Take a bit of 1.5mm wire and wire two plugs into the packs so you can charge them half at a time with your existing charger. But will you listen........................

              Re: Batt charger

              Dear Mother
So effectively i would have to split the 3x 28 packs into 6x14 packs ...
              Hmm...1) ...more wiring to do
              2) ...expense and more connections to break
3)....time it would take to charge that many packs

              SO.....back to square one..

Can anyone recommend a 36v NI-Mh charger to me ??

              Cheers Froggy

                yes a astro flight
                112 Deluxe Charger/Discharger
This Deluxe Digital Peak Charger/Discharger can charge any 2 to 40 cell Nicad or Nimh pack,
from the tiny 50 mahr cells to giant 9,000 mahr cells. The 112 can also discharge these packs and measure their milliamp-hour capacity. Works from 12 V DC

plug in turn to ammps charging and wait
                just over £100

                  Re: Batt charger

I've got the slightly different model of that astroflight charger. Basically same specs but it doesn't have the discharge feature. I may be willing to part with it as i'm going lipo in my next feather. Drop me a pm and we can talk.

                      Re: Batt charger

By using a dapter with the astroflight charger. Basically it tricks the charger into thinking it's working with nicads and monitors the voltage of the A123s. Once it reaches a the appropriate voltage for the A123s it tells the charger that the pack is full.

                      http://www.slkelectronics.com/lipodapter/index.htm

It doesn't balance the pack but I never found a problem not balancing the cells. A132s can pretty much be treated like nicads and nimh in this respect.

If I shift this charger I may well shift the dapter too along with the A123 pack I used in hornet, interested?

                        Toad

Actually we bought the Fusion Paladrin charger recently for £89.99. It does 1-30 NIMH packs as well. It come with a 12cell balancer which seem to sell on ebay for about £40.

What voltage are your batteries ?
because 28 cells is 33.6 volts.

                            Re: Batt charger

well the cells will be holding more than the spedificed volts so will probs be in excess of 36v when fully charged
