    • It seems to me that you need 3m not 2m:
      2x 40cm rings each 120cm long = 240cm
      10x 3cm uprights = 30cm
      Total is 270, allow 5mm for each cut to square both ends off = 6cm
      Total of 276cm so best to order 3m not 2

          Worst case scenario you'll sell the surplus for £5, and put £5 in your pocket.

            I wouldn't attempt to bend it myself without the correct bender for square tubing, most probably it'll collapse, more so if its a thin walled section. But you could find a pipe bending shop in your area and they'll do the job for you, probably you won't even need to buy the material as they will have themselves.
            It will be neater than if you try to cut/weld it to shape and saves you a lot of sweat!
            ps. I dont know the local costs involved tho!

              Shred works!!!
              I did some programming yesterday and it seems a lot easier than I thought it would be. I will be working on the translation program soon, but at the moment, it just spins for a couple of seconds. Will upload a video soon, but wish to talk about something that happened alot during testing. After 5 seconds of spin time, the Banebots wheels would fall off the robot and go bouncing around the kitchen floor, because the grub screws came loose very easily. Would a threadlock or someting stop this from happening?

              • Thread lock should help, also you should drill slightly into the shaft, where the grubscrews touches it, to make a dimple which the grubscrew goes into to stop it spinning or comming off. Do you understand what I mean?

                • Yes Max, I do understand what you mean and I have filed a flat on the motor shaft about half way down, so there is less of a chance of it coming off.
                  Was going to do a test video today, but battery's gone flat . I'm also going to get another battery, but this one has 2000mAh, compared to just 700mAh in the old one, and a switch so I don't have to keep unplugging the tough tamiya connector .
                  By the way, the robot called Cookie Cutter in my profile is my antweight spinner robot, except it only uses one motor to drive it. It is only 3inches in diameter and 1inch high. See pictures below:

                      The wheels seem to stay on longer now I have cut a flat across the grub screw, so can tighten it more. Switch has been added - a 10amp @ 250v 2-way toggle switch - seems a bit overkill, but 'better safe than sorry'. http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9c1538ee.jpg

                      Did a brief test run off some AA's and seems to run pretty well

                      Bought 2 100mm diameter castor wheels from Clas Ohlson. http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...ps326f8f58.jpg
                      Will use 4inch Colson Performa wheels for competition, but these should do for now. Drawn up a 1/2 scale diagram of Pizza Cutter, and all looks like it will fit. Will upload more pics soon.

                          • Well, when I say 300rpm, I don't know for sure. I'll know for sure when I fit the accelerometer. To fit said accelerometer, I will use a modified version of a J2O bottle lid.

                            I'll cut some foam to fit the inside of the lid, then put the accelerometer in with the wires all soldered, and zip-tie it all down.

                            • How are these for batteries? I'll use 2 of these 3 cell packs to get 22.2v, and 8000mah. Anyone got any experience of these?
