Gravity! A two wheel drive narrow wedge shape, with an awesome flipper capable of flipping 100kg 5ft into the air! The armour is 5mm polycarbonate, and it€™s 2 x 750w motors give a top speed of 10mph!

                              SNDOS is ready to bash and crash, and dash and mash! A two wheeled box-shaped invertible with rounded sides and rear. This already doesn€™t sound like a robot to be feared, but it is - 4mm Hardox armour all around, and it also has for a weapon, a massive flywheel, weighting 25kg and spinning at 3000rpm! It can also move at 12mph, and it can push well!

                              They€™re back, ready to flame through another competition! Firestorm is a simple structure, but it is also tough. Two wheeled with 3hp, aluminium armour at 9mm thick, strong enough to withstand blows from some flywheels, and a lethal front hinged flipper, capable of flipping 170kg on the top of the arm. It moves at 12mph and is very agile!

                              Hoping to give a flipping good performance from Booth #1, is WJ! Richard is going to mash its enemies from Booth #2! And Graham is prepared to roast the opposition from Booth #3!

                              Away they all speed, and Firestorm heads for SNDOS, while Gravity heads for Firestorm! SNDOS dodges Firestorm€™s first charges and lets Gravity throw Firestorm over, before battering the rear of Gravity with its disc! Firestorm lands on its wheels, and plans on charging into the front of Gravity! Firestorm€™s front is low enough to smash past the flipper and push Gravity across the arena with good power and control, and the judges note this. Gravity brakes way and rams into SNDOS, but SNDOS turns into it, and the flipper nearly brakes off because of that charge! SNDOS now turns around, and backs onto Gravity, and batters it into the pit release switch - and now Firestorm dashes into the deadlock, and rams both machines away! Gravity flips itself back, and now box rushes Firestorm, and flicks it so high and so far! Firestorm lands upside-down. It self-rights, but SNDOS charges in and rips a sheet of aluminium off the left side of Firestorm! Graham is flabbergasted at the damage done to his machine! Richard is shocked as well, and WJ uses this opportunity to flip SNDOS. Gravity, all of a sudden is now moving on one wheel, and now SNDOS comes in, and rips off the armour surrounding all of it! The motor on the left seems to have come loose, as we can see wires missing. WJ looks now in horror, as Rich charges in, and the wheels are ripped right off! WJ is surrendering!

                              A cyclonic force is about to strike! Chris has designed, from his imagination, a Storm 2 clone, with has polycarbonate armour to ensure nothing will get through, AND a variety of weapons to choose from, ranging from 2 30cm spikes, a 20kg 3000rpm spinning disc, a Storm 2 style lifting arm, a pair of pincers and a standard wedge. This machine is the fastest in the heat and 25mph, and it has 18hp driving it!

                              This robot has no bark, but plenty of Byte! A U shaped robot, which works like a full body grabber, moving at 20mph, and using 18hp as the power, armoured in 7mm Hardox, and it has 2 wheels!

                              Terra just got a Turbo! A 25cm high cylinder with 16 curved Tungsten steel teeth mounted on a 60kg spinning shell, with a maximum revolution speed of 2300rpm, giving 426kj of force! Terra-ble! And it€™s reasonably fast as well at 14mph! The shell is also very thick, it€™s 12mm of Titanium and 12mm of Hardox! Try getting into that!

                              Chris has had reasonable success so far, he in Booth #1 - hoping his Storm 2 clone can continue it - arming it with the pincers. Andrew hasn€™t done quite so well, but in Booth #2, can Giga-Byte change all that? Michael has been blasting through the competition, and Turbo Terra is going to be expected to do well, and Michael bets he will, as he looks down from Booth #3!

                              Cyclone Force is the fastest robot out there, and he speeds off into Giga-Byte, while Giga-Byte dashes to Turbo Terra. The terra hasn€™t managed to spin up yet, so when Giga-Byte reaches it, all it does is deflect it. Cyclone Force rams Giga-Byte from the right side, and pushes both it and Turbo Terra sideways, towards the pit release switch. Giga-Byte now has to let go, but Cyclone Force is immediately on it, as Chris now that if it spins up, his machine will be destroyed. Giga-Byte touches the release button, and is watching Turbo Terra being pushed about the arena, finally towards the pit now, and Turbo Terra is on the edge, and€¦THUD! The terra is out!!

