Won't know until tomorrow at the event whether it works or not, if I can scrounge an rx from someone it should. Bin bags may be necessary for me, it may well explode.

You're welcome to one of my naff spare radio link rx's. I dunno if it will work with which ever specific tx you have.

Yeah no worries. I kept cooking them in my antweight till I realised I was wiring the power in wrong. So I have a stack of them lol. Bringing everything with me in the morning so will come and say hi. Will be the sweaty looking one with trackies and a hoodie on lol. So can't be bothered having a shower at half 5 in the morning when I need to set off!

stick a weight on a bit of cable and with that spin speed it will make a very nice flail type weapon and it wont be that complicated to do

I took a couple of pictures so thought I'd stick them up. Robot ran well in it's one fight and took a battering and was running at the end of the bout so it's been a huge confidence boost. Starting building Rancid 2 last night based on a completely ally body properly fabricated (ish) with decent wheels and new electronics. Took the day as a huge learning curve looking at all the other robots and had a fantastic time. Wanted to say a big thank you to limpet, Will and john_frizell for chatting to me and being friendly Am eagerly awaiting sign ups for the next event and think I may become a regular at the iron games

Built a new beetle, Rancid 2. 1000rpm gearmotors, 60mm wheels, new tiny 12V pack and the trusty sabertooth. Just need an event now lol.

all fear the box..... how does it drive ?

I got an email from Kinematic Events saying they had no interest from the other beetle builders so we're only doing pay to drive at Bromsgrove.

It drives really nice with the esc sensitivity turned down and the smaller wheels. Bought some proper motor brackets so it tracks a lot better. Also tried copying unmakerbot's driver style n it's spot on.
