Soooo, I just got my quote from K-cut and well... How much?! Only kidding I did think it would going to be around £200, £190 to be exact.

Time to save some pocket money.

So, there is a work around to my CAD issue. Sam Griffin AKA Sam_DRT was kind enough to test if he could convert the parts to DXF if I export them as a different file. Thanks again for doing that Sam. And through that test Sam did actually make it possible although he only tried it with one part. But by chance I discovered I had a 2D software that can read DXF and export DXF files. Using this software I was able to replicate the other parts from my Maya file in 2D and put them together with the DXF of the base plate.

My experience with Maya (working in animation studio) you should be able to export a file and use some software to change it.
If you want to, send me the maya project file and i can try and export it to something useful.

Send me an email - npoate (hat) hot mail (dotty) com send it via weTransfer and i can take a look
    Nat

I'll see what I can do but it's looking like I'm not going to get anymore progress.

I wouldn't recommend using Maya for CAD anyway, its an animation and modelling package rather than engineering, I recommend trying Inventor or Fusion360
