  • Team Jamsandwich Build Diary

Hello all just starting this Build Diary for my current and future robot's and hope this will serve as a somewhat guide one day.

    Team Jamsandwich

Yeah a random name for a team, well it's just me in the team so i don't know if you can it a team.

    The robot

The name: when naming the robot i like to give them deep meanings to them so i named it Rukia. (female name) It mean's flower of regret or the Italian pronounciation for Lucia, meaning light.

    I'm making a invertible rambot.

Drive: I have two speed 900's i like to over volt them to 18v or 24v my worry is they may make Rukia too fast to control and I'm making my on gearbox.

chassis: made of steel hope to build it strong.

    speed controller: two Victor 883's.

    armor: 4mm or 5mm hardox.

weapon: speed and strength and 7mm hardox ramming shield i bet it's too heavy.

Radio gear: DX5e or DX7 i hear the DX6i is a bit dodgy.

at the moment it's just getting the part's together and finding some wide wheels.

          update

Just did a drawing of the layout and chassis on cardboard just to get an idea. At the moment it's 18mm long and 12mm wide of course this is just an idea so it may become smaller or larger. Two problem's the battery's are heavy 1kg i think and there's nothing on the front to weighting it down so i may need to put a motor powered weapon like a disc dum like tornado or something else.

Battery packs are easy to make. Big enough soldering iron and the job does itself.

                              Update

Now i have just build a cardboard model of Rukia just to get an idea of it's size. Now she is 17.4 inches long, 13 inches wide and 2.8 inches tall but when it come's to the final build it will be a Little bigger probably by millimetres. By this time i think the wheel's need to be 4 or 5 inches and the weapon i just decided to go for the drum disc it's the only weapon that i can think of to weighting down the front and work upside down. The thing is i don't have equipment to make one and i don't know were or who can make one for me and i need a smaller but powerful motor.

Thing i still need to do

Still need to think how thick the steel bars are going to be the chassis is build like a cage and how to Mount the wheel's.
