  • Little spinner 4 upgrades

Upgraded with a new 6.54kg disc/bar and fixed several reliability probs as well and added 1 magnet next to each wheel so it can spin up fast without the inside spinning(hopefully). Total weight 13.615 at the moment so 15g to loose somewhere. Also fitted a new speed controller for the scorpion (Kontronik jive 120+HV).

    Very nice
When you changed to the bar I thought that it just spun itself; only realised now that it's attached to the shell and the whole lot still spins.

It can spin in either direction but not during a fight, it has to be programmed before so i have to choose carefully.

Those blocks look more like blunt impacts than tearing teeth. Is that on purpose or do you have points to go on it ?

they have sharp edges but as hardox is too tough to cut its really a rotory hammer so you need very good shock protection.

very megabyte in design, looks similar to a lot of their machines, in which case it should be very impressive!

                looking good guys!

How come you went for the jive esc over the castle creations?

Look forward to fighting it...teeth impact of LS4+ 360 could make a little sonic boom lol...and a lot of mess

The jive is smaller and shock resistant and with an extra heatsink which i have fitted doubles the continous current rating and it has a built in 5A BEC. Dont know how reliable it is yet but i have got the old controller as a spare which is held together by glue, tape and cable ties now as it got too hot and melted the heatshrink off which held it together and the heatsinks fell off but it still works just.

cant believe that little esc kept going... mine usually get bored after 2 fights and decide to kill them selfs lol

what drive esc are you using? Did you find you had any problems with the drive controller after fitting the magnets? Mines having some issues..

                      Re: Little spinner 4 upgrades

Using a scorpion xl on 4cell, no problems driving as the gear ratio is quite low and the magnets arent that big(23.2kg pull each)and are 6mm from the floor but they do help. Had to take off the connector blocks and solder the wires direct becuase when testing one snapped off after a big hit.

'The terminal block snapped after one big hit'

I know that feeling, had one snapped off from shock damage after an encounter with Little Hitter 2 years ago

                            Re: Little spinner 4 upgrades

Had a play with my new toy at the weekend and decided to make ls4 a bit more reliable.
The supports at the back of the drive motors were bolted to the base and with large impacts the base
flexed and bent the shafts so made some new ones that fixed to the gearboxes.
