      • full test of no toy today, not good the caldercraft low rpm high torque speed 900 motors are gut less, running 6s twin motors the axe is slower then before its terrible, complete redesign required or genuine speed 900s pos. but the rest all works well and looks a lot more solid. may have to use the mfa motors from before and just overvolt them but I am tight on weight again

        • That sucks No Toy was looking good, hope you can sort something out

          • Does the axe seem to have plenty of power but just slow? If so you could reduce the size of the sprockets on the axe or increase the size of the sprockets on the motors.
Or if it seems to lack power you could try the reverse (increase sprocket size in axe) which could speed it up if the motors where under too much strain as they want to run at a higher rpm.
Other idea is shove a powerful brushless motor in there, but not sure how well that will go either.

            • It's a shame you don't have the space/weight for a scooter motor, they seem to work quite well

              • really lacking power they are low rpm motors but really struggle to get the axe to move it would need a large ratio change from 7:1 ish know to 21:1 ish I used to rum with mfa 4:1 epicyclic geartrain

                • What about the mfa 800/850 motors? They seem pretty powerful

                  • would also require a 2 stage gear reduction, its the axe weight that causes the problem just over3.2kg

                    Comment

                    • Wow really? It doesn't look that heavy, that's over double what mine weighs and I was worried about the weight of that. Seems a second stage reduction is the only viable option although you might need more powerful motors

                      • Did you measure the amp draw?

                        Comment

                        • No but couldn't have been alot as it feed though a 30amp fuse

                          Comment

                          • 6S 30A= WAY below the capacity of a real speed 900 or even the clones.

Kashei fries the PCB's of the motorcontroler, and that's normaly able to cope with 100A+, with 1 speed 900 (what fries too on a regular base)

                            • Its running of an 30amp electronize unit, I wonder if they have current limiting ie, bridge bypass,or resistor bypass, might hook them upto the tz85 to try them again on 6s

                              Comment

                              • The electronizes don't have any way of current limiting. If you overload them to much, the relais will pop, and if those fuze, the fets will go.

Testing it with a TZ85 is an option. But I suggest a 100A fast fuse then.
