27th/28th October 2006 - XFM Halloween Spooktacular II
The venue was excellent, the pits space was certainly ample (is it because there were no big space-hogging heavyweights ? but nobody was blocking the way whatsoever anywhere), and the couches were very comfortable (just ask Mario). But I hated the location of the smoke machine.
My sincerest congratulations to the winners. Everybody was very sportsman-like, it was more fun than competition and that -to me- is the spirit of Robot Wars as we have been developing it for years.
Much applauding and hat-tipping to Ed and his crew for organising a very funny and sportive but smoothly-running event. And great appreciation for the comic relief brought by the boxing robots and the spectators fights.
Next year though I wish several of the men wouldnt scare me so much by going un-costumed and un-masked. Us witches had a great time though, and it was funny to see a pirate picking at his peeling skin that just wouldnt come off... pictures of his humiliation will be online soon, I promise.
