When I saw the original pic of Mini gimp I thought it had a metal base, but that was for the kilobot I presume.

Banebots can go down to 3g each with the heatshrink off, and there is a lot more weight to be lost in that wiring and taking heatshrink off the lipo. Just some advice so you can get some good teeth in the weight.

how can you loose weight in the wiring? all the cables are as short as possible....

didnt want to take off heatshrink as carbon fibre is a conductor

Shell can still loose some weight, Drill or pocket wheels like i have in the gimp. Cut motor shafts down. Flip battery so lead is at other side and shorten that wire.
Stick some titanium teeth on it.

yeah i might drill wheels out etc, was going to cut lipo wire down but didnt want to solder a joint half way down lead... ill do all that when i know how much over i am when its got teeth on... need to put a little weld on shell to hold the top bit on properly- just glued atm

All the tiny pocketed holes on the top could be drilled. Still be way strong enough.

When you say magnets, what are you using them for?

The magnets were put there because when we was building the robot it was made for show to drive up walls and upside down etc. also it effectively gives the robot more weight in the arena and helps keep the robot stable when spinning and hitting other robots.

I have enough parts to build another dribble bot spinner. might build one to sell.

get it in weight :P , going to cut a section out the top and replace with titanium... then take a few MM of the tips of the beater because it hits the floor quite a bit :P lol
