Thanks for the replies, i will get some of those motors soon. Anyone got it's dimentions, as i will probrably have to make the base plate bigger for 2 of the motors. Archie i have a suggestion for a very powerful brushless motor:http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalo...0/HK_7050_340/

        Re: Pulverizer Build Diary

I'm not sure why you would ask me but ok.
that motor seemed quite bit costly and overpowerfull.
why don't you try hobby king and search hy outrunner weight.
they have motors less than 200kv
I think the more winds you put into a motor the more tourque it has so more winds = more weight
I think that's why heavier motors have lower rpm (usually)

Thanks, i will find a suitable battery soon. Should i make my base bigger as the Dewalt 24v motor looked quite big in NST, which itself is quite big?

Patience, the majority of regular forum users are probably at the Portsmouth event this weekend so won't have much access to the forum and as such, replies won't be forthcoming quickly. However for reference, both sections of the motor are on the RMP, with dimensions listed:

                    Gearbox: http://www.robotmarketplace.com/product ... 74-00.html

Thanks for the reply, i understand what you mean. I have noticed that on gearbox webpage, it said that item had been discontinued. Should i make my own gearboxes or try to order that one even though none are in stock.

                        Re: Pulverizer Build Diary

Archie, what hardness/durometer are those red wheels? Also, if my robot is 70mm tall then should i use 75mm robochallenge wheels or 100mm ones?

                          Re: Pulverizer Build Diary

I have absolutley no idea about the hardness so your best asking robochallange.
Im sure you could cut all the rubbber off the wheels and stick some bike tread on them that would make them less than 70mm but its a waste of wheels.
In future you can try just pressing the pm button on who you wants profile.
Private messaging is a much better way of getting the answer quicker.
Just so you know for future

                            Re: Pulverizer Build Diary

I would go for 100mm wheels or 75mm wheels with bike tread screwed ok around the outside to bring it up to about 82mm

Thanks for the replies, i will use 100mm wheels. Here is a picture of a foam and cardboard prototype for the layout of the machine. The main circle is 25cm in diameter. If you see anythings that need changing, then please tell me before i progress further.

Seems rather small. Also where are the batteries supposed to go?
