Made a GIF of Loki's close call with the pit in Newport. Should probably say it's from Jarvis' video

There's been a little bit of progress with Loki recently. I've made connectors to upgrade to 4 WD, lots of CADding to try and rejig everything to accomodate the extra motors and wheels and also bought an LED strip

      I'm using these: http://www.giantshark.co.uk/product/...ip--green-1mtr

They're 12V but running on 19.6V but seem work okay apart from getting quite warm .

Also in the process of making my own wheels, progress so far: four wonky wheels :P

They're always gonna be wonky if you're doing anything like we did, it's inevitable! Unless you have a lathe to get the job perfectly aligned, wonky may have to do.

        Gives it character, I reckon.

Quick update, I have upgraded Loki to four wheel drive now and now it can drive in a straight line! The back is slanted now so it can reverse off of wedges. The sides will be angled when I get round to making them. Still made of wood until I'm happy with the design .

Cool! Some closeup pics of those wheels would be nice, they look almost identical!

Look forward to whatever happens next.

Here you go Ellis. They do look very similar. We should be very evenly matched transmission wise apart from my wheels are 85mm. I worked out the reason the wheels were coming out wonky originally, it was because the blowtorch was naff and wasn't getting the nut hot enough so I had to use more force to get it through the nylon and everything was becoming misaligned. All sorted now though

Been a while since I updated this so here's some photos of how Loki currently looks. Nearly finished now, very pleased with how it's gone and very excited for the champs

still needs to be welded, being held together with tape at the moment!

Very solid looking machine! What armour are you using, steel? I bet that's going to be a tough one to get through!
Again, I like the shape too, something pretty different

                                Thanks guys

I wish I had the weight for steel, it's 3mm aluminium, probably not adequate but I have weight and money restrictions lol.

Should make an interesting fight with a spinner