                              Chris was fearful of losing in Round One by being destroyed by Turbo Terra, so rushed about, hitting anything it could, before Giga-Byte touched the pit release button, and Chris put Turbo Terra in.

                              In a thrilling Round One battle, SNDOS entered the ring with Firestorm 5 and Gravity. A series of rams and flips, disking and flipping, Gravity nearly through Firestorm out the arena, but SNDOS ripped the shell off and immobilized the wheels of Gravity.

                              Chris is getting ready to rumble with Cyclone Force€™s 30kg 3000rpm spinning disc. He€™s in Booth #1, eyeing up Richard in Booth #2.

                              Cyclone Force 2.5 once again is much faster, and is spinning the blade up to 3000rpm. SNDOS is much slower, but has the more powerful weapon, and he€™s also spun up to full speed. Cyclone Force charges, but the more controlled SNDOS dodges with the greatest of ease, and hits the side. A large 2 inch wide gap has opened in the side of Cyclone Force. Chris whacks Richard€™s robot on the side with the disc, but little damage is caused. SNDOS is now attacking the disc of Cyclone Force, and rams in with the blade, and the disc on SNDOS tears the teeth off Cyclone Force€™s disc! Chris now reverses onto SNDOS, but Richard also hits the rear with the disc! Chris is starting to get worried about what to do. He presses the pit release switch, and drives towards SNDOS. He rams the disc. Richard is now looking in utter amazement - his blade has stopped rotating! The wires have come loose! But Chris isn€™t moving. He€™s petrified - his robot isn€™t even twitching, and now, SNDOS becomes rammer-like, and charges Chris€™s robot into the pit!

                              Result:
                              Cyclone Force 2.5 is too strong for its own good!
                              SNDOS slices and dices into the Heat Final!

                              Tried to pit Turbo Terra in Round One, but Cyclone Force shoved both of them about before Cyclone Force pitted the Terra.

                              Got off to a shaky start in the first round, when it was almost flipped OOTA by Gravity and had its side ripped off by SNDOS, but it survived when it self-righted, stayed out of trouble, and SNDOS gutted Gravity.
                              In Round #1, Andrew is going to give it some Byte, and in Booth #2, Firestorm 5 will be burning with Graham at the controls.

                              Giga-Byte is the much faster robot, but Firestorm is also quick. On the first contact, Firestorm is in underneath, but Giga-Byte still has the wheels on the ground, and is driving Firestorm into the bot shredders. They bounce around, and Firestorm throws Giga-Byte away from it. Giga-Byte turns back to it and tries to shove it again, but Firestorm is under the rear of it, and is using the flipper arm into push it towards the bot shredders. Giga-Byte gets thrown upwards and Firestorm reverses in time to have Giga-Byte on its wedge, and pushes in onto the pit. He speeds off just fast enough to open the pit, but Giga-Byte has already got away! Firestorm is ready to give pursuit, but it stands in front of the pit and waits for Giga-Byte to charge inwards and pit it! Andrew does this, but he drives over the top, and dives into the pit!

                              In Round One, a brutal battle resulted in Firestorm being almost flipped OOTA by Gravity, and SNDOS wrecking the side of Firestorm, and gutting Gravity, leaving it immobilized. In Round Two, Cyclone Force tried its best, and removed the teeth of SNDOS, but lost its safety link, and SNDOS ran it into the pit.

                              Stared in that first round with SNDOS and Gravity, and got through that, despite having its panel ripped off the side. Giga-Byte is a fast and agile pusher, but not fast or agile enough, as Firestorm pitted it.

                              Richard is looking for his first semi-finalist and he€™s in Booth #1. Graham is hoping he can put his RW success into the E.O.T.R. And he€™s in Booth #2.

                              They are both equally as fast as each other, but SNDOS has more grip, and is off first. They bash into each others fronts, and Firestorm is lower, and flips SNDOS over, but SNDOS is invertible and spins the disc. Once the blade is spun up, they ram each other again, and this time, Firestorm€™s flipper is torn into several pieces. Firestorm goes off to hit the pit release switch with SNDOS following it. Firestorm serves off, and gets under the rear of SNDOS and pushes it into the arena wall. The judges notice this good style of tactics in getting underneath SNDOS. SNDOS escapes and hits Firestorm again, and this time, flipping it! The damage to the flipper means Firestorm can€™t self-right!
